Device for adjusting the rolls of rolling mills. When rolling metal sheets and strips, it is necessary to adjust the upper roller of the roll stands both quickly and slowly and under pressure with the help of the device. Furthermore, it must be possible to give the roll stands a certain preload in order to keep the stand expansion as low as possible during the final finishing passes. In addition, care must be taken to quickly loosen stuck rollers.
The invention fulfills these conditions in a simple manner by a device for adjusting the rolls of roll stands, in particular those for rolling sheet metal and strips, with a high-speed drive, characterized by an additional slow drive provided with a transmission gear, its motor is connected to the setting spindles of the rollers of the roller frame via a releasable coupling.
In the drawing, a possible embodiment of the invention is shown schematically.
The adjusting motor 1 drives the pressure spindles 7 of a roll stand via clutch 2, tickle 3, gear 4 and the worms 5, 6. The clutch S is used, if necessary, to separate the two pressure spindles 7. The hub 10 of the worm wheel 11 is rotatably mounted on the shaft 9 connected to the tickle 3 so that it can rotate. The snow wheel 11 can be driven by the motor 13 via a worm (not shown) and the coupling 12. With the hub 10 of the worm gear 11, on the one hand, the coil body 15 of a magnetic coupling 16, which is provided with a friction lining 14, is firmly connected, while the associated drive plate 17 is non-rotatable but slidable on the shaft 9.
On the other hand, the hub 10 is provided with the coupling claws 18 into which the claw coupling 19, which is non-rotatably arranged on the shaft 9, can be engaged.
Motor 1 is normally used to adjust the rollers. Here, the magnetic coupling 16 is such. switched so that it acts as a brake for the rotating parts when the motor 1 is switched off in such a way that the coil body 15, which is attached to the stationary transmission gear, is excited and thereby presses the drive plate 17 against the friction lining 14 and so with the brings rotating parts to a standstill .. Sodl the employment with low employment:
gSpeed are driven, the. Magnetic clutch 16 switched on and motor 13 actuated. This then drives the clutch 12, the transmission gear, Magnetkupp.huig- 16, shaft 9, Ritzes 3 etc. the employment, with motor 1 running idle.
If the roll stands are given a certain pre-tension, the device works as when hiring at low speed, but the top roll is fixed on the bottom roll until the frictional torque of the magnetic coupling is exceeded, that is, until the Friction lining 14 on the Mitneh merseheibe 17 begins to slip. It should also be mentioned here that the friction clutch (magnetic clutch) must be dimensioned in such a way that it transmits the torque required to achieve a certain pretensioning of the roll stands.
If the rollers are stuck and the torque that can be transmitted by the friction clutch is not sufficient to release them, then the dog clutch 19 is engaged, which is able to transmit a torque corresponding to the fully utilized engine output.
