Metallfassung.
Metal frame. The usual metal frames, e.g. B. for glazing, mostly consist of rolled profiles or are made up of a plurality. composed of sheet metal profiles and, as a result of their manufacturing process, require unreasonably high building materials and labor, which means that the costs are not insignificant. Occasionally, one-piece sheet metal profiles were used, but these resulted in inaccurate support of the glass on the frame or inadequate sealing of the panel against the outside of the window.
The metal frame, e.g. B. for glazing or the like, according to the invention ver combines the advantages of known designs while avoiding the disadvantages mentioned above and consists of a U-shaped sheet metal web with at least one flange-like bent web end, which has a laterally ra lowing, in cross-section approximately semicircular hollow flange forms.
With a metal frame only formed with a flange, d. H. In the case of a frame rod, the end of the flangeless leg of the U-shaped sheet metal web can extend to the hollow flange of the other leg and be cemented there.
Through this training, a Me tallaufnahme with a one-piece overall profile he aims, which can be produced by cold means, even from scrap metal, has low weight, causes little cost and not only gives increased resistance despite great simplicity, but also because of the strong curvature of the flange to a hollow flange with a semi-circular cross-section approaching the end of a board to be attached, z. B. made of glass, is amply surrounded on all sides with sealing material.
As a result, the panel is completely sealed off from the frame, in particular its outside, and is also stored favorably on it. It does not matter whether the frame is formed by pressing, rolling or the like; For simplicity, bending will be preferred. The metal frame is advantageously formed from sheet metal or strip strips, favorably from rust-free strip steel or aluminum.
The drawing shows a diagrammatic embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
The illustrated metal frame for two-sided glazing consists of a sheet metal strip 1, which is bent together on both sides by 90 about its longitudinal center line to form a double-legged web 2, while its two edge parts to increase the strength of hollow flanges 3 with an approximately semicircular cross-section from the web have turned. In the case of non-rustproof metal, the open ends of the double-legged web are hermetically sealed by means of a coat of paint or the like and thus completely protected against the effects of the weather or the ingress of moisture.
In the case of the metal frame with a flange 5, i.e. H. In the case of the frame rod, the end of the flangeless leg of the U-shaped sheet metal web 4 extends to the hollow flange 5 of the other leg that covers it and is cemented in there.
6 is the sealant, mostly. Putty, which surrounds the end of the glass 7 on all sides. Due to the curvature of the flanges 3, 5 there is so much sealing agent 6 between them and the glass panel that a good support and perfect seal is ensured, while in all previously known designs the never quite flat surface of the panel on the also not exactly flat edge of the socket rests completely or almost without sealing material, so that previously sealing and storage were imperfect.
Ass, the metal version described is by no means limited to glazing, but is used instead of the usual angle or T-irons in stoves, ovens, metal furniture, bicycle trailers and the like as an improved version.
