B. Thoriumoxyd, Be- rylliumoxyd usw.
um Wiekeln der ersten Wendel bei der Bil dung des Zündelementes kann aueh Litzen- draht verwendet werden, in welehem Falle dann die gesamte Diehe der aus einzelnen Drähten zusammengesetzten Litze dem elektri- sehen Widerstande nach derjenigen des oben besehriebenen Drahtes entspreehen sollte;

Zitsatzpateitit to the Ilaupt.patent No. <B> 275606. </B> Ignition element for igniting finely divided organic fuels. The present invention relates to an ignition element for running through,
of the ralirens after patent application-Lieh <B> 1 </B> of the main living in a very dove-shaped (ten coil made of thin twist, with en, wound turns, whale wire at least;
i ii the surface is kitalytiseh active -, ordered metal, with the ends of the coil being provided with contacts for insertion into an electrical circuit.
The wire burns to be electrically heated to a temperature which is considerably lower than the ignition temperature of the fuel tunnel and below the crystallization temperature of the metal.
This coil is advantageously constructed in such a way that it forms a heterophasic catalyst, in #velebeio the reaction is facilitated in a first phase and the ignition takes place in a second phase.
1 # in solebes elehlriseh heated rare ignition element can be part of an autormitiseheii Zlindvorriehtung, which 1 ** i-ilii ", - is, when touched, finely divided fuel in a) flowing.ii fuel-air mixture in which the fuel burns bare stole contains,
which are difficult to ignite, siiid, züi ignite.
The present invention is a great improvement, namely an ignition element, which is a fuel source of the various <B>. \ R1 and </B> except the most difficult to ignite gases, such as even - methane,
Reliable Vernlio.
1. The ignition element according to the present invention is characterized in that the axis of the coil deviates significantly from the straight line in several bends. Here, in every bend, the wires come closer to one another on the inside of the curve and to be wider apart on the outside of the curve. This means a deviation) s1.un.c, of zones that have larger and smaller heating capacities per room unit. The preferred shape is that the coil is formed into a double coil.
In it, in a mechanically simplest and most catalytically effective form, a multitude of primary and secondary zones stored together is achieved and (<B>. </B>) the heterophase principle described in the main patent is particularly evident in a solid structure made of wire effectively realized.
In the accompanying drawing, three exemplary embodiments of ignition elements according to the invention are shown, namely: P'ig. <B> 1 </B> a diagram of an ignition system, which contains the ignition element, FIG. 2 a side view on a larger scale of an ignition element according to the invention in a schematic representation, FIG. <B> 3 </B> and 4. Similar views of two further 21, -tisrührungsformen of the ignition element.
In FIG. 1, the ignition element 1 is only shown schematically within a double flame protection system. The burners to be ignited are labeled 2 and 2 '. A gaseous mixture, which flows out of the flame arrester openings <B> 3 </B> and <B> 3 '</B>, enters the two flame arrester tubes 4 and 4' and flows to the ignition device <B> 1, </ B > where it is ignited when touched.
The flame then pulls back in the manner of a backlash through the flame tubes 4 and 4 'as far as the flame openings <B> 3 </B> and <B> 3' </B> and there generates constantly burning flames, which ignite the gas flowing through burners 2 and 2 '. While a unit with two burners is shown in this FIG. 1, it is clear that the same principle can also be used to ignite other multiple burner units or a single burner.
According to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, the ignition element itself consists of a coiled wire 5 made of catalytic metal, e.g. B. from platinum or from another metal of the platinum structure or from an alloy thereof, which is brought into a secondary shape, which has a curved structure of different shapes.
In FIG. 2 this structure is shown as a double curl with several turns and in FIG. 3 as a plurality of V-bends, and in FIG. 4 as a plurality of simple arches that form at least one S-shaped piece.
The double helix, in which a (, lightly wound primary helix of small diameter is wound in the form of a secondary helix with convolutions of large diameter in relation to the diameter of the convolutions of the primary helix, as well as other such structures with convolutions like those shown, are of the type after heterophase catalysts, in which the reaction begins in a first phase - Lind is then accelerated with the help of this first phase until ignition in a second phase.
The wire of the ignition element itself expediently has a very small diameter, preferably from approximately <B> 0.025 </B> mm to approximately <B> 0.076 </B> mm. The primary helix can have an inside diameter of approximately 0.051 min to approximately 0.38 mm and a turn dielite of 12 to 180 turns per turn Centimeter. The secondary turn can have an inside diameter of from about 0.25 to about 2.5 mm. If, for example, a wire with a diameter of <B> 0., 025 </B> or <B> 0.05 </B> mm is used, the primary helix can consist of a large number of tight turns, e.g.
B. in the order of 54 turns <U> -per </U> centimeter, the turns have an internal diameter of <B> 0.076 </B> mm, while the secondary spirals with at least two or more turns has an inner diameter of -approximately <B> 0.99 </B> inni.
The ignition element is suitable by means of the contacts to be switched into a circuit and heated by resistance heating to a temperature that is significantly below the ignition temperature of the flowing fuel-air mixture and below the recrystallization temperature of the metal Structure lies.
Such a] - before heating can be done with an extremely small current. can be achieved with a low clamping ring and a small current.
When touched - with yours. flowing fuel-air mixture immediately begins the reaction and is almost a-Li (Yenbliel # borrowed for ignition- accelerated,
where the temperature of the ignition element <U> rises </U> and whereupon the burning gas is removed from contact with the ignition element, for example by means of a flail-line back cell system or otherwise. In the drawing, the electrical power source is labeled <B> 6 </B> and can either be a battery or the power line with a transformer and # or resistors in the circuit.
Conductor wires <B> 7 </B> and <B> 7 '</B> lead to the ignition element <B> 1 </B> where. the very cave-shaped coil is attached to a stick, for example.
In the main patent mentioned above, the 1-1.eterophasenprilizip of the catalytic ignition element 1-eilauer is explained, in% velehem the reaction begins in a first of the primary phase, which in turn quickly heats up to the secondary phase, in which the flames are loose Reaction of the primary phase to plam- rii (-eiil) iltliiiig and inflammation is accelerated.
In the present case, the ignition element works in a similar way according to this heterophase principle. During the formation of the secondary helix or the like, the originally equidistant spacings 7 against the windings of the primary helix are made - line-shaped - in that the inner parts of the primary helix come closer together and the outer parts look away from each other,
so that a very different structure arises, in which numerous sections with close winding distances, which are adapted to the work in the primary phase, alternate with numerous <B> sections </B> with further winding spacings, which the work are adapted in the secondary phase and which thus offer the touching fuel-air system a large number of starting points for the primary phase of the reaction, as well as areas adjoining it,
in which the initial reaction in the secondary phase can be accelerated to inflammation.
The superiority of the ignition element according to this invention over other electrically heated ignition supply lines and over other types of such heterophase ignition elements is evident in the Grebraueli.
<I>Example<B>1:</B> </I> l # ', iii <B> 0.051 </B> mm thick wire, which is used for a primary turn], with an inner diameter <B> 01J27 </ B> mm and the winding wire wound 54 turns per centimeter, which in turn was wound in a secondary turn of two or three turns and an inner diameter of approximately 0.89 minutes, ignited reliably casual - methane in a flowing methane air mixture, if it was heated,
with un- geffflir <B> 0.25 </B> to <B> 0.6 </B> watt, at a voltage of <B> 1.3 </B> to 2.5 '#.' olt and a current strength of 0.2 to 0.225 amperes. A simple, straight coil would never be able to ignite -Hethane -under such] - even or similar conditions. A similar ignition element in the form of a coil shown in FIG. 3 or 4 works in a similar way.
<I> Example 2: </I> An ignition element made of <B> 0.051- </B> mm thick wire, which is wound in a primary coil with an internal diameter of 0.12 min and a winding density of 54 turns per centimeter which in turn was brought into the W structure according to FIG. 3, and that with <B> 0.5 </B> watts or <B> 1.9 </B> volts was heated at <B> 0.26 </B> amperes, methane ignited immediately in the above-mentioned V.ethane-air mixture. The S structure of FIG. 4 consumes a little more energy for the same application, eg.
B. <B> 0.55 </B> watts or <B> 0.29 </B> amps at <B> 1.9 </B> volts, for a coil according to the above data.
The number of turns in the secondary turns can vary, but there are at least two turns. It is usually safer to use three or four turns, and more wind lines can be used if desired. The voltage and the amperage of the electrical heating current and the total power consumption in watts must be sufficiently small to prevent harmful overheating of the wire from which the ignition element is made .
In general, the ignition device will not glow if it is not in contact with the flowing fuel-air mixture, although a slight glow may occur in some cases.
The catalyst metal of which the wire or at least the surface of the wire is made is generally platinum or an alloy of platinum with another metal of the platinum group, e.g. B. alloys of platinum and rhodium or of platinum and iridium, the platinum content normally being at least 80 or 901 / o of the alloy, or with one. or more other fit the metals, e.g.
B. Niekel, tungsten, etc. The material of the wire can be in the form of a sintered agglomerate of the catalyst metal (s), with or without other metals such as tungsten, and preferably with a small percentage or a Bruell part of one percent of distributed therein, refractory oxide, such as.
B. Thorium oxide, Beryllium oxide, etc. The cross-section of the wire can be of any shape, but will generally be circular.
Litz wire can also be used to weave the first coil in the formation of the ignition element, in which case the entire wire of the strand composed of individual wires should correspond to the electrical resistance of the wire described above;
In this case the individual wires need not necessarily be composed of the same metal, but they can consist of different metals.
Make sure with your ignition element that it is far superior to other ignition elements even when igniting town gas or so-called manufactured gas, which contains a certain amount of hydrogen.
It was found that with the ignition of solehein grass with the help of the ignition element, the consumption of electrical power was generally about 15% lower in comparison to something else similar until ignition was achieved , straight coil.
However, the most significant difference will be. When using the ignition element zLir ignitable of such gas in a multiple burner unit, because with a solefien <B> c </B> arrangement, as it is shown for example in Fig. <B> 1 </B>, miss see the combustion. products that are released from a flame opening, e.g.
B. <B> 3, </B> flow through the Rilek sehla flame tube 4. and advance to the ignition element <B> 1 </B>, with which to ignite the gas flow, which comes from the flame tube. now- <B> 3 '</B> dureb. the Rüelzselilagilaniinrolir 4 'flows, and tend to trigger the ignition element and thus disrupt the dual ignition.
A simple straight coil then becomes unreliable or slower in the ignition process than a coil according to the present invention. The much -, greater reliability of the present ignition element in the application- to the ignitioni voji two or niebi- burnerii,
together or close to each other, of the greatest weight for maximum security. The in the operating level experiments emitted by a fuel jet, z.
