Fig. 1.
(Fig. 4g).
Circuit with two relays to which pulses can be supplied by means of a contact device and which is set up in such a way that it returns to the starting position after two pulses. The invention relates to a circuit with two relays to which pulses can be supplied by means of a contact device and which is set up in such a way that it returns to the starting position after two pulses.
Such a circuit can e.g. B. can be used as a counting element in all cases in which the closing of a contact causes a certain action and then has to be undone by closing the contact again. This takes place e.g. B. instead of talk-back circuits for an automatic telephony system.
Circuits are already known in which a number of counting elements are put together in a cascade circuit to form a circuit with which the number of closings of a pulse contact can be recorded in the form of a combination of excited relays that characterizes this number.
The number of pulses is expressed in the two-number system, in the sense that the first counting element indicates the number of units, the second counting element the number of two-digit numbers, the third element the number of four-digit numbers, etc. An unexcited counting element counts for zero and an energized counting element for 1.
The number of pulses: which can be recorded in this way by a counting circuit with n counting elements is 2 '@ - 1, if. the combination in which all the relays are in the rest position is not counted.
When pulses are supplied, "" all combinations are run through one after the other, so that the number of pulses that can be recorded is also 2 "-1.
Such circuits can e.g. B. be used in a register for an automatic telephony system to determine the number of dialing pulses sent by the subscriber device or to set a relay selector of such a system. Another application is in the field of electrical computing machines.
The ver used in the known circuits counting elements contain relays with two or three windings. In contrast, the two relays of the counting element according to the invention need to contain only one Wickhmg each, so that these relays can be constructed more simply and normal telephone relays can be used.
The invention is characterized in that the winding of the first relay, a working contact of the first relay and the winding of the second relay are connected in series between the poles of a power source and that the contact device is switched on when the second relay is de-energized ,
is connected in parallel to the series connection of the working contact and the winding of the second relay, and that this contact device when the second relay is energized by means of working and interruption contacts of the second relay parallel to the series connection of the first working contact and the winding of the first Relay is switched.
In such a circuit, a number of counting elements can be cascaded so that the series connection of a break contact of the first relay and a working contact of the second relay of the preceding counting element is gebil det.
On the basis of the embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown for example in the accompanying drawing, the invention is explained in more detail below.
In the drawing: Figs. 1 and 2 each show a circuit of a counting element according to the invention, Fig. 3 shows a number of counting elements connected in cascade, Fig. 4 shows the order in which the various relays of the circuit of FIG are excited when pulses are applied to the circuit.
The circuit of the counting element according to FIG. 1 contains two relays, of which the first I is equipped with a normally open contact la, the second relay II with the changeover contacts 2a and 2b. The mutually facing ends P-Lind S of the windings of the relays I and II are not shown with -vifferent poles.
Connect power source. In the state shown in the drawing, the two relays are energized. The operation of the circuit is fol lowing. When the pulse contact i is closed, the relay I is excited via the interruption contacts of the changeover contacts 2a and 2b.
By closing the contact la, a holding circuit for the relay I in series with the winding of the relay II is prepared. The: Relay II is not energized here because its winding is short-circuited via the contacts la, 2a, i and 2b. This short circuit is canceled when the pulse contact i is opened, so
that now also the relay II in series with the winding of the relay II and contact la catches current and the changeover contacts 2a are switched to P and 2b to P.
When the Impulskon clock i closes again, the winding of the relay I is short-circuited via the contact 1a, the working contact 2ca, the pulse contact i and. the normally open contact 2b, whereby the relay I is de-excited and the contact la is opened.
The relay II remains held via the normally open contact 2a, the pulse contact i and the normally open contact 2b until this circuit is interrupted by opening the pulse contact i and the initial position is restored.
The circuit of the counting element according to FIG. 2 is different from the circuit according to FIG. 1, in that the working contact of the changeover contact 2a is connected to the point P instead of the point R,
and the working contact of the changeover contact 2b is connected to the point R instead of the point P. The mode of operation of the circuit according to FIG. 2 corresponds to that according to FIG. 1,
because the pulse contact i is switched between the same points in the excited as well as in the originally excited state of relay II. Only when relay II responds, the changeover contact 2a switches to P and the changeover contact 2b to R.
In the case of the cascade connection of counting elements shown in FIG. 3, two counting elements are shown as well as the contact device of a third element. It will be evident that the row can be increased by any number of counting elements.
The counting elements according to FIG. 3 correspond essentially to that according to. 1. The first relay I of each counting element is also provided with a break contact 1c which, in series with the working contact 2c of the second relay II, forms the contact device of the following counting element. The relays can also be provided with contacts (not shown) for closing or interrupting current paths.
In the embodiment shown, who the pulses by means of the pulse contact i fed to the first counting element. These pulses are shown in Fig. 4a, while Figs. 4b and 4c show the time intervals in which the relay I ,. and IIl of the first counting element are energized.
The relay II is energized from the beginning of the first pulse to the beginning of the second pulse (tö t2), the relay II ,, from the end of the first pulse to the end of the second pulse (do t3).
The contact device 1c, 2c, of the following counting element will be closed during the time in which the relay I, in the rest position and that relay II, is energized. The figure shows that this applies during the time intervals t2 t3, tg t7 and so on. These time intervals are indicated in FIG. 4d.
The second pulse of the first counting element corresponds to the first pulse of the second counting element, the fourth pulse of the first counting element to the second of the second element, etc. Likewise, the second pulse of the second counting element corresponds to the first pulse of the third counting element, the fourth pulse of the second element to the second pulse of the third element, etc. (Fig. 4g). 4e and 4f show the time intervals in which the relays I2 and II2 are energized.
Naturally, the cascade connection of counting elements can also be performed by means of counting elements according to FIG. 2 or with a combination of the counting elements according to FIGS. 1, 2.
