Description

Self-winding watch. The present invention relates to a self-winding watch, of the type in which the mass causing the winding is carried by a rotating ring surrounding the movement.

This watch is characterized in that the winding mechanism connecting the ring to the barrel spring comprises at least one element to which the ring communicates a reciprocating movement by means of a portion acting as a cam.

The appended drawing shows two embodiments of the object of the invention, given by way of example, and a variant.

Fig. 1 is a section of the watch according to the first embodiment, taken by the diameter I-I of the view from above in FIG. 2.

Fig. 3 is a partial view of the second embodiment.

  Fig. 4 shows the variant.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the plate is shown at 1, between which and a bridge 2 are pivoted rollers 3 centering and leading the ring 4 to which the mass 5 is attached.

The movement, not shown, occupies the free space between plate, bridge and ring. Internally, the ring 4 carries a closed rim 7, of generally circular shape, which, when developed, would have a profile of sinusoidal shape. Against the cam thus formed presses a finger 8 of a lever 9 rotating around a pivot 10.

A spring 11 holds the finger 8 constantly applied against the cam, the rotation of which will have the effect of imparting an oscillating movement to the lever 9.

The end of this lever opposite the finger 8 carrying a pawl 12, il. It is clear that its displacement will make it possible to impart a rotational movement to the ratchet wheel 13, which, by means of interlocked mobiles 14, 15, 16, 17, raises the spring of the ball 6.

The reassembly is done under the action of the res spring 11, each time a hollow of the. came after a bump. But we could, of course, reverse this function and go back under the pressure of the cam with a weaker return spring having no other purpose than to keep the lever finger in contact with the cam.

At 18 is a pawl for retaining the ratchet wheel 13.

It is easy to see that the chain of components used and the choice of the profile of the cam make it possible to achieve such gear reduction as desired.

The ratchet. 12, on the other hand, only works in one direction of oscillation and subsequently performs a lost return stroke. We can say that in a way the cam only works on winding over half of its circumference.

. The second embodiment of FIG. 3 shows a solution allowing the use of the entire cam 19.

Here, the finger 20, pressed against said cam, belongs to. an oscillating lever. 21 carrying, on either side of its pivot axis 22, two pawls 23 and 24.

The first, 23, causes the winding as above, under the action of the return spring 25 and each time the finger 20 falls into a hollow in the cam.

The second, 24, causes the reassembly each time the finger 20 is pushed back by a bump in the cam.

Thus, whatever the direction of oscillation of the lever 21, a re-assembly takes place in all cases.

The yield is therefore better than that of the -first embodiment described. In either of these embodiments, use has been made of a return spring 11, respectively 25, to keep the finger of the lever in contact with the cam, if necessary by providing the energy required for reassembly.

The spring can also be eliminated by providing a positive transmission of movement, as is apparent from the variant of FIG. 4.

This figure shows a portion of the rotating ring 26 and the mass 27 to which it is connected.

Internally, the ring has a circular annular edge 28, in which a groove 29 is cut, leading the finger 30. By this arrangement, a positive control of the finger is obtained in both directions of oscillation and can eliminate any spring from the finger. reminder.

We could also establish a ring with a cam similar to those described, profiled in such a way that a bump corresponds to a diametrically opposed hollow, and apply against said cam a member capable of sliding radially along its axis and thus effecting a movement of back and forth as the cam turns. One or both directions of movement can then be used for re-assembly either by means of pawls, or even by rack, pinion and interposed ratchet.

Instead of fingers, the elements driven by the ring could carry rollers rolling on the cam.
