<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 294339. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Schwefelfarbstoffes. Gegenstand vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Schwefel farbstoffes. Das Verfahren ist dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man auf 4-(p-Oxy-phenyl- amino) - 3' - methyT - N - methyl - diphenylamin Schwefel einführende Mittel einwirken lässt.
Als Schwefel einführende Mittel werden vorteilhaft Alkalipolysulfide verwendet, die man in Gegenwart eines Glykolmonoalkyl- äthers bei 1.00-125 einwirken lässt.
Der erhaltene neue Schwefelfarbstoff färbt Cellulosefasern aus schwefelnatriumhalt'igem Bade in grünstiehig blauer, reiner Nuance.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In eine Polysulfidlösung, hergestellt durch Verschmelzen von 156 Teilen Schwefel und 107 Teilen 60o/oigem techn. Schwefelnatrilun mit 400 Teilen Äthylenglykolmonomethyläther, werden 94 Teile eines trockenen Leiikoindo- phenols von folgender Konstitution einge tragen:

Die so erhaltene Schwefelungsschmelze wird bei 110 48 Stunden unter Rückfluss gekocht.
Nach Entfernung des Lösungsmittels durch Wasserdampfdestillation kann der Farbstoff durch Lüftung gefällt werden. Man erhält einen Farbstoff, der Cehulosefasern aus schese- felnatriumhaltigem Bade in stark grünstichig- blauer, reiner Nuance färbt und wertvolle Echtheitseigenschaften, insbesondere eine gute Chlorechtheit aufweist.

The method is characterized in that 4- (p-oxy-phenyl-amino) -3'-methyT-N-methyl-diphenylamine sulfur-introducing agents are allowed to act.
The sulfur-introducing agents used are advantageously alkali polysulphides which are allowed to act in the presence of a glycol monoalkyl ether at 1.00-125.
The new sulfur dye obtained dyes cellulose fibers from baths containing sulfur sodium in a greenish blue, pure shade.
<I> Example: </I> In a polysulphide solution, prepared by fusing 156 parts of sulfur and 107 parts of 60% techn. Sulphurous sodium with 400 parts of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, 94 parts of a dry leiikoindophenol of the following constitution are entered:

The sulfurizing melt obtained in this way is refluxed at 110 for 48 hours.
After the solvent has been removed by steam distillation, the dye can be precipitated by ventilation. A dyestuff is obtained which dyes cehulose fibers from a bath containing sulfuric acid in a strong greenish-blue, pure shade and has valuable fastness properties, in particular good fastness to chlorine.
