Dichtungseinrichtung an Azetylenentwicklern.
Sealing device on acetylene generators. It is known to arrange flap or cone closures between individual chambers in acetylene developers in order to temporarily block the passage of water vapor or acetylene.
With such closures there was the problem that the seal deteriorated more or less over time because the sealing point was located at the connection opening between the chambers and was therefore constantly exposed to the flow of dusty carbide, especially in the case of acetylene dry developers, where the Carbide tends to cement in the presence of water vapor. A lime coating formed on the sealing elements, which was partly pressed on under the action of the closing pressure of the sealing device, but partly crumbled off and thus gave rise to leaks.
To avoid this, the sealing point according to the invention is arranged outside the connection opening between the chambers.
The drawing shows two Ausführungsbei games of the subject invention.
In FIG. 1, 1 is the carbide storage space, in the lower part of which there is a conveyor 2 which conveys the carbide 3 via the chute 4 into the shaft 5, through which it enters the gasification chamber 6. As a closing element between the storage space and the gasification space, a type of cap valve is drawn here, for example, in the closed state, as it exists after the developer has been turned off, in particular after the conveyor 2 has been stopped.
The cap 7 of the valve is pressed against the sealing ring 10 located on the outside of the boundary wall of the carbide reservoir 1 with the aid of the spindle 8, which is actuated by the handwheel 9, and thus creates a gas-tight seal between the reservoir 1 and the gasification space 6. During operation, the cap 7 is pulled back so that it allows the carbide 3 to pass through the shaft 5 to the gasification space Ca. The sealing ring 10 and the associated sealing edge of the cap are located outside the connection opening 10a between the two chambers.
In Figure 2 that part of the development chamber 11 is drawn, in which the powdery hydrated lime accumulates, which is transported in the usual manner by the screw 12 on. The screw 12 opens into the collecting chamber 13, into which the lime hydrate runs and from which it is periodically withdrawn.
The seal between the collecting chamber 13 and the developing chamber 11 required during removal is achieved in the following way: A sealing ring 15 is arranged on an extension of the screw trough 14, to which a cylindrical cap 16 is assigned as a closing element.
If the chamber 13 is to be sealed off from the chamber 11, which is necessary, for example, during the periodic removal of the hydrated lime from the chamber 13, the cap 16 is placed over the screw trough 14 until it rests on the ring 15 and thus the Auslauföff opening 17 in the screw trough 14 closes, while it is released in the normal operating state, so that the lime stream can flow from the development chamber 11 to the collecting chamber 13 unhindered. The shift environment of the cap 16 can be done by means of a spindle 8, which is rotated ge for example by a hand wheel 9 or a reel wheel.
The closure cover 18 of the screw trough 14 is expediently designed as a scraper for the inside of the cap, which prevents lime hydrate from accumulating in this when the cap 16 is pulled back. Here, too, see the sealing ring 15 and the associated sealing edge in the closed state of the cap i outside the connecting opening 17 between the two chambers.
