I>2</I></B>C<B><I>0</I></B> +<U>211</U>.
Gasstrom nicht wesentlich be wegt.
Process for the production of methane-containing combustible gases from finely divided solid fuels. The invention relates. Look at the generation of inethane-containing combustible gases, which can be used for heating, lighting and other purposes, from finely divided solid fuels.
It is known to use lumpy solid fuels, e.g. B. coke, in a gasifier operated in the manner of a known gas generator with a stationary fuel bed, in which a pressure above atmospheric pressure (z. B. 8 Atü) is maintained, to be converted into a gas containing carbon oxide, hydrogen and Methane, the latter up to about 8%.
In another patent application, the inventor has proposed an improved method and improved devices for the gasification of finely divided solid fuels. The improved method according to the inventor's earlier proposal is to continuously convert a finely divided fuel into a pressurized one To introduce a stream of oxygen or oxygen-containing gases under such conditions
that a preferably homogeneous suspension of the fuel arises in the gaseous media. The suspension formed in this way is then continuously introduced in the form of one or more jets into a gasification room in which there is an increased dip and in which the temperature is above the ignition temperature of the suspension of solid fuel in the flow of oxygen or oxygen-containing gases so that you can see the suspension ignite quickly.
The zone in which the ignition of the suspension and the exothermic reaction take place is surrounded by a shell of water vapor flowing essentially in the same direction, which is endothermic with. Carbon can react to form a mixture of carbon oxide and hydrogen.
In the gasification room, a central high-temperature zone is maintained at the same time, in which exothermic reactions between oxygen and the solid fuel particles take place, and an outer zone of low temperature in which the endothiral reactions take place.
The reaction space of the gasification chamber is functionally divided into these two zones, namely the primary zone or the zone of partial oxidation and the zone which surrounds the primary zone and in which steam or carbonic acid or (lemisehe of both endotherm solid, finely divided fuel react.
When gasifying solid, finely divided fuels in suspension with oxygen or oxygen-containing gases and water vapor, primarily only gases are produced that are practically free of hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbons released when bituminous coals are heated, for example, are completely decomposed due to the high temperature prevailing in the above-mentioned primary zone of the gasification chamber, so that the gas produced is practically free of hydrocarbons.
The presence of hydrocarbons, in particular methane, in the combustible gas produced is advantageous for many purposes, in particular if the gas is to be used for heating in smelting furnaces or other industrial furnaces. The housing of smelting furnaces and other industrial furnaces is particularly favorable when the combustion of the heating gas takes place with a strongly luminous flame.
Gases that are free from hydrocarbons do not form any glowing flames, and it is therefore necessary to add hydrocarbons to such gases before they are burned, which can be done, for example, by the known carburizing of the gas. The carburization of a gas, e.g. B. of water gas, but is an un convenient process that also significantly increases the price of the gas.
The invention solves the problem of generating methane-containing fuel gases from finely divided solid fuels of any type, namely the method according to the invention is characterized in that the finely divided fuel is mixed with oxygen under increased pressure but at a temperature below the ignition temperature the mixture is continuously blown into a pressure-resistant reaction chamber maintained at an elevated temperature and ignited and reacted there without any significant change in pressure, with an under increased pressure in the space between the exothermic reaction zone and the wall of the reaction chamber,
endothermic with. Carbon-reactive agent is introduced, and that the gases produced in this way and containing carbon oxide and hydrogen are then added at increased pressure. as a catalyst we kendem smoldering coke is brought into contact. The endothermic reacting agent will generally be water vapor. However, especially if the fuel itself already contains a comparatively large amount of water, some of the water vapor can be replaced by carbon dioxide. The formation of methane from carbon dioxide and hydrogen or from carbon and water vapor is. known per se.
There. this reaction advantageously takes place in the temperature range between 500 and 800. It is advisable that the gas generated by the gasification of the solid fuel is cooled to a temperature between 500 and 800 without any significant pressure drop before it comes into contact with carbon dioxide. The cooling of the gas can, for. This can be done, for example, by adding a certain amount of colder, already treated gas to the hot gas, that is to say of gas that has already passed through the low-temperature coke contact stage.
The reaction of methane formation also requires an increased Di-L1ek. For example, a particularly high yield of methane is obtained if the pressure is kept at about 40 atmospheres and the temperature at about 700 during the reaction.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method, which is characterized by the fact that a reaction chamber in which the gasification of the solid fuel takes place with. is connected to a shaft-like container that contains carbon black.
Means can be provided between the gasification chamber and the shaft-like container in order to cool the temperature of the gases produced in the gasification chamber, which contain carbon oxide and hydrogen, to the temperature which is most favorable for the reaction with the Sch-, Velkoks. For example, these means can consist of a cooler.
But you can also add gases of lower temperature, which can also have a certain composition, or water vapor or a mixture of both, so that a mixture is ent, which has the desired temperature and composition, to the gases withdrawn from the gasification chamber.
The gassing room and the one with. Their associated reaction chambers are operated under essentially the same increased pressure. This pressure and the size of the chamber (reaction space) depends. depends on how. the D-tethane content of the finished gas should be high. A pressure of 8 to 10 atm. is advantageous, for example, to produce a gas with about 8 to 12 a / o methane.
If the pressure is increased, the valuable methane content of the finished gas also increases; For example, at 40 atmospheres a methane content of around 40% in the gas generated may be sufficient.
Under black coke, the residue is standing ver, the stillation by the well-known dry De or degassing of bituminous fuels such as coal, lignite, lignite, but also z. B. wood or the like is produced and which is a highly reactive solid fuel that holds only comparatively small amounts of combustible gases ent.
Such a coke is preferably by heating bituminous Brennstof fen to temperatures of about. 450 to 600 "C generated ..
The finely divided solid fuel that processes. is to be, is advantageously ground so finely that only 10 to 25% remain on a sieve of 4900 meshes per cm2. When processing such a fuel according to the invention, about 95% of the carbon contained in the fuel ent are converted into gaseous constituents.
The amount of oxygen or oxygen-containing gas that is introduced into the gasification chamber with the solid, finely divided fuel. is dimensioned so that the solid fuel is partially oxidized. In the process, carbon oxide is mainly formed, and that is not. The gasified part of the solid fuel is heated to high temperatures by the strongly exothermic reaction. The remaining fuel is therefore able to exit. from the primary zone, in which the partial Oxy dation is going on, with an endothermic gasifying agent such. B.
Water vapor to react with the formation of further carbon monoxide and hydrogen. As a result of the high pressure that is used in the gasification chamber in the process according to the invention, temperatures in the primary zone are so high that the water vapor to be introduced into the gasification chamber does not need to be preheated or only needs to be preheated moderately, for example to temperatures between 400 and 600 'C.
In the attached drawing, a device suitable for realizing the invention is shown in a vertical section.
The Einriehtung shown is: intended for the gasification of finely divided solid fuels such as pulverized coal, brown coal, lignite or the like. The fuel is advantageously pulverized so finely that it only leaves a residue of 10 to 25 1 / o when sieved on a sieve with 4900 meshes per em2.
The finely divided solid fuel to be processed is filled into the storage bunkers 1, 2, which are closed after filling. The finely divided solid fuel is fed to a mixing device 5 by means of screw conveyors which are arranged in the housings 3, 4, to which oxygen or oxygen-containing gas is fed through the pipe 6. In the mixing device 5, the most homogeneous possible suspension of the finely divided solid fuel in the gaseous medium to be supplied is produced. The mixture of gas and solid fuel is introduced into the gasification chamber 8 through a water-cooled pipe 7.
This is made of. refractory walls 9, which are arranged in a di-lech-proof jacket 10. are. The gasification chamber 8 expands from the mouth of the water-cooled raw reg 7 from something. To the 'mouth of the pipe 7 is.
an annular opening 11 is provided through which water vapor can be introduced into the gasification chamber 8, in such a way that functionally a primary zone 12 is formed in the gasification chamber in which the finely divided fuel is partially oxidized by the oxygen, and that this on the drawing with 12 be recorded primary zone is surrounded by a flowing envelope of hydrogen, as indicated at 13, which isolates the walls 9 of the gasification chamber from the primary zone 12, in which very high temperatures prevail. This prevents the high temperature of the primary zone 12 from affecting the walls 9.
Fuel that is not implemented in the primary zone 12. must, before it reaches the walls 9, pass through the water vapor layer 13, where the carbon endothermically reacts with water vapor. and the temperature of the fuel particles is lowered below the melting or softening point of the fuel cell. As a result, the fuel residue cannot see. on the surface of the walls 9.
The water vapor is fed through the pipes 14. Under certain circumstances it is possible to preheat the water vapor a little before it enters the gasification chamber, for example to temperatures between 600 and 8001 C. This can be done in a simple manner by using your Steam with hot combustion gases, which is generated in additional burners 15. which are provided on the upper part of the carburetor.
The temperature at which the gases essentially consisting of carbon oxide and hydrogen, which have been formed in the gasification chamber 8, have at the outlet from the chamber 8, is. comparatively high. It may be 1000 to 1200 ° C.
Cold gas and / or water vapor is therefore added to the gases when they leave the gasification chamber 8, for example through the opening 16. Furthermore, the lower part of the gasification chamber is advantageously connected to a cooling jacket 17 which also absorbs heat from the hot gas produced and lowers its temperature.
The residue resulting from the gasification in the chamber 8 is partly deposited on the bottom 18 and can be removed from there into a container 19 in which essentially the same dinick as in the gasification chamber 8 prevails. The gas produced, the temperature of which may be around 800 C, passes through the pipe 20 into a shaft arranged next to the gasifier 8. 21, which consists of fireproof masonry, which is also arranged in a pressure-proof jacket 22.
The shaft. 21 is filled with Sehwelkoks, which is fed from the banker 23 via an intermediate container 2.1.
At the bottom is. the shaft 21 is provided with a tubular extension 25 which protrudes into an enlarged space 6. The filling of the shaft 21 forms. therefore free breaches within the extension 26, as indicated at 27.
The gas pipe 20 opens into the free space above the slopes 27, and therefore the gas flowing through the pipeline 20 can enter the filling of the extension 26 and the shaft 21. The gases come into intimate contact with the vision, so that the Kolilenoxvd contained in them and the hydrogen are converted.
The working pressure in shaft 21 is. essentially that, uleielie as in the gasification chamber 8, is of course reduced by the pressure that the gases suffer when flowing through the filling of the shaft 21.
The methane-containing gases are drawn off through the pipes 28 at the upper end of the shaft 21. You then get into a dust separator 29 and from there through the pipeline 30 into a Waselier 31. In the apparatuses 29 and 31, a high pressure is also advantageously maintained, which significantly facilitates the selieirlun of the dust and the washing out of the gas. The finished gas can finally be withdrawn at 32.
Because the gas withdrawn from the gasification chamber S through the pipeline 00 into the reaction shaft 21 still contains a certain amount of dust-like components. it is inevitable that dust-like fractions will settle on the filling of the shaft 21 and reduce the reactive surface of the filling or relocate the glass paths.
It is therefore continuously or intermittently out of the shaft. Part of the filling is deducted by the #, ustrabeeinriehtun 33 in a Ge ± ä.L) 31.
The consumption of solid carbon in the Scliaelit 21 is usually very limited, because practically only the reaction <B><I>2</I></B>C<B> <I> 0 </I> </ B> + <U> 211 </U>. = C11, + C02 for methane formation. This reaction is only accelerated catalytically by the low-temperature coke, without the low-temperature coke essentially taking part in the reaction.
However, it is possible to convert part of the low-temperature coke into methane according to the reaction equation C + 2S2 = CII4, so that a small amount of fuel is consumed. becomes.
The fuel withdrawn from the shaft 21 into the container <B> 34 </B> is, if necessary, sieved off and freed from the dusty components, and it can then be fed back to the storage container 23 in order to use it again to fill the shaft 21 .
The smoldering coke is used in such a lump size that the resistance which the gas flow finds in the coke column 27 is not necessarily great. Good results were achieved, for example, with a low-temperature coke that was 3 to 10 mm in size. With a piece of this size, the pulp is usually at rest and thus becomes irrelevant. Gas flow not moved significantly.
