Apparatus for the mutual centering of socket pipes when they are joined together. The invention relates to an apparatus for the mutual centering of Mlif- fenrohren when joining the same, characterized by an apparatus body which is set up to be clamped to that pipe that is to be fastened in the socket of the other pipe so that a visor surface on it is flush with the end face of the first-mentioned pipe, and which, in addition to a centering surface, also has a depth stop for the socket of the pipe on the other.
The accompanying drawing shows two examples of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation, partly in section, of a first embodiment of the apparatus and two tubes joined with the aid of the apparatus.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of Figs. 1, 2 and 3 and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a second embodiment.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 denotes the so-called tip end of a tube which, using a sealing ring 2 and a visual ring 3 the sleeve 4 of a second pipe is connected in a known manner.
Up to now, when joining such pipes one always had some visual difficulties not only when centering one another, but also when aligning the rielite distance 5 between them. Top end and the socket base. The apparatus shown enables these difficulties to be met.
It has a cast or welded apparatus body 6 , which looks from a rigid web 7 two wings 8 </ B forming a centering V-support > At one end of the web, two wings 9 forming a second centering V-support at a certain distance from the other end of the web and an inwardly directed projection forming a depth stop 10 next to the wings 9 .
The apparatus body 6 is set up to be clamped to one tube in the vicinity of its tip end, specifically in a position such that that on the web 7 is in front existing visor surface 11 is exactly flush with the face of this tip end.
Once this has been done, the sought-after purpose is achieved when the socket face is pushed exactly up to the depth stop 10 during assembly and the socket is pushed against the centering wings 9 provided, of course, that the apparatus is designed according to the size ratios at the pipe ends.
The device for tightening the apparatus body 6 at the tip end 1 has a Gallsehe chain 12, one end of which by means of a visual pin 13 and a spring 1 , 4 is supported on one eye 15 of one of the wings 8 , the pretensioning of the spring by means of one or the other of the nuts 16 can be adjusted, and the other end of which is connected by means of a pair of tabs 17 to a lever eccentric 18 , which can be seen on an eye 19 the other wing 8 .
The second embodiment shown in FIG. 3 differs from the first in certain details.
On the web 7 ' of the apparatus body 6' , the wings 9 and the projection are replaced by a ring segment 20 which has an L-shaped cross section and serves as a centering means and as a depth stop for a pipe socket such as 4 (Fig. 1) . In addition, one end of Gall's chain 12 is attached to one of the wings 8 ' by means of tabs 21 on an eye 22, while the other end is provided with a very bolt 23 which can be inserted between the tabs 24 on the other wing 8 ' and tightened using a wing nut 25 .
Here, too, the web 7 ' has the visor area 11.
