Mouthpiece The subject of the present invention is a mouthpiece for mixing a liquid flowing out of it with air.
Such mouthpieces are used, for example, for water outlet fittings, such as wall batteries and drain taps, and also for washing fountains.
According to the invention, the mouthpiece is characterized by a housing to be attached to the outlet nozzle of a liquid line, in which a nozzle opening pointing part is inserted and coaxially to the nozzle opening a perforated, with the tip directed against the nozzle opening, seen in the direction of flow of the liquid, behind ter This opening lying hollow cone is arranged, and by means that connect the Raiun surrounding the hollow cone with the outside air, the whole thing in such a way that air is sucked in from the outside through the liquid jet emerging from the nozzle opening and divided by the hollow cone, which together With.
the liquid enters the cone interior connected to the outlet of the mouthpiece, where a mixture of liquid and air is generated.
This makes it possible to mix so much air into the liquid jet that, with the same amount of liquid consumption, it is several times larger than without a mouthpiece. In addition, because of the finely distributed air it contains, the jet appears less powerful, which is advantageous in many cases.
An air inlet is preferably provided in the housing which is connected to the space surrounding the hollow cone and whose axis is parallel to the direction of flow of the mixture at the outlet in the mouthpiece. This air inlet can be formed by a cross-sectional ring-shaped channel surrounding the outlet in the mouthpiece.
The hollow cone can expediently be arranged in such an axially displaceable manner in the housing that it can be brought into a position in which its tip closes the nozzle opening.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, namely: FIG. 1 shows a first and FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of the mouthpiece in longitudinal section, while FIG. 3 illustrates a section along line III-III in FIG.
The housing 1 of the mouthpiece, designed as a sleeve, has an internal thread 2 at its upper end for connection to the outlet nozzle of a liquid line. A disk 3 with a coaxial nozzle opening 4 that widens downward is inserted into the housing 1. The edge of the disk 3 is offset so that the flange 5 is formed, which rests on a shoulder 6 projecting on the inside of the housing 1.
According to FIG. 1, a thin-walled hollow cylinder 7 is fastened all around, for example by soldering, on the edge part of the disc 3 having the smaller diameter. In its upper part there is passage openings 8 for the air. In the hollow cylinder 7 is a second hollow cylinder 9 inserted, the upper end of which merges into a hollow cone 1.0, which latter is within half of the hollow cylinder 7 and is seen with a large number of relatively small perforations 11 that surround the hollow cone 10, the space 10a. Connect 1: 5 with the interior of the cone.
The hollow cone 10 is coaxial with the nozzle opening 4 and, viewed in the direction of flow of the liquid, arranged behind this opening Publ, with its tip directed towards the nozzle opening. is. A known jet regulator 12 is inserted into the lower end of the inner hollow cylinder 9, which end forms the outlet opening. Between the lower end of the hollow cylinder 7 and the lower end of the sleeve 1, which is tapered on the outside, an annular channel 13 is provided which surrounds the outlet in the mouthpiece and through which air can flow in from the outside and through which expanded upwards to an annular space 1.1.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, the axis of the annular channel 1.3 is parallel to the direction of flow, which the liquid-air mixture at the outlet of the Xundstüekes has.
Through the nozzle opening 4, the liquid flowing out of the line is shaped into a jet emerging from this opening at high speed, which is rather divided by the hollow cone 10 and penetrates into the cone interior 15 in the form of many fine jets through the holes 1: 1, air being sucked through the annular channel 13 and the opening 8 into the space 10a as a result of the jet pump effect. and with vortex formation, the two elements are intensively mixed in this space. By means of the jet regulator 12, the mixture is formed into a jet flowing evenly out of the mouthpiece.
In the mouthpiece according to FIG. 2, the housing is divided into two screwed together parts 16 and 17, of which the upper part 16 has an internal thread 18 and an annular flange 19 projecting near the inside, which carries the disc 3 with the nozzle opening 4. The lower part 17 is offset on the inside, so that an annular shoulder 20 is formed. A hollow cylinder 21, which differs from the hollow cylinder 7 according to FIG. 1 in that its upper part is angled to form a flange 22, is inserted into the housing part 17, with its flange 22 resting on the shoulder 20.
In the hollow cylinder 21, in the same way as in the embodiment of FIG. 1, a second hollow cylinder 23 is inserted, which merges into a hollow cone 24 with perforations 25 at the top and has a jet regulator 26 in its lower opening. Here, too, the hollow cone 24 is coaxial with the nozzle opening 4 and, viewed in the direction of flow of the liquid, arranged behind this opening, with its tip directed towards the opening mentioned.
In this embodiment, too, the air to be mixed with the liquid passes through an annular channel 27 that is left free in the outlet opening of part 17, and through openings 28 provided in flange 22 into space 2: 1a surrounding hollow cone 24 and the liquid jet emerging from the nozzle opening 4 is sucked in by the action of a jet pump and entrained into the interior of the cone 2-9 for the purpose of intensive mixing.
In this embodiment, however, the lower housing part 17 is designed as a nut and has, for example, edges or a corrugation on the outside, which are not shown in FIG. 2 for the sake of simplicity. By appropriately turning this nut with respect to the housing part 16, as can easily be seen, the hollow cone 24 can be axially displaced in the housing and the nozzle opening 4 is approached or removed from it.
By screwing down the nut 17 completely, the nozzle opening 4 can then be closed by the cone tip and the flow of liquid can thus be shut off. In order to allow contamination from the outside through the thread into the space 24a and to achieve an effective seal, a locking nut 30 is provided which has an edge flange 31 which acts as a stop for an outer annular flange 32 provided on the nut 17 serves.
This also prevents the housing parts 16 and 17 from becoming detached from one another if the latter is unscrewed too far outwards.
According to this embodiment, the mouthpiece can be used in addition to the jet regulator 26 both as a regulating element for the flow rate and as a throttle valve, which is particularly advantageous if of several branch lines connected to a main line and each having a mouthpiece of the type described, for example a car wash, only a few of them should be used.
Since the air inlet is located inside the outlet in the mouthpiece, the arrangement of side slots or holes in the housing is avoided, which contributes significantly to an attractive external design of the mouthpiece.
