Fig.2 zeigt in derselben Darstellung ein anderes Ausführungsbeispiel.
Fig.3 ist. ein Grundriss des Ablaufrohres hierzu.
Washing machine with a spin drum designed to hold laundry. In washing machines, in particular semi-automatic or fully automatic machines, the entire washing, rinsing and spinning process is carried out in a common, rotatable drum with a mostly horizontal axis of rotation.
The jacket of this drum is provided with appropriate openings for the passage of the washing and rinsing liquid and the drum is arranged in a container in such a way that it is immersed in the liquid in said container during the wet treatment of the laundry.
A drain pipe for discharging the liquid opens into the lower part of the container located outside the drum shell, so that after the wet treatment; the liquid can be removed and then the washing process can be carried out by rotating the drum with a correspondingly high number of revolutions, as is usual with washing centrifuges, in order to throw the liquid out of the washing. In the previously known types with free drainage.
the drain pipe, in order to ensure complete emptying of the ZVTaschf.l.liquid container, is designed to be inclined downwards from the point of opening and is provided with an outlet valve. There are also versions with a rising drain pipe. However, these require a special discharge pump. In both cases, a control device is required to effect the emptying of the container by opening the control valve or starting the feed pump at the predetermined point in time.
In the case of semi-automatic machines, this control usually has to be carried out by hand, whereas in the case of fully automatic machines it can be done automatically, which is only possible through appropriate mechanical and control-related complications of the entire washing machine equipment.
The present invention aims. Now to eliminate these disadvantages of the known Ma machines mentioned and relates to a washing machine with a rotatable centrifugal drum intended for washing laundry, which is arranged with a horizontal axis of rotation in a washing liquid container, in the lower part of which lies outside the centrifugal drum shell a drain pipe for the washing liquid opens.
According to the invention, the machine is characterized in that the drain pipe as an overflow pipe determines the highest liquid level in the container and the area of the mouth of the drain pipe in this way. designed. is that by the liquid flow generated at the beginning of the rotation of the spin drum for the purpose of spinning out the laundry in the container, a dynamic pressure is generated at the outlet pipe opening point, which causes the liquid to run off by overcoming the overflow height in the drain pipe.
This ensures that, in spite of the lack of a drain valve, the washing liquid level can be maintained during the wet treatment and the liquid drainage is still effected automatically, in that the centrifugal drum also acts as a feed pump for discharging the liquid from the washing liquid container during the spinning process.
This prevents. not that you can also perform rotary drum movements during the wet treatment, which are useful to support the washing and rinsing process, such as alternating rotational movements of the drum in one and the other direction of rotation, because these rotational movements are by nature with a lower one The order of magnitude of speeds as the centrifugal movement at which the drum rotates with the high number of revolutions required for laundry centrifuges.
However, since such drum movements make the washing liquid outweigh, the highest point of the drain pipe must be at least so high that the disturbances in the washing liquid level caused by the drum movements do not cause any undesirable gushing liquid drainage.
Since the direction of rotation during the centrifugal process is always the same in one and the same machine as usual, the design of the mouth area of the drain pipe can be adjusted to this constancy of the direction of rotation in order to educate the automatic liquid drain during the centrifugal movement only one rotation of the drum in this direction of rotation with the spinning process corresponding to the number of revolutions required for the liquid pumping action it generates.
The accompanying drawing shows two exemplary embodiments from the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 shows schematically partially in cross section, partially in front view of a washing machine.
2 shows a different embodiment in the same representation.
Fig.3 is. a floor plan of the drain pipe for this.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, in a housing 1, a drum 2 intended to receive laundry is rotatable about a right axis of rotation 3 and not. dargestell ter way motor-driven mounted. The mantle of the drum? is provided with breakthroughs 4 for the wasehiquid drainage and points. further inwardly protruding ribs 5 for taking along the laundry and the washing liquid filled into the drum.
The drum '21 is arranged in a circular-cylindrical washing liquid container, concentric to the drum, the jacket 6 of which encloses the jacket of the drum at a corresponding distance.
The predetermined level of the washing liquid is denoted by 7. In the outside of the shell of the drum \? located part of the washing liquid are electric, rod-shaped heating elements 8, as they are common in water boilers, arranged to heat the washing liquid speed. In the lower part of the washing liquid container opens a drain pipe 9,
which is formed from the outlet point 10 initially sloping and then up to deal out of the housing 1 of the machine out connection socket 11 rising, namely, as Fig. 1 shows, the pipe corresponds to a total of the predetermined highest washing liquid level 7 corresponding corresponding height so that it also serves as an overflow for the washing liquid.
During the spinning process, the drum 2 is set in rotation in the direction of arrow 12 with a high number of revolutions usual in laundry centrifuges. When this centrifugal movement begins, the container is filled with washing liquid up to level 7, which therefore moves in the corresponding direction of rotation. so that a liquid flow in the direction of arrow 12 is created in the part of the washing liquid container located outside the jacket of drum 2.
L m now to bring about the pumping action to expel the liquid from the container by this rotational movement of the drum, in this part of the container a liquid storage device assigned to the outlet pipe opening 10 is arranged in the form of a retaining wall 13 which is parallel to the axis of rotation 3 and is seated immediately behind the mouth 10 in relation to the direction of liquid flow.
The retaining wall 13 is expediently designed as a sheet metal strip which is tightly sealed on all sides with the Behäl ter, apart from the free edge on the side facing the shell of the drum 2, so that only between said free edge and the drum shell in the outside the drum shell located space of the container liquid can flow past the retaining wall 13. The liquid flowing towards it in the direction of arrow 12 is therefore dammed up by this baffle, so that the kinetic energy of the flowing liquid is converted into static pressure.
The ratios are chosen so that the dynamic pressure generated during the spinning process at the point of the outlet pipe mouth 10 is sufficient to convey the liquid through the outlet pipe 9, overcoming the overflow height, at a predetermined speed.
In a practical version, the complete emptying of the container in this way only takes about 1 minute, which time interval is sufficient to carry out the main spin process, so that the emptying of the container at the same time as the spin process from the Liquid spilled off from the laundry is also emptied. becomes.
In order to facilitate complete emptying of the container, it is expedient, as indicated in FIG. 1 by dash-dotted lines, for example by connecting a hose 9 'to the pipe 11 to clip a sloping part. of the drainage pipe so that the liquid flowing through the latter exerts a suction effect on the water column in the rising part when the pipe cross-section is fully filled.
There is nothing in the way, contrary to the illustration in FIG. 1, to design the baffle instead of parallel to the axis of rotation 3 in such a way that it converges towards the pipe mouth 10 from both sides, based on the direction of the fluid flow mentioned Such an arrangement causes, at the same time as the stagnation, a partial deflection of the liquid flow from both sides in the direction of the outlet pipe mouth.
This principle is also used in the storage device illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, according to which the mouth end 14 of the drainage pipe 9 in the part of the washing liquid container located outside the casing of the washing drum 2 runs at least approximately in the direction of the liquid flow and with the mouth is closed to a funnel 15, which extends as far as possible over the entire length of the container jacket 6 measured in the direction of the axis 3 and can be tightly connected to the container on the underside and the adjacent end walls, similar to this for:
the baffle 13 of the first Ausfüh approximately example has been mentioned. Through the funnel 15 takes place from all sides during the spinning process in the part of the washing liquid container located outside the shell of the drum 2, a deflection of the liquid flow in Rich device towards the mouth of the drain pipe 9, whereby the intended pumping effect is supported.
