Laundry detergent. The present invention relates to a detergent which is characterized in that it contains an anionic, substantive fungicide. The expression anion-active, substantive fungicide is intended to denote fungicides which pull up the fibers, even in the presence of detergents.
The fungicides which can be used according to the invention can belong to a wide variety of compound classes. For example, FLmgicides which are derived from salicylic acid are suitable, in particular derivatives of salicylic anilide which are substituted by one or more halogen atoms in the aniline nucleus, the total amount of halogen per gram-mole being more than 36 grams.
Salicylic acid-2,4-dichloroanilide, salicylic acid-3,5-dichloranilide, salicylic acid-3,4-dichloroanilide and salicylic acid-p-bromanilide may be mentioned.
Such fungicides are preferably used. ver used against cellulose-degrading fungi. such as Chaetomium globosum, Synsporium biguttatum, Memnoniella echinata or Stachy- botris atra, are effective.
As a detergent for the purposes of the present invention, for. B. used who the: soaps, salts of sulfonate detergents such. B. of sulfonated benzimidazoles substituted on the 2-carbon atom by higher alkyl radicals, also salts of monocarboxylic acid esters of 4-sulfophthalic acid with higher fatty alcohols, furthermore salts of fatty alcohol sulfonates,
Alkylarylsulfonic acids or condensation products of higher fatty acids with aliphatic oxy- or aminosulfonic acids. Furthermore, ion-free detergents can be used, e.g. B. polyglycol ethers, which are derived from ethylene oxide and higher fatty alcohols, alkylphenols or fatty amines.
The detergents according to the invention can also contain the usual detergent additives, such as alkali carbonates, phosphates, pyrophosphates, polyphosphates, metaphosphates, silicates, perborates or perborates. It is also possible to prepare detergents which only or predominantly consist of inorganic, cleaning compounds and the fungicides.
In addition to the anionic, sweetening fungicides, insecticides, bactericides, dyes and optical bleaching agents can also be added to the detergents according to the invention.
The preparation of the mixtures of the detergents and anionic substantive fungicides takes place in a simple manner by mixing and / or grinding the components. It can be advantageous to use one or the other component in a dissolved or molten state for the purpose of easier distribution. The commercially available forms for detergents such. B. Powder; Flakes, pieces, shavings, pastes, can be prepared. In general, it is sufficient to add a few parts per thousand to a few percent of the fungicides to the detergents.
The amount depends primarily on the substantivity of the fungicide and the intended use of the detergent.
The detergents according to the invention are used in the usual washing processes. In this way, the materials to be cleaned can be washed and protected against fungal attack at the same time.
Materials that can be washed with the detergents according to the invention are primarily cellulose-containing materials. These include cellulose, textile materials made from cotton, linen, hemp, flax, jute, regenerated cellulose, and finally rayon. The treatment of silk and wool or mixed fabrics made from different types of fibers should also be considered. Furthermore, the cleaning of wooden objects such. B. barrels of the beverage industry, possible.
In the following examples, unless otherwise noted, parts mean parts by weight; the ratio between parts by weight and parts by volume is the same as that between kilograms and liters.
Example 1: w A detergent is prepared by thoroughly mixing 50 g of soap, 20 g of soda and 1 g of the sodium salt of salicylic acid - 3,4 - dichloroanilide.
Cotton that was washed for 1/2 hour at 90 C at a liquor ratio of 1:20 in a bath containing 7.1 g of the detergent described above per liter is protected against attack by the Chaetomium globosum fungus.
Example 2: A comparative experiment was carried out, in which the known fungicide salicylic anilide, which has no substantive properties, on the one hand and salicylic acid 3,4-dichloroanilide on the other hand, both in the form of the sodium salts, were used.
Washing was carried out, as described in Example 1, with the same. Soap and soda concentrations, the amount of fungicide varied. After drying, the fabric strips were inoculated with the fungus Chaetomium globosum and incubated on a mineral agar at 30 ° C. for 14 days. The strength of the mushroom growth was then determined on the individual strips and the decrease in the tensile strength of the tissue was measured. The following table shows the mean values from 10 tests.
In column I the concentration of the sodium salts in the liquor is given.
The strength of the mushroom growth is indicated in column II, where means

The table clearly shows that salicylic acid anilide has no substantive properties and does not offer any protection even when using large concentrations, while salicylic acid-3,4-dichloro anilide is one when using 0.10 / 0o and more in the liquor full protection he gives.
Example 3: 100 parts of a molten soap mass containing z. B. 60% fatty acid are mixed with 1-5% of the sodium salt of salicylic acid-3,4-dicbloranilids and then left cold.
Textiles washed with this soap are protected against attack by cellulose-degrading fungi.
Example 4: The sodium salt of 2-heptadecyl-N-benzyl-benzimidazyl-disulphonic acid is mixed with 1.-101 / o of the sodium salt of salicylic acid, 2,4- or 3,5-dichloroanilide . A fungicidal detergent is obtained.
