Additional patent to main patent number 261362. Process for the production of an azo carbon. It has been found that a valuable azo dye can be obtained
if, on the one hand, 1 alol of diazotized 2-amino-1-metlioxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid amide and, on the other hand, 1 alcohol of diazotized 2-amino-l-oxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid amide with 1 ATol 1,1 '- [diphenylene- (4 , 4 ')] -bis- (3-methyl-5-pyrazolone) of the formula

united.
The nice color is a red-brown powder that is in dilute alkalis with orange-yellow, in concentrated sulfuric acid with. dissolves yellow color and stains cellulose fibers in real reddish yellow shades using the one or two bath post-copper plating process.
The couplings can be carried out in any order given the present procedure. It is advisable to carry out the first coupling (e.g. that with the diacotized 2-amino-1-methoxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid amide) in an acidic, preferably acetic acid medium, and then to carry out the second coupling in an alkaline medium. The work-up of the dye obtained can be carried out in a manner known per se, e.g.
B. by filtering off and drying. Example: 2 parts of 1-methoxy-2-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid amide are diazotized in the usual way in a hydrochloric acid solution and then with a sodium acetate-containing, acetic acid suspension of 3.5 parts 1 , 1 '- [Diphenylen- (4,4')] -bis- (3-methyl-5-pyrazolone) stirred with ice-cooling until no more diazo compound can be detected.
It is then combined with the diazo compound obtained by diazotizing 1.9 parts of 1-oxy-2-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid amide and neutralized with sodium carbonate, adding so much sodium carbonate solution that brilliant yellow paper shows clearly alkaline and is left with cooling until Stir the disappearance of the diazo compound. The dye is filtered off and dried.
