La présente presse est caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend: plusieurs presses élémen taires disposées en étoile sur un support ro tatif, tournant autour dlun axe, sur lequel elles sont montées de manièreà être entrai- nées par la rotation du support età pouvoir se déplacer dans le sens de la profondeur, c'est-à-dire dans une direction parallèleà l'axe de rotation; un dispositif pour entraîner la bande de tôleà ouvrager suivant un trajet comportant une partie courbe concentrique audit axe de rotation et située dans un plan de travail perpendiculaireà cet axe;

Multiple rotary press. The present invention relates to a new press for working metal, for example for cutting, cutting, grading, to work, starting from a continuous strip of sheet metal, which has been specially known to to have a higher throughput than the presses currently in use for such work.
The present press is characterized in that it comprises: several elementary presses arranged in a star shape on a rotary support, rotating around an axis, on which they are mounted so as to to be driven by the rotation of the support and to be able to move in the direction of the depth, that is to say in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation; a device for driving the sheet metal strip to working along a path comprising a curved part concentric with said axis of rotation and located in a work plane perpendicular to this axis;
a device for guiding and controlling the elementary presses in depth, adapted so that at any time a determined number of these presses are in the working plane, with their tables in correspondence with the curved part of the sheet metal strip, while the other presses are outside the work surface and the path of this strip; and a device for activating the tools of each elementary press during its passage in the aforementioned work plan.
Elementary presses can be set up for the type of work required: die-cutting presses, stamping presses, die-cutting and stamping, cutting and arching presses, etc.
An embodiment currently preferred, but not limiting, also has the following characteristics: a) The top of the table of each elementary press has the shape of a portion of the concentric cylindrical face to < / B> the horizontal axis of rotation and the sheet metal strip is applied, by a tension effect, to the tables of elementary presses located in the operating zone, that is to say in a plane of vertical work, so to be dragged, by friction, by these very tables to the point where it leaves them.
b) The frame of each elementary press is provided with a roller, with vertical axis, engaged with those of the other presses in a fixed cam, at, < / B> profile groove determined by which the depth displacements of each elementary press are caused.
c) One or more fixed cams are provided in the operating zone to determine, by reaction on corresponding rollers linked to the tools of each elementary press, the movements of these tools, possibly in combination with reminder spells.

Figs. 3 and 4 show, respectively in profile view and front view part in section, an example of an elementary press that can be mounted on the press, object of the invention.
Fig. 5 shows, in front view, another example of an elementary press that can be mounted on the press, object of the invention.
Fig. 6 is a side view of a double-acting elementary press, which can also be mounted on the press, object of the invention.
Fig. 7 is an elevation view showing the twinning of two presses.
Figs. 8 and 9 show, in plan, two examples of cuts that can be made in a strip of sheet metal by means of twin presses.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 1 and 2, the machine comprises a frame 1 which, with the help of a removable bearing 2, supports a horizontal shaft 3, driven in rotation, for example by a train of gears 4 and 5 drawing its movement with a 6 weight.
On a staff 3a of the tree 3 is wedged A plate 7 which presents, on one side, bumps 8, arranged < B> at regular intervals, between which the elementary presses are arranged radially, for example sixteen in number, designated by P1 to P16.
Each elementary press b frame is wedged and can slide on the central hub 9, driven by the shaft to by means of the ela-vettes 10. To this end, each frame b can include a heel 11 embedded in a longitudinal groove 12 of said hub, in which it can move.
On the other hand, each b elementary b press frame is flanked, on each side, by a bar or slide 13, movable in a groove 14 of the corresponding boss, 8, of the plate 7. The slides aLix 13 are held in the grooves 1 14 by an advanced edge 15a d 'a ring 15 fixed on the perimeter of the plate 7. On each coalition formed by the two bars 13 is mounted a roller 16 with vertical axis, which roller is engaged in the groove 17 of a cam 18, fixed in the frame 1 </ B > in any suitable manner, the groove 17 being tines to react on the rollers 16 in such a way to move in depth,
that is to say in a direction parallel to the axis of the shaft 3, each frame b, under conditions which will be specified pl-Lis away.
The table t of each elementary press is shaped so that its top forms a portion of cylindrical surface concentric to the axis of the machine, and the groove 17 is formed so that at any time a certain number of elementary presses (in the present example the seven presses P1 to P7) are in the same vertical plane (XX in fig. 2), from so that at this moment the tops of the tables t of these presses form an almost continuous cylindrical barrel on which is applied with pressure the strip of lard film to working F,
so that this band is dragged by the rotation of these tables to the point where it leaves them, which is the case at where the press is located P7 at </ B> fig. 2. Said band F, which is provided by a reel (not shown to in fig. 2, but indicated in Bd to in fig. . 7), passes for example between two rollers 19 mounted on a support at the base of the machine, con turns the tables t of the seven presses Pl to P7 Being in the aforementioned vertical plane XX, then descends and passes between two other rollers 19 ',
after which it leaves to the outside of the machine where a device is provided for rolling them, for example of the known type, with friction, ensuring at the tape a constant linear speed. The resistance offered by the coil Bd is generally sufficient to ensure a suitable tension of the band F. If this were not the case, one could provide means of .. adjustable braking action on this reel or on the rollers 19. This is, however, generally superfluous, since in most cases the tools of at least one of the presses ele- < / B> mentors are at at all times engaged with the! band F, so that it is advanced not only by its to friction engagement with the tables t,
but also by the hold which the tools exert on it.
The groove 17, of the cam 18, is conformed, on the other hand, in such a way that), once any elementary press is not fitted, to the during its revolving movement, in the aforementioned vertical plane _Y-X which constitutes the operating zone, it moves back in relation to said plane, so to clear the path of the strip P . Thus, as in the present example, all the presses, apart from the seven presses P1 to P7 located in the vertical operating plane XX,
can be in the same vertical plane behind the previous one (Y-Y in fig. 2).
Apart from what has been said about the table and the guiding system of the elementary presses, these can be of any type appropriate to the kind of work. to to perform: cutting, cutting and stamping, cutting and bending, etc., and comprising, in themselves, one or more tools.
It is thus possible, for example, to mount on the machine cutting and stamping presses of the type shown in fig. 3 and 4 where c denotes the cutting tool, p the punch, f the blank press, e the ejector. In this case, the cutting tool is integral with a slider el whose head carries two rollers with horizontal axis 20 and 21.
Two fixed cams 22 and 23 (fig. 2), mounted in an overhang of the frame 1, are adapted to, respectively, cause the descent, then the gradual ascent of the 'cutting tool c, during the path portion, of each press, included in the frontal vertical plane (left of fig. 2) by reacting respectively on the roller 20 and the roller 21, things being established so that the work is finished and the part ejected, when the elementary press considered arrives at the end of this portion of the path. At this point, all appropriate means are provided, for example a receiving chute, for the evacuation of the finished parts.
One can also, for example, mount on the machine elementary presses to cutting and stamping said type of fi. 5 in which the head of the cutting tool is articulated with a lever 1, pivoting on the frame b and terminated by a roller 24. In this case, a cam 25 to </ B> two sides, lLin serving to the descent, the other to the ascent.
Still as as an example, the machine can be fitted with double-acting elementary presses, of the type shown in fig. 6. In this case, the slide el, the cutting tool holder, is fitted with two rollers 26 on which react two identical cams 27, </ B > while the punch-holder slide pl is fitted with a roller 28 on which reacts a cam 29, the upward movement of both being ensured by springs.
The present multiple press can be grouped in series with others of the same type, that is to say that it is possible to feed several juxtaposed multiple presses with the same strip of strip F circulating in continuous , so to use the maximum of the surface of this strip.
This is how one small, for example, as shown in FIG. 7, use two ju-mixed presses fed by a strip of strip F which unwinds from a coil Bd and winds up on a coil Be, the latter controlled positively by friction, so that the linear speed of the strip does not vary, notwithstanding the variations in diameter of said reel.
In the case where the elementary presses mounted on these two multiple presses each perform a single cut, it is possible, by suitably determining the spacing of the axes of the two machines, that the cuts d2 made by the second is placed between the cuts dl made by the first (see fig. 8).
By using as elementary presses presses with several tools, for example three, it is possible to obtain, by pairing two multiple presses, cuts cl 'and d2 (fig. 9) interlocking each other.
