Fig. 3 Teile einer zweiten Ausführungsform in Arbeitsstellung.
Plunger syringes for medical purposes.
(The present invention is based on a plunger syringe for medical purposes, which is characterized by a sleeve pushed over a glass cylinder with a lower support edge, a closure cap releasably attached to the sleeve and supported against the upper edge of the glass cylinder, and a closure cap between the support edge of the sleeve and the needle hub releasably clamped in at the lower edge of the glass cylinder, the surfaces of the glass cylinder and the needle hub which lie on top of one another when the needle hub is clamped are frustoconical surfaces.
The surfaces of the support edge of the sleeve and an annular shoulder of the needle attachment, the width of which is greater than that part of the support edge that rests on the offset when the needle attachment is centrally inserted, can be frustoconical surfaces.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, namely:
1 shows a section through a first embodiment in the working position,
2 shows the same illustration of the first exemplary embodiment in the sterilization position,
3 parts of a second embodiment in the working position.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a glass cylinder which is provided in a known manner with a scale, not shown. The upper edge 4 of the cylinder I is ground off in accordance with an outwardly sloping truncated cone surface 7. It would also be possible to provide an inwardly sloping truncated cone surface instead of the outwardly sloping one. The lower edge of the cylinder 1 is processed in the same way to form a surface 8 Kcgclstuinpf. The cylinder 1 is pushed into a housing 9, which housing has openings 13 in its central part for making the cylinder scale visible.
On the inside of the uninterrupted housing part, two internal threads 11 and 12 are provided at a certain distance from one another. The lower end of the housing 9 is crimped inwards to form a support edge 14. In the working position shown, the closure sleeve 20 of a closure cap designed as a closure screw, the head of which is designated by 15, is screwed into the internal thread 12. The screw head 15 has an opening 16 for the introduction of the piston rod 17. The sleeve 20 serves to accommodate the piston 5 in its completely retracted position.
On the outside diameter of the piston 5 there is a circular groove into which a seated metal ring 18 acting as a piston brake is inserted, which grinds on the inside of the cylinder 1 when the piston moves.
The edge of the head 15 protrudes beyond the Ge hans 9 and is designed as a polygon, while the sleeve 20 has an external thread 21, the mating thread of which is the internal thread 11 or the internal thread 12 of the housing 9. Furthermore, the sleeve 20 has a series of perforations 22 between the thread 21 and the head 15. The free end of the sleeve is ground to form a conical bearing surface 23 corresponding to the surface 7 of the cylinder. The needle hub 24 consists essentially of a base part which closes the cylinder at the bottom and in the axis of which the conical connector piece 25 intended for attaching the injection needle is located.
On the inside of its edge, the needle hub 24 has a conical seat surface 26 which is intended to lie against the corresponding surface 8 of the cylinder 1 when it is clamped. On the outside of the edge there is a sehulier-like frustoconical step 27, the width of which is greater than that, likewise frustoconical part 14 'of the support edge 14 which rests against the latter when the needle attachment is centrally inserted. In this context, the coincidence of the axis of the cylinder with that of the needle hub is understood to be used centrally.
In the last-mentioned operating state, part of the step 27 remains uncovered, so that within the limits given by the width of the step, the axis of the needle attachment can be shifted relative to the axis of the cylinder. Such a displacement is always necessary if inaccuracies have occurred during manufacture, be it the bearing surfaces 7 or 8 of the cylinder or 26 of the needle hub, which result in a tight connection, that is, the bearing surfaces 23 and 7 on the one hand and 26 and 8 on the other hand, the axes of the sleeve of the cylinder and the needle hub fall apart.
This disintegration of the axes is technically unconditional under the condition mentioned that all bearing surfaces lie tightly on one another and the tightness of the syringe is nevertheless guaranteed. It is essential. that the bearing surfaces 8, 26, 27 and 14 'are designed as truncated conical surfaces so that the needle attachment piece remains in this position even when transverse loads occur.
The dimensions of the individual parts are chosen so that when the locking sleeve is screwed into the lower internal thread 12 of the housing 9 until it rests against the upper edge of the housing, its cone-shaped support surface 23 rests against the corresponding upper support surface 7 of the Z7; lindeprandes, while the lower The cylinder support surface 8 and the support surfaces 26 of the needle hub 91 rest against one another. In this working position, the syringe can be used after an injection needle is attached to the extension 25 in a known manner.
For the purpose of sterilization, the screw plug 15, 20 is unscrewed from the internal thread 12 until the thread 21 comes to rest in the space between the two internal threads 11 and 12.
I) adureh separate the parts held together by the Ver sehlusssehraube 15, 20, namely the housing 9, needle hub 24 and cylinder 1 so far that al] e support surfaces of these parts are exposed. This sterilization position is shown in FIG.
It can be seen from this that the sterilizing agent can enter both through the throat 22 of the locking cap 15, 20 and through the perforations 13 of the housing 9 and finally also through the opening created by the lifting of the needle hub and from here has the alight booklet to flush over both the bearing surfaces 7 and 23 between the locking cap and the cylinder and the bearing surfaces 8 and 26 between the cylinder and the needle hub.
Accordingly, simply by roughening the locking screw loose and without further manipulation, it has become possible to make all surfaces to be sterilized accessible to the sterilizing agent.
If the plunger syringe is to be returned to the working position, it is sufficient to retighten the locking screw, that is to say screw it into the internal thread 12. The conical bearing surfaces 8 and 26 bring the needle hub back to its original position and a complete seal is obtained, which is increased by the wedge effect of the conical seat. The essential thing is that this return to the working position is possible without having to touch the needle hub or the lower part of the syringe with the hands, so that complete sterility is guaranteed.
The upper internal thread 11 finally serves to dismantle the entire plunger syringe for the purpose of cleaning in the simplest way by all parts can be removed as soon as the Ver sehlusssehraube 15, 20 is screwed out of the internal thread 11. In Fig. 3, a second embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, which differs from the previous one in that the locking cap is designed as a flare nut.
The upper part of the housing consequently has two external threads 11 'and 12' which, depending on the operating position, are intended to work together with a corresponding internal thread 21 'of the overhang nut.
The combination of features that make up the invention remains the same as in the first embodiment.
