1.a fig.
Device for fixing a spring-loaded regulating balance to a balance ring. The subject of the invention is a device for fixing a regulating balance spring to a regulating balance ring.
This device is characterized in that the inner end of the regulating hairspring is fitted in a groove formed on a part of the periphery of the ferrule and is held there by a spring-clamp secured to the vi role and exerting a pressure of the outside on said end of the hairspring.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the invention.
fia fig. 1 shows a first embodiment thereof, seen in front elevation, the ferrule being shown in section.
Fig. 2 is a side projection and FIG. 3 a plan projection of FIG. 1.fia fig. 4 shows, in front elevation, the second embodiment.
1.a fig. 5 is a section taken along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
Fig. 6 shows, in front elevation, the third embodiment.
lia fig. 7 is a next section. line VII-VII of fig. 6, while fig. 8 is a plan projection of FIG. 6.
In the drawing, the ferrule 9 can be seen with its bore 10 and its radial slot 12. This ferrule is intended to be driven out on the axis of the regulating balance. The radius of its periphery increases from one of the lips to the other of its radial slot 12. On part of this periphery is formed a median groove 13, in which is. housed the inner end 14 of the regulating balance spring. This end is attached to. the ferrule 9 by means of a spring clamp formed by a curved steel wool, secured to the ferrule and intended to exert a strong pressure from the outside on the end of the hairspring, to hold it by clamping, to a determined point on the perimeter of the ferrule, said end of the hairspring being maintained in height by the groove 13.
However, optional additional means can be provided for securing the balance spring to the ferrule.
According to the first embodiment (fig. 1, 2 and 3), the end 14 of the hairspring is bent so as to form a terminal hook 15.
The spring clamp 16 also has a. hook 17. These two hooks 15 and 17 are engaged in a notch 18 of the ferrule, while the spring-clamp 16, by its free end, exerts a strong elastic pressure from the outside on the hairspring 14 for the application. bend against the ferrule at point 20, virtual attachment point of the balance spring to the ferrule.
The second embodiment (fig. 4 and 5) comprises a strong spring-clamp 21 which is fixed to the ferrule 9 by two rivets 21 '. This flange, by its free tongue, exerts a strong elastic pressure, from the outside, on the inner end 14 of the hairspring engaged in the groove 13 of the ferrule 9 and, therefore, secures said end thereto. This constructional variant of the device offers the possibility of easily modifying, within certain limits, the operating length of the hairspring, by allowing the internal terminal end of the hairspring to be moved forward or backward, relative to the spring clamp 21, so that the point of attachment or tightening is offset on the inner end turn of the hairspring.
The same advantage is obtained by the third embodiment, represented by FIGS. 6, 7 and 8. In this example, the spring-flange 22 completely surrounds the ferrule and has at each of its ends a hook 23 respectively 24 projecting inside and with the aid of which the flange is hooked to the radial slot 12 of the ferrule 9. This flange constitutes a clamp encircling the ferrule and the internal end coil of the balance spring 14, which coil is partially engaged in the groove 13 and passes through a rectangular opening 25 placed in the hook 23 of the bridle.
The spring-clamp 22 being elastically extensible, it can be easily adapted to the ferrule 9 and exerts a strong pressure, from the outside, at point 26, on the end of the hairspring to fix it to the ferrule by clamping.
