Description

Weight for automatic winding watch. The present invention relates to a mass for a self-winding watch, comprising two parts, of which. one is a heavy metal. This mass is characterized in that one of said parts has an annular projection forcibly engaged in a corresponding groove made in the other part.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the mass according to the invention.

Ires fig. 1 and? are respectively "sectional views.

The mass shown in fig. 1 consists of two parts: the first, 1, is of a relatively light metal, for example brass, while the second, 2, is of a heavy metal, for example tungsten. Part 2 constitutes the entire crown of the mass, in order to maximize its moment of inertia. The assembly of parts 1 and 2 is obtained as follows: Part 1 has an annular projection 3 which is secured to. force in a corresponding groove 4 made in part 2 of heavy metal.

In the second embodiment (FIG. 2), the heavy metal part 2 'constitutes only a fraction of the crown of the mass, the rest of this crown being formed by the part l'. As in the previous example, part 1 'has an annular projection 3 forcibly engaged in a corresponding groove 4 made in the heavy metal part 2'. One could also provide the projection on the part 2 'and. groove in part l '.

The embodiment of FIG. 2 is a little less expensive than that of FIG. 1, because of the relatively high price of heavy metals.
