Clasp with locking device: The present invention relates to a clasp with locking device, comprising two parts which can fit into each other and each intended to be fixed at the end of a flexible link. .
This clasp is characterized in that at least one of the interlocking parts carries at least one lateral lock subjected to the action. a spring tending to push it towards the pa king of the other part, which has at least one perforation intended to receive it.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention applied to a bracelet.
Figs. 1. and 2 are two respective longitudinal sections of each of the interlocking parts of which the clasp is composed.
Fig. 3 is a cross section through III-III of fig: 2.
Fig. 4 is an axial section of the clasp in the closed position.
In the example chosen, the bracelet is made up of two metal cords 1, the ends of which are fixed respectively in: two cuffs 2 and 3 intended to fit into one another and the whole of which constitutes the clasp.
The inner sleeve 2 carries, in a tubular element 4 welded to the casing 5 so lidaire of the cords, a leaf spring folded back on itself 6. Each end of this leaf 6 carries a latch 7, which it tends to push outward. The locks 7 freely pass through guide openings 8 diametrically opposed in the wall of the tubular element 4.
The outer sleeve 3 has two diametrically opposed perforations 9 at a distance from the free edge 10 slightly greater than the distance between the guide orures 8 and the shoulder 11 on the so-called inner sleeve 2. The edge 10 is chamfered towards the end. 'interior; in 12, and the free ends of the locks are rounded.
When fitting the inner sleeve 2: in the outer sleeve 3, the chamfer. 12, cooperating with the rounded end of the bolts 7, retracts these inwardly against the spring 6, until these bolts arrive in front of the perforations 9 through which they are driven out. by the leaf spring 6, which ensures the rusting worm of the clasp in the closed position. The locks then protrude out of said perforations 9.
To facilitate opening of the clasp, the receiving cuff 3 (which has the largest fitting diameter) has on its substantially cylindrical outer surface two depressions 13 around the perforations 9. By exerting pressure with the finger D in these depressions 13, the user produces the partial depression of the bolts 7, as seen in FIG. 4.
It is then sufficient to separate the .two cuffs from one another to unlock the clasp, the inner edge of the perforations 9 acting on the rounded end of the locks in order to erase them.
It is possible to conceive of an embodiment which is the reverse of that which has just been described and shown. In this case, it is the outer cuff which would carry the side bolts, springs urging said bolts towards the pa king of the inner cuff which has perforations intended to receive the end of the bolts.
