Device for controlling the load of a vehicle at any time.
The present invention relates to a simple eoneeption device making it possible to control at any time the importance of the load carried by a motor vehicle or the like.
This device is characterized in that the body of the vehicle is provided with an element provided with a scale and able to move under the effect of the loads placed on the vehicle along a marking part.
Various embodiments of the invention will be described below by way of example and with reference to the drawings.
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the rear of a motor vehicle fitted with the device.
Figs. 2 and 3 are detail views of this device.
Fig. 4 is a view relating to a variant of the device according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3.
Figs. 5 and 5d are respectively side and front views of a device in which the constituent elements are arranged on the side faces of the vehicle.
Figs. 6 and 7 relate to variants of the device according to FIGS. 5 and 5il.
In fig. 1 of the attached drawings, schematically shows at 1 the body of a motor vehicle, at 2 the bridge and at 3 the wheels located at the ends of the latter.
On deck 2, between the differential 4 and a wheel 3, a lug 5 has been fixed which goes vertically towards the bodywork 1 and which is intended to cooperate with a plate 6 fixed to the bodywork along its rear lower edge, by example using a wing 6 ′ formed by nn folding at right angles to the plate 6 (FIG. 2).
Downwards, the tab 5 folds up at a right angle and forms a unit with a collar 7 taking under the bridge 2 and the attachment to the latter takes place by means of a second collar S; the two collars 7 and S are made integral by any appropriate means, for example using screws or bolts 9 with the nut 10.
In these conditions, it will be understood that the lug 5 occupies a practically immutable relative position with respect to the ground, but that, on the other hand, when loading the vehicle, the body will occupy successive positions such as that shown at 11 in FIG. 1, while the legs 6 will also occupy successive positions, one of which is shown at 61.
The plate 6 could thus easily be graduated once and for all by indicating therein the relative positions of the upper edge 11 (forming an index) of the lug 5 opposite a location of the lug 6 corresponding to a given load of the vehicle.
It is understood that the scale is established for a given vehicle using a gauging carried out by successive loads, for example of 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 kg.
During this gauging, the load of the vehicle is therefore known and the lines of the scale are drawn according to these loads.
1But once the scale has been established, we thus have a simple and effective means of knowing at any time the load placed on the bodywork.
The device also makes it possible to control the distribution of this load, given that if, at a given moment, scale A indicates for example a load of 2500 kg, but, on the other hand, scale B indicates at the same time a load of 500 kg, it will be noted that the load is poorly distributed.
When the body 1 protrudes to an appreciable extent from the deck 2 and that consequently the latter is situated substantially set back from the lower and rear edge of the body, the arrangement shown in FIG. 4 in which the upper collar 12 taking on the bridge 2 is extended by a horizontal wing 121 then folding at right angles upwards to form the tab 5. It is possibly possible to provide around the bridge 2 wooden sleeves 30 interposed between the bridge and collars.
The indicator elements can also be arranged on the lateral sides of the vehicle (fig. 5, SA and 6).
In this case, the circular edge 13 of the rim of the wheel 14 fitted with the tire 15 will generally be used as a relatively fixed element and the scale 16 may be inscribed on a tab 17 integral with the body 1, but which can be folded around. an axis 18 carried by a plate 19 fixed to the body 1 by any suitable means.
When the tab 17 has been folded into 171, the wheel can easily be removed and, for example, a tire replaced.
To the plate 19 can be fixed, for example by welding, a pin 20 on the end of which takes the plate 17 which is provided for this purpose with an opening and which is held in the vertical position of use by means of a wing screw 21. A spring 22 is advantageously provided around the axis 20.
A variant of the arrangement of FIGS. 5 and 5A is that shown in FIG. 6, wherein the lug 23 (which is the functionally equivalent of the lug 17) can oscillate about a pin 24 protruding from the body so as to be brought at 231 into a position allowing '' repair the wheel.
This pin 24 can advantageously be surrounded by a washer 25 made of wood or of another braking material; in order to allow the tab 23 to be kept in position 231.
The embodiment according to FIG. 6 is used in particular when there is an upright 26 projecting from the body 1 (Fig. SA). You can also optionally use a separate fur constituting the equivalent of the amount 26.
As shown in fig. 6, the arrangement is also applicable in the case where the bodywork is provided with a wing 27 overhanging the wheel 30.
The rim of the wheel still constituting the fixed indicator element, the scale will be inscribed on a tab 28 having for example the particular shape shown in FIG. 6 and attached to the body at 29.
