Suction electrodes, in particular for medical purposes.
When using elektromedizini- see apparatus such. B. for the decrease of action voltages and for therapeutic purposes, one often uses so-called suction electrodes, which have a suction cup to be placed under negative pressure when applied to the body of the test subject and stick to the body by maintaining the negative pressure in the suction cup. Also for the treatment of substances with electrical currents, z. B. of wood with high-frequency electrical vibrations, for the purpose of drying or when testing materials and workpieces z. For example, their dielectric strength is important.
The present invention relates to such a suction electrode, which is to be closed to a vacuum generator by means of a suction line. The suction electrode according to the invention consists of an insulating body which is formed on one side towards a suction cup and is provided with a metal socket inserted perpendicular to the axis of the suction cup for connecting the suction line and the electrical supply line, which metal socket has an opening is connected to the suction cup and carries a plate-shaped spreading electrode in the suction cup.
Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
La and 1b show a first embodiment in section and in view, while FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment in section.
In both cases the suction electrode consists of an insulating body 1, which is formed on one side towards the suction cup la and is provided with a metal socket 2 inserted perpendicular to the axis of the suction cup for connecting the suction line 3 and the electrical supply line. The insulating body is preferably made of molded material, the metal bushing, e.g. B. made of brass, is pressed in during manufacture. The metal sleeve 2 is connected to the suction cup la through the opening 4. The opening 4 is particularly advantageously designed as a nozzle.
The purpose of the cross-sectional constriction between the suction line and the suction cup is that when the suction electrode is lifted from the subject's body, the pressure in the suction line only increases slowly or does not exceed a certain value, so that the vacuum required for the suction electrode to adhere to the body when it is reattached remains in the suction line at least for a certain time and is reached after a short period of application in the suction cup. The nozzle thus has the advantage that the suction line does not have to be brought back to the required negative pressure in order to achieve the necessary suction effect. This has a particularly advantageous effect when the suction electrode is manipulated frequently.
The cross-sectional constriction is expediently arranged in the immediate vicinity of the suction cup, preferably in such a way that the nozzle opens into the suction cup in order to ensure that the space to be sucked off when the suction electrode is applied remains limited to a minimum volume, namely that of the suction cup. Another advantage of the nozzle manifests itself when working with several, z. B. connected to a common distribution vessel, suction electrodes in that each electrode can be manipulated without affecting the others. In this way it is possible, for example, to detach each electrode individually from the patient's body and to apply it again at a different point without the other electrodes falling off in the meantime.
The cross section of the nozzle is preferably less than one tenth that of the suction line. Depending on the other conditions of the system in which the suction electrode is to be used, it can also be useful to choose values from 1/50 to 1/100 and less for the cross-sectional ratio.
The actual electrode 5, which spreads in the shape of a plate in the suction cup, is provided with a bolt 5a with which it is inserted into the metal socket 2. The bolt 5a can also be connected to the metal bushing 2 by another fastening supply type, for. B. by clamping and locking with a screw, which has the advantage that the electrode is adjustable in the direction of the bolt.
In the case of a suction electrode as shown in FIG. 1a and 1b, the metal socket 2 is to be provided with means for connecting the electrical supply line carried along in the suction line 3.
In the present example, this purpose is served by the maggot hood 6, by means of which the electrical conductor 7 is clamped in the metal socket 2.
The suction electrode according to FIG. 2, on the other hand, contains a metal socket 2, which is provided with two separate bores 2a and 2b, one of which is intended for connecting the suction line 3 and the other for receiving the plug 8 of an electrical supply line routed separately from the suction line is. Instead of being arranged in one axis, the two bores can also be arranged at such an angle or parallel to one another that the suction line and the electrical supply line can be brought to the suction electrode next to one another.
