Switch device and electric switch with timer. The present invention relates to an electrical switch and contactor device with timer, intended to move a contact member of an electrical circuit after an adjustable time, determined in advance by the positioning of an index, characterized by by the fact that it is:
consisting of a box provided with members allowing the connection and enclosing a chronometric mechanism driving indicator members, a united member that allows both the winding of the mechanism and the initial displacement of the indicator members, for the time setting - tripping, and a rocker contact ensuring, at the time of: this tripping., the locking of the chronometric mechanism.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the -dispo-, sitif forming the subject of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are perspective views showing the device showing the: two sides.
Fig. 3 shows the mechanism allowing both switching on and off at the predetermined instant.
Fig. 4 shows the stopwatch mechanism locking plate.
Fig. 5 shows the connection of the blades of the device.
Fig. 6 is a section through VI-VI of FIG. 1 and shows the winding and adjusting components: of the chronometric mechanism.
The device shown consists of a housing 1, on a large side face of which there is a dial 2 (fig. 1), opposite which moves an indicator hand 3, mounted on a button 4. The 1 door housing, in its lower part, four sockets 5, 6, 7 and 8 -in which the contact branches will be inserted (fig. 5).
The face of the case 1., opposite to that where the dial 2 is located, carries two plugs 9, fixed to the case and inserted into the current socket.
The circuit breaking or closing mechanism consists of a wafer 10 (fig. 3) movable, around an axis 11 and, the tip 12 of which is applied by means of a res out on a wheel 13, rotating with the indicator hand 3 around the axis 1.5 moved by the chronometric movement through the intermediary of the wheels 16 and 17. The gear 17 belongs to the chronometric mechanism, not shown in FIG. 3.
The wheel 13 carries a notch 18. The plate 10 carries, at its part opposite to the. point 12, lateral extensions 19 (fig. 4), in order to establish: contacts by pressing on the blades 20 (fig. 3), fixed on the sockets 5 and 8 by screws 21. Finally, the plate 10 carries a strip 22 which; , when the tip 12 of the plate 10 is located in the notch 18 of the wheel 13, exerts pressure on the balance 23 @du chronometric mechanism, by: stopping its movement.
The electrical connection of plugs 9 and sockets 6 and 7 is made as is. shown in fig. 5. The screws 2.1 pass through the housing 1 by fixing the plugs 9 to it and inside this housing 1, the contact strips 25 and 26. The strip 25 is folded back on itself and ensures: contact between the plug 9 corresponding and the chronometric movement, which transmits the current to the extensions 19 of the plate 10 and, consequently, to one of the melles 20.
The contact strip 26 connects the other plug 9 to the contiguous sockets 6 and 7, on which it is fixed by means of the screws 27. It is contiguous to the bottom of the case 1, in order to avoid any contact with the timed mechanism. - cudgel.
The: end sockets 5 and 8 are isolated from sockets 6 and 7.
The winding and adjustment device shown in FIG. 6 comprises, in the center of a glass 37 closing the orifice made in the housing 1 and externally to said housing 1, a button 4 extended by a -cylindri portion 36 carrying wolf tooth teeth and by an axis 15, said teeth and said axis remaining integral with the button 4 in a -determined direction of rotation. The axis 15 extends internally to the adjustment device and crosses the plates 29 and 30, of protection, in which it .is free to move.
The wolf tooth teeth of the cylindrical part 36, or: male drive teeth, is capable of meshing with a female toothing carried by a part 35. The indicator pin 3 is made integral with the part 3.5 by friction and will rotate with it on a dial 2, made fixed with respect to the housing 1, by means of screws 28 fixing said ca dran 2 on the protection plate 29. The part 35 is secured by its lower part - of the wheel 13 bearing the notch 1.8 for disconnecting and the toothed wheel. 16.
All of these organs: part 35, wheel 13 and toothed wheel 16, as well as the indicator needle 3, is, in the position shown in FIG. 6, free with respect to axis 15.
A toothed wheel 31, integral with the axis 15, meshes with a wheel 32 rotating about the axis 33, said axis 33 supporting the ehronomét-rique mechanism. A spiral spring 34 wound around the axle 15 is supported, on the one hand, on the toothed wheel 31, and, on the other, on the protective plate 30; pressing upwards on the toothed wheel 31, integral with the axle 15, it maintains said axle 15 in the position shown in FIG. 6.
The operation of the device described is as follows. The winding of the timed mechanism is carried out by rotating the button 4 in the position shown in FIG. 6. In this position, the button 4 simply drives, with the axis 1.5, the toothed wheel 31 and., Through the intermediary of the. toothed wheel 32, causes the winding of the chronometric mechanism.
The adjustment is carried out by exerting a pressure on the button 4. The teeth of the part 36 then drive, through the part 35, the needle 3 and the wheel 13. At the same time, the toothed wheel 31 , integral with the axis 15, is driven downwards by pressing on the spring 34, and disengages from the toothed wheel 32. When the needle 3 is placed in front of the chosen graduation of the dial 2, it releases button 4, which is returned to the initial position by spring 34.
The apparatus is adjusted so that the tip 12 of the plate 10 penetrates into the cover 18 of the wheel 13, when the needle reaches the 0 graduation of the dial. As the dial has graduations, in hours for example, the hand is placed in front of the chosen graduation, which corresponds to the time to elapse before the circuit is cut or closed.
To get the. automatic closing of an electrical circuit, the device is plugged in after having adjusted it, to a socket 'by the two plugs 9, then, the circuit to be closed, to sockets 5 and 7. The circuit is then open , .since the plate 10 does not make any contact with the blade 20 of the sleeve 5. When the needle indicates the 0 of the graduation: of the dial, the point 12 of the plate 10 penetrates -in, the notch 18 of wheel 13. Said plate rotates around axis 11. and closes the circuit by contact: of one of the lateral protrusions 19 with the strip 20 of: socket 5.
In addition, the chronometric mechanism is blocked by friction of the blade 12 on the balance 23.
To obtain the automatic cut-off of a circuit, it suffices to connect said circuit to the sockets 6 and 8 of the apparatus. The winding and adjustment button can be placed on the side of the case; this will only make the necessary modifications to the transmission of the movement to the device, the engagement or disengagement of the chronometric mechanism then being carried out at the height of the button by pressing: the latter for adjustment.
Likewise, instead of providing a fixed dial and a movable hand, a fixed index and a movable dial could be provided.
