Während Kar- tusclhenhalter von der Länge 8 ausserordent lich starken. Treibgasstössen und dementspre chend grossen Einschusstiefen des Verbin dungsmittels entsprechen, vermindern sich diese Einschusstiefen durch Anwendung von Kartuschenhaltern mit den Längen 7, 6 und 5 entsprechend immer mehr;
Ist der Lauf, was durchweg aus Sicherungs gründen zweckmässig ist, in einer Lauffüh rung abgefedert angeordnet, um erst durch Andrücken der Schiessvorrichtung an den Be- schusswerkstoff den Schlagbolzen in die Lage zu bringen, bei der er bei Schussauslösung in die Zündkapsel der Kartusche einzudringen vermag, womit die Verwendung der Schiess vorrichtung als Waffe erschwert oder un möglich gemacht wird, so kann man den Ka nal 20 in eine zwischen Lauf und Lauffüh rung anzuordnende Expansionskammer ein münden lassen, womit die axiale Abführung der abgelassenen Teilgasmengen ermöglicht v;
ird.
Es können mehrere oder alle der insgesamt vorgeschlagenen Massnahmen zur Vereinigung kommen, ohne dass das jedoch erforderlich er scheint, weil beispielsweise schon durch mehr oder weniger grosse Abzweigung von Treib gasen zu erreichen ist, dass mit derselben Ein richtung und mit derselben Munition (mit clenselben Kartuschen) die Einschusstiefen des gleichen Verbindungsmittels in jeder praktisch erforderlichen Weise zu verändern sind;
Method and device for changing the insertion depth, independently of the propellant charge, of connecting means to be driven into a solid body by means of a firing device. In shooting devices for driving fasteners into any material receiving them, the need arises to change the depth of the penetration, with given dimensions of the fasteners.
The depth of the penetration depends on the respective intended use of the connecting means, and also on the type, hardness and strength of the materials receiving the connecting means and, finally, on a number of other influencing variables. It is obvious to change the propellant itself for this purpose. However, this means that not only different cartridges containing the propellant charge must be kept in stock, and the type of propellant itself can be changed; but that it must be left to the tool, i.e. the operator of the shooting device, to change the type and dimensions of the cartridges.
However, this requires certain considerations and possibly even calculations that the unskilled workers who generally have to handle such devices cannot be expected.
The resulting task of changing the depth of the penetration independently of the propellant charge is achieved according to the invention in that, with the charge remaining the same, the size of the propellant gas applied to the connecting means impacts at least approximately in the direction of the shot while the total propellant gas generated is diverted is set.
The device according to the invention which is used to carry out the method is characterized by means for adjusting the size of the propellant shock with the propellant charge remaining the same, while the entire propellant gas is diverted at least approximately in the direction of the shot.
The drawing shows a number of exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention, namely there.
Fig. 1 in longitudinal section, first, an off education of the shooting device again, in which a set of cartridge holders to be used to change the propellant gas space with different, axial length owning cartridge holders. is provided.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a sleeve intended for guiding the connecting means with a recess which can gradually be changed in terms of volume and which is used to adjust a certain propellant gas impact to be changed in adaptation to requirements.
Fig. 3 is a slightly different, Fig. 4 is a further modified Ausfüh approximate shape of the sleeve of FIG. 2 again. Fig. 5 shows an end view of a guide bushing for connecting means, which is designed so that part of the propellant gas developed can flow off without any effect.
FIG. 6 shows a side view of the guide bush according to FIG. 5.
FIG. 7 shows a longitudinal section of a shooting device running along the line VII-VII of FIG.
FIG. 8 shows a cross section through the barrel of the shooting device along line VIII-VIII in FIG. 7.
Fig. 9 illustrates a Schiessvorrich device with insert barrels for the main run. In FIG. 1, 1 denotes the barrel of the shooting device with cartridge holder 2, cartridge 3 and abutment 4 for securing the cartridge holder and the cartridge in the barrel.
There is a set of cartridge holders 2 of different lengths 5, 6, 7 and 8 so that, depending on the respective length 5, 6, 7 or 8 of a cartridge holder 2, the propellant gas-filled space 9 and thus independent of the propellant charge the effect on in the barrel 1 located connecting means, consisting of Füh tion 29 exposed to the propellant gases A flow surface 28, shaft 30 and shaft tip 31, changed.
A collar 2 'on the cartridge holders 2 or an equivalent stop ensures that each cartridge holder can be fixed independently of its length between the barrel and the threaded abutment.
While cartridge holders of length 8 are extraordinarily strong. Propellant gas shots and correspondingly large bullet depths of the connec tion agent correspond, these bullet depths decrease accordingly more and more by using cartridge holders with the lengths 7, 6 and 5;
because by enlarging the space filled with propellant gas, the unit area pressure on the end face of the connecting means exposed to the propellant gas drops. The propellant gases themselves are discharged in the usual way over the barrel, i.e. in the firing direction, so that the operator is not bothered by them.
In the embodiment of Fig. 2 is on an anchoring bolt 11, which has been selected as an embodiment for also as nails, anchors, bolts with external or hollow thread or the like executable connec tion means, about Ge threaded attachment 12 a guide bushing 13 is screwed on not only has the task of guiding the anchoring bolt 11 coaxial to the running axis, but also protects the thread 12 when the anchoring bolt is driven into the material.
Since the task is to shoot the anchoring bolt 11 only so deep that the threaded piece 12 protrudes beyond the surface of the bullet material into which the anchoring bolt 11 is to be driven, so the need arises for the propellant gas that comes into effect to dose onto the inlet surface 28 'of the connecting means 11 and 28 "of the guide sleeve 13 in such a way that the desired insertion depth is just created.
For this purpose, the guide bushing 13 has a recess 14 facing the propellant space 9, which can also be dimensioned differently as such when there are several guide bushings assigned to one and the same anchoring bolts in order to enable the propellant gas to be increased to a greater or lesser extent. filled space to provide the propellant gas volume developed by the same charge a more or less large expansion space.
Depending on the resulting greater or lesser expansion of this propellant gas quantity, which is assumed to be constant, the specific propellant gas pressures on the anchoring bolt or on its influence surfaces 28 ', 28 "for the propellant gas change, so that the injection depth accordingly reduced or enlarged.
However, there is also the possibility of screwing the anchoring bolt 11, 12 itself more or less deeply into the recess 14 of the same guide bushing, so that if the design of the guide sleeve 13 remains the same, only by axial adjustment of the anchoring bolt 11, 12 the required regulation of the entry depth can be effected. For this purpose, markings can be attached.
Naturally, one is not restricted to using a thread 12 of the anchoring bolt, which is available in many cases, but one can also fulfill the same purpose by other means, for example by screwing the anchoring bolt into the guide bushing in the manner of a bayonet with different notches . With this type of shot depth determination, the propellant gases are also discharged axially along the barrel in the direction of the shot without disturbing the operation with smoke, sound, light and impact phenomena.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the recess 14 of the guide bush 1.3 is provided with an internal thread 15, and this internal thread 15 has a slightly larger diameter than the thread which the anchoring bolt 11 has at 12. Since the position of the head boundary surface of the anchoring bolt 11, 12 in relation to the propellant gas-filled space 9, 14 is variable over the length of the thread 12.
So there is next as in Fig. 2 the possibility of changing the expansion space for the propellant gases by screwing 12 in the space 14 to ver. In addition, the internal thread 15 can serve to accommodate a special threaded plug that is screwed more or less deep into the recess 14, so that in this way the size of the propellant gas-filled space can be changed continuously or in paragraphs.
A flange-shaped end 19 of the guide bushings 13 places it against a corresponding seat in the barrel and secures the exact position of the connecting means in this; the edge of the plate 19 tears off when the anchoring bolt is fired and is removed before the next shot. The propellant gases are discharged through the barrel, i.e. in a direction facing away from the operator.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, the thread 16 is extended over the entire length of the guide bushing 13 in order to be able to effect a change within even greater limits based on the extent of the axial adjustment of the bolt; The anchoring bolt at 12 has the same thread. With regard to the propellant gas discharge, what was said about FIG. 3 applies.
While the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 4 work with a change in the propellant gas space, the embodiments according to FIGS. 5 to 8 are characterized in that, for setting the propellant gas shot and thus for setting the injection depth, variable propellant gas partial quantities from the .Detonation space drained and in turn uselessly led away in or at least approximately in the direction of fire,
so that only a residual propellant gas comes into effect on the surfaces of the anchoring bolt, while the axially directed or at least approximately axially directed discharge of the branched propellant gas portion prevents the operation of the firing device and its surroundings from being impaired.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, this is achieved in the simplest manner in that a guide bushing 13 is delimited by two diametrically opposed, plane-parallel surfaces 17 and 18, these flattened areas also being extended to the shearing plate 19 are. The guide bushing therefore has a non-circular cross-section, and the flattened areas appear as circular chords in cross-section.
These guide bushings are available in sets with different distances between the flat areas in order to be able to achieve more than two different shooting depth settings. There are 13 channels on both sides of the guide bushes, which lead from the detonation chamber directly into the chamber.
This leads to an ineffective discharge of a more or less large part of the propellant gas quantities produced, so that by means of the mentioned set-wise measurement of the distances between the surfaces 17 and 18, one has the propellant gas surge from a maximum to a minimum and completely in hand to vary the entry depth accordingly; the propellant gas that escapes uselessly is safely discharged through the barrel for the operator.
The essence of the device is that for practical reasons, the distance between the surfaces 17, 18 must be limited to two limit sizes and a few intermediate sizes, otherwise the storage of guide bushes with different distances between the surfaces 17, 18 would be confusing . Therefore, the level of the propellant gas can only be changed in stages. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, it is not the guide bushing but the barrel of the firing device that has been used for channel formation.
For this purpose, an inclined channel 20 is provided in barrel 1 of this device, the inclination of which is selected so that the escaping partial amount of propellant gas is discharged approximately in the firing direction away from the operator.
If the barrel, which is always useful for safety reasons, is arranged in a spring-loaded running guide so that the firing pin is only able to penetrate the cartridge's primer by pressing the firing device against the firing material , whereby the use of the shooting device as a weapon is made difficult or impossible, so you can let the channel 20 open into an expansion chamber to be arranged between the barrel and Lauffüh tion, which enables the axial discharge of the discharged partial gas quantities v;
earth. The channel 20 is penetrated by a transverse bore at 21, which in turn is provided with a thread recess 22 in which a grub screw 23 is guided.
Since the channel 20 connects the propellant gas space 9 with the atmosphere, shortly after the shot has been fired, only part of the propellant gas volume developed by the cartridge acts on the anchoring bolt; the other part of the propellant gas flows off in accordance with the respective flow cross-section of the channel 20 that is exposed by the grub screw 23.
The channel 20 is also connected to axially extending grooves 24 in the cartridge holder 2, the grooves 24 being connected via radial, groove-shaped connec tions 25 and through holes 25 'in the cartridge holder 2 to the propellant gas chamber, so that propellant is connected in this way - partial amounts of gas can be diverted and rendered ineffective. The grub screw 23 can also be replaced by a screw which completely penetrates the channel 20 and has a bore running in the direction of the channel, so that this screw forms a type of cock plug.
Instead of the screws or taps, nozzles of different clearances can also be inserted into the channel 20, the nozzles being assigned to a shooting device in sets. While the nozzles only allow the size of the propellant gas to be changed in stages, the grub screw 23 can be used to set any desired intermediate size of the channel cross-section 20, so that the height of the propellant gas is not adjustable in stages, but rather continuously between the full propellant gas and the value zero .
A third possibility of changing the size of the propellant gas buff is finally shown in FIG. 9, in that the area of influence of the anchoring bolt has been reduced there by arranging an insert barrel 26 with the axial holder 27 in the main barrel 1. There is a set of several barrels of 26 different calibres available in order to be able to differently dose the effect of the propellant gas on anchoring bolts of different sizes. The axial propellant evacuation, facing away from the operator, takes place via the barrel as usual.
Since the mass of the anchorages can be changed with the caliber of an insert barrel 26, it is up to you by choosing: the caliber of the insert barrels in connection with the implementation of certain dimensions .der connecting means 11 to achieve a wide variety of shooting depths ; the longer the bullet is with the same caliber, the greater the penetration depth, with the limits of the area in which the lengths are variable being expandable by changing the caliber.
Several or all of the proposed measures can be combined without this appearing to be necessary, because, for example, a more or less large diversion of propellant gases can achieve that with the same device and with the same ammunition (with the same cartridges ) the insertion depths of the same lanyard are to be changed in any practical way necessary;
This also applies to the diameter of the connecting means, since in the case of guide bushes with thicker walls, only more propellant gas has to be released for them, in order to be able to give smaller connecting means a lower depth of shot.
