Electric device for generating vibrations in liquids, in particular for washing purposes. It has already been proposed to clean the wash well, especially laundry, in that the wash water, in which the wash is easy to see, is caused to vibrate rapidly by a membrane immersed in the water, whereby dirt particles that adhere to the laundry to be detached and washed away. In a known washing device of this type, the membrane is caused to vibrate rapidly by means of an electromagnet which is connected to an alternating current network. The membrane oscillates here essentially freely and generates undistorted, sinusoidal oscillations at the frequency imposed by the pathogen.
It has been shown that a relatively long time is required for cleaning with such devices, because these vibrations at the usual mains frequencies of 50 or 60 periods are only able to exert a weak pulse on the dirt particles to be removed from the laundry.
In order to avoid the disadvantages of this known device, according to the invention, the movements of the vibration system are limited in at least one direction by a stop and are suddenly interrupted. In this way, vibrations of very high frequency with very steep rise and fall are generated.
The drawing illustrates ten exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention that are suitable for operation with alternating current. It shows Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through the first embodiment with a single elec tromagnet and a single membrane, Fig. 2 a longitudinal section through the second example with two membranes excited by a single electromagnet.
Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment with two electromagnets and two membranes, also in longitudinal section, Fig. 4 shows the first embodiment with a harmonic exciter in the form of a vibration bar or a corrugated Iireissheibe, again in longitudinal section, Fig. 5 shows a disk of a fifth, in remaining with the example according to Fig. 4 same example, Fig. 6 the arrangement of a device in a washing container in a schematic representation,
7 shows a sixth embodiment of a device with a device for equalizing pressure differences inside the device, partly in longitudinal section, FIG. 8 shows a longitudinal section through part of the device according to FIG. 7, FIG. 9 shows a seventh embodiment in longitudinal section, FIG 10 part of an eighth, the rest with. 9, FIG. 11 shows a ninth embodiment also in longitudinal section, and FIG. 12 shows a tenth embodiment again in longitudinal section.
In the device shown in Fig. 1 10 is a vibrating body forming Mem brane made of metal in the form of a circular disk. In the middle of the disk, a bolt 11 is attached, with which a laminated iron body 12 is firmly connected as an armature of an electromagnet 13. The electromagnet and the armature form the drive system. The core 14 of the magnet with the coil 15 is attached to the housing part 16 of the device waterproof be. The membrane 10 is clamped between the edge of the housing part 16 and a protective grid 17. The membrane covers the housing from the outside in a watertight manner, as a result of which the electromagnetic drive system is built into a watertight housing which consists of parts 16 and 10. The bolt 11 is guided at the end remote from the membrane in a spring 18 clamped on the housing.
A tube 19 is attached to the housing as an extension of the magnet axis, in which the supply line to the magnet coil is guided and which is used to hold the device.
When operating the device, the elec tromagnet pulls its armature 12 periodically to the rhythm of the alternating current against the magnet core 15 and lets go of it again. The movement of the armature is transmitted to the mem brane 10 and this is forced to oscillate corresponding to twice the network frequency. The full oscillation path that the membrane would like to cover when the armature is tightened is not used. The movement of the armature or the membrane in the direction of the magnetic core is much more suddenly interrupted by the fact that the armature 12 hits the magnetic core 14, which acts as a stop.
The membrane is shaken by this impact, that is to say the shape of the vibration curve of the membrane is influenced in such a way that the fundamental vibration of the membrane is superimposed on very high frequency harmonics with very steep rise and fall.
The way the device works is that the vibrations of the membrane accelerate the molecules surrounding the membrane and the liquid. The strongly accelerated water particles are particularly suitable and able to tear loose dirt particles from the laundry fiber, which have already been loosened by the detergent.
In the embodiment of Fig. 2, two coaxially arranged membranes 25 and 26 made of stiff material are provided, which are clamped together fmnit two protective grids 28 and 29 on the edge of a ring 27 and bil det part of the waterproof housing in which the drive system is built is. The two membranes are connected to the drive system in such a way that the magnet core 14 is firmly connected to the membrane 25 and the armature 1.2 of the electromagnet is connected to the membrane 26. Both membranes are therefore moved tromagnet by this single elec- tromagnet. The support tube 19 is let into a hole 30 of the ring 27 and fastened therein. The core 14 of the electric magnet serves as a stop for the armature 12.
The embodiment of FIG. 3 differs from that of FIG. 2 in that the two membranes 31 and 32 are each connected to an armature 33 and 3.1 one of two elec tromagnets, the cores 35 and 36 on one with the ring housing 37 of the device. vei-bunden.en plate 38 are fastened. The membranes are parallel to each other and form the side walls of a drum-shaped space.
The embodiment of Fig. 4 differs from that of Fig. I only in that an additional vibration body 40 is arranged on your attached to the membrane 10, the armature 12 bearing bolt 39, which has a natural frequency that is far above that the membrane lies. The oscillating body suspended in its center has the shape of a beam that tapers towards its ends.
However, it can also be designed as a circular disk which, as shown in FIG. 5, is provided with annular waves. Such additional vibrating bodies are particularly suitable for superimposing strong harmonics on the basic vibrations of the membrane when the armature hits the magnetic core.
The device is extremely easy to use. After seeing in the boiler 55 (Fig. 6) provided with the usual detergents hot, preferably boiling washing water and the laundry are and the device is hung in the boiler so that its entire housing is submerged under the water level, the electrical change power switched on. To set the immersion depth of the device, for example, an adjustable ring 56 with a locking screw can be attached to the insertion tube 19, which at the same time covers the opening 57 in the lid 58 of the washing vessel. The device is expediently connected to the mains via a transformer, which reduces the voltage to a value that is harmless to body contact.
If one builds an interrupter device like a Wagner hammer into the device and if necessary also provides a capacitor for this, the device can be operated with direct current.
The vibration generator shown in Fig. 7 has basically the same structure as the device according to Fig.1. It consists of a circular disc-shaped metal membrane 10, which is clamped at its outer edge on the Ge housing 16 and is connected airtight to the housing by means of a sealing ring 120. The laminated armature body 12 of an electromagnet 13 is fastened to the membrane in its center by means of a bolt 11.
The opening 160 for the bolt is airtightly closed sen by a sealing washer 170. The iron core 14 of the electromagnet with the excitation winding 15 sits on a web 20 which is made fixed to the bottom of the housing. A tube 19 is let into the bottom of the housing and is expediently welded tightly to it. At the free end of the pipe res a check valve 220 is provided in order to prevent the outside air from entering the interior of the housing 16. The valve (FIG. 8) has a valve disk 230 with a conical bearing surface 240, which sits on a correspondingly designed seat at the end of the pipe and is pressed against this surface by a spring 250. This is supported against a union nut 260 which is screwed onto the pipe and which is provided with an opening 270 for the passage of air.
In this way, the entire space enclosed by the membrane and the housing 16 with the tube 19, in which the drive system is seated, is sealed against the ingress of moist outside air. The supply cable 280 for the exciter coil 15 is laid in the tube 19 and passed through a side hole 290 of the tube airtight. A nipple 300 is screwed into the bore. A locking ring 310 is located between the nipple and the pipe 19.
Has at the outer end. the nipple has a funnel-shaped seat 320 for a conical rubber ring 330, which is pressed by means of a screw nut 340 against the seat and the cable 280 1 that is passed through it.
If during operation of the device z. B. in hot water, the air enclosed in its housing by the water from the outside and by the electrical losses of the drive system is strongly heated from the inside, the resulting overpressure opens the check valve, whereby the pressure difference in the housing compared to the outside air out, will be flat. After completion of the equalization process, the valve closes the interior again against the entry of outside air.
As long as the device remains in operation, there will be no pressure differences between the inside of the housing and the outside air that would be sufficient to disrupt proper operation. However, as soon as the device continues to be operated in cold water or is switched off, removed from the hot water and placed in a cool place, if the enclosure is completely airtight, a negative pressure can develop inside the housing that is at least sufficient for the membrane to work properly to prevent until the device has warmed up sufficiently again. However, it has been shown that such a tight encapsulation cannot be achieved with simple means.
Over time, the pressure is equalized, be it via the cables or the cable gland or the valve.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 9, no valve is used as in the example according to FIGS. 7 and 8, but suitable means are used to ensure that the space enclosed by the housing 16 and the diaphragm 10 can accommodate any change in the pressure of the can adjust the air in it without the difference between the pressure in the housing and the outside air taking on an extent that could interfere with the effectiveness of the device.
For this purpose, for example, on the inside of the housing wall, flexible hollow bodies 400 are placed, which in the exemplary embodiment are formed by a bellows 410 made of thin sheet metal, which is hermetically sealed against the inside of the housing by a cover 420, while the the other end of the bellows is soldered or welded to the housing wall. The housing wall has holes 430 at the points enclosed by the bellows.
Instead of such sheet metal capsules, bubble-like hollow bodies made of rubber or similar materials could also be attached. In Fig. 10, such a hollow body 400a is Darge provides. It is provided with a short piece of pipe 400b which passes through the opening 430 in the housing wall. The pipe section has a flange 400e, which is pressed against the housing wall by means of a coupling ring 400d. When the air pressure in the housing increases, the bellows are compressed and the interior space in the housing is thus enlarged. As a result, the overpressure is limited to a level that is harmless to the action of the vibration generator.
The exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 11 is essentially constructed like the device according to FIG. The electromagnetic drive system 13 is enclosed in a pot-like, watertight housing .I50, which is closed airtight ver by a cover plate .160. The cover plate has an opening 470 in the middle through which a bolt 480 protrudes from the interior of the housing. In the annular space between the Bol zen and the inner edge of the cover plate, an elastic bending body in the form of a ge corrugated membrane 490 is arranged, which verbun with the bolt and the cover plate is airtight, z. B. by soldering.
The bending body is just dimensioned so that the bolt can perform the longitudinal movement required for the operation of the drive system.
At the inner end of the bolt of the laminated armature body 12 of the electromagnet 13 and at the outer end of a vibration body in the form of a metal membrane 10 be fastened. The membrane is attached to the outer edge of a ring 500 which is firmly connected to the housing 450 by some webs 510.
Here the effect of an overpressure created in the housing is rendered harmless by the fact that the area on which the overpressure can act and act on the moving parts of the drive system is as small as possible. The entire area of application for the compressive force is made up of the area of the membrane 490 and the cross-sectional area of the bolt 480.
In FIG. 12, yet another embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown semishematically. Here the actual housing 520 enclosing the electromagnet 13 is kept as small as the dimensions of the electromagnet allow, so that the space enclosed by the housing and the membrane 10 is as small as possible. Preferably, the drive system unnecessary space is smaller than the space occupied by the system. As in the other exemplary embodiments, a pipe 19 is connected to the bottom of the housing, through which the power supply line 280 of the device is passed to the electromagnet.
The tube is expanded at the free end to a Kam mer 530, so at a point that is as far away as possible from the housing 520 and that does not immerse in the hot water. The volume of the chamber exceeds that of the housing 520 in the example shown by a multiple. It is advisable to make it at least twice as large. The purpose of this measure is also to keep the overpressure arising in the housing 520 when the air therein is heated low. This is achieved, as mentioned, in that the home operation of the device in the hot water located housing 520 has a much smaller volume for the air than the chamber 530, which remains much colder than the housing because it looks outside Water tank is located.
If the air enclosed in the housing 520 expands as a result of heating, it will mix with the cooler air in the pipe 13 and the chamber 530 and assume a mean temperature above the outside air, corresponding to the volume and temperature ratios of the two air volumes , which is significantly lower than the overtemperature that the air in the housing 520 would assume if the chamber 530 were not available.
