Apparatus for filtering.
The present invention relates to an apparatus for filtering at high speed, usable in particular for filtering liquids obtained in mixing or crushing devices for fruits and various edible products, this filter possibly being part of said mixing or extracting devices or being independent thereof.
The apparatus forming the object of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a body forming a receptacle intended to receive the material to be filtered, of which the lower part of the side walls is cylindrical in shape and has multiple perforations, the lower part of which upper walls being of generally conical shape and provided internally with inclined fins, a rotary agitator device being arranged inside said container in the vicinity of said perforated cylindrical part, to project against it the particles of material to be filtered and thus to activate the filtering operation, said inclined fins being intended to retain particles of material tending to be projected out of the container.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
The figure shows in elevation the left half and in axial section the right half of the device.
The apparatus comprises a filter body 1 of generally frustoconical shape and forming a receptacle the lower part 2 of the at- ternal walls is cylindrical and perforated and its free edge fits into a grooved housing of the bottom 3 of a collecting receptacle. 4.
The body 1 fits into the container iL by pressure, thanks to the taper that the upper part of the walls of this body has. The wall has at its upper part a rim 5 projecting towards the inside of the body 1, in order to prevent the latter from being extracted from the container 4.
In the center of the bottom 3 is mounted a stirrer device comprising a rotary support 6 to which is fixed a hub provided with pallets 7; the end of these pallets is arranged parallel to the perforated part 2 or filtering surface of the body 1 and at a short distance from the latter.
A tight seal 11 is provided to prevent any leakage of material through the passage opening of the rotary support.
The collecting container 4 has an outlet nozzle formed by a duct 8.
In the body 1 are arranged fins 9 fixed obliquely thereon and the role of which is to return to the inside of the body 1 the splashes of liquid which could be directed towards the haunt, thus avoiding any effusion.
The apparatus further comprises a cover 10 which can be, like the collecting container 4, made of metal, glass, plastic or the like, while the body 1 of the filter is preferably metallic, for example aluminum.
On the outer face of the perforated cylindrical wall 2, an additional filter of porous material, for example silk, sponge rubber, sponge or any fabric, can be applied in order to clarify the filtered liquid.
The operation of the device is as follows:
By the effect of the very high centrifugal force due to the high speed at which the rotary support 6 rotates, which can be coupled directly or by means of a flexible cable to an electric motor or other source of force motor by means of a speed multiplier mechanism which can be driven by hand or by any motor, the particles of the material to be filtered introduced into the body 1 are projected against the walls of the filter and press against them and, in fact, they pass partly through the multiple ports, the thick or fibrous parts being retained.
The pallets 7 are built to withstand a speed of over 5000 rpm .; they are suitably curved and their ends are very close to the walls of the filter. The rotation of the vanes creates a pressure on the walls of the filter significantly higher than the pressure due to simple gravity, which causes a forced passage of the liquid of the material to be filtered through the filter ports producing a high flow rate of filtered liquid . Thanks to their rotation, the vanes eliminate the part of the material to be filtered retained in the filtering wall, thus leaving the openings always free, which allows them to fulfill their function uninterrupted and ensures perfect filtration depending on the size of the holes of the filtering part.
Further clarification of the filtered liquid can be obtained by covering the outer face of the filtering part 2 with an additional filter consisting of a strip of porous material, for example a strip of silk or other fabric, perforated, spongy rubber, etc.
The filtering device at high speed, the material to be filtered can reach it by very varied means, either by pressing it directly above the body of the filter 1, or by combining the device with another device producing the mixture to be filtered, for example example with a juicer device. In addition, it may have universal mechanical coupling means capable of being driven in rotation by the control axis of mixing-crushing devices for fruit or other vegetable or similar edible products, or functional devices. analogy, for example of apparatus for passing purees, concentrated juices, pharmaceutical products, etc., apparatus of which it would constitute an accessory.
The apparatus described above could be simplified in the sense that one could eliminate the collecting container 4 and only keep the body 1 to which we would add a bottom provided with a stirring device, the filtered liquid being collected in any container. .
