Thermoplastic article and process for its manufacture. The invention relates to an object made of thermoplastic material, in particular to a stamped plastic plate or the like, and to a process for its production.
In the production of objects, in particular plastic flakes or the like, made of thermoplastic material (e.g. polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, mixed polt 'merisates, polyethylene, acetyl cellulose, etc.) there are separating surfaces whose upper surfaces are more matt, rougher or more uneven than the Surface of the other glat th platelets or the like. Such plastic plates are z.
B. sawn from a plastic film or sheet, geschnit th, individually or in multiple cuts punched, drilled, milled or made by other processing device .. For many purposes, the roughness of the parting surfaces is undesirable.
It is true that the interfaces can be smoothed by machining, in particular grinding and polishing. However, in many cases this is expensive and cumbersome. For example in mass production.
The invention aims to overcome this disadvantage. The article made of thermoplastic according to the invention has parting surfaces which are machined by the simultaneous application of heat and pressure.
The plastic object according to the invention is such. B. can be produced in that it is pressed through a heated smoothing tool. The cross-sectional profile of the smoothing tool is expediently chosen to be smaller than the object to be smoothed. It is also advisable to make the surface of the smoothing tool itself as smooth as possible.
The smoothing tool can be warmed up or heated directly or indirectly by means of steam, water, oil, glycerine or the like, or by means of electric current by means of heating bands, heating plates, etc.
As a smoothing tool you can, for example, use a pipe, a nozzle, a single or multiple perforated plate with straight or conical holes narrowing towards the exit or a rounding provided at the inlet.
The smoothing tool can be used alone or in conjunction with other tools such. B. cuts, who used the. It is also possible to carry out the smoothing process in the cutting tool itself. In the latter case, the smoothing tool can be separated from the cutting tool by an insulating plate, if heating of the cutting tool is to be avoided.
This method is not only applicable when processing platelets or the like. Objects that are injection-molded from thermoplastic have burrs that have to be chipped off, punched out, broken off or mechanically removed in some other way. The resulting more or less rough, large or small separating surfaces can also be smoothed or polished according to the method according to the invention.
