Method and device for flocking objects. The present invention relates to the further development of the method for flaking objects according to patent claim I of the main patent. According to this method, the elongated flakes are exposed to the force of an electric field, the lines of force of which are almost perpendicular to the surface to be flooded, where the flakes also impinge on the surface to be deeply attracted in almost a vertical position and through there with one end an adhesive can be held in place.
According to the method of the present inven tion, the flocking is now carried out on the running belt, with the objects to be deeply loosened being expediently either used directly in tape form or arranged on a bandför-shaped carrier.
In many cases, it can be an advantage in continuous flocking that the flocking only occurs intermittently, which means that not all areas of the objects to be deeply attracted are flocked. This can be achieved in that, for example, the electric field is only applied intermittently over time, or that the object to be flocked is only partially provided with adhesive. Furthermore, it can be expedient to make the flocking intensity changeable so that the objects can be flocked with different densities, for example by changing the intensity of the electrical field or by varying the amount of flock. There are also z. B.
Cases conceivable in which the objects have to be floated on all sides, in the case of a hand-shaped object, in particular on both sides. This can be done in two different ways. Either the objects can be flooded first on one surface and then on the other, or the objects can be flooded on both surfaces at the same time, for example by arranging flake receiving devices on both sides of the object to be flocked, whereby the flakes in both receiving devices are exposed to the force of an electrical field in such a way that the flakes of one receiving device are applied to one surface,
the flakes of the other receiving device strike the other surface of the object to be flaked. In the case of flooding on all sides, the objects, which are likewise provided with adhesive on all sides, are appropriately moved between the electrodes, e.g. B. rotated or turned.
The present invention also relates to a device for performing this method. According to the invention, this device, which is designed for flooding objects in film and plate form, has guide rollers for guiding the object to be flooded, a device for providing the object to be flooded with adhesive Floe pickup device,
on which the flakes used for flocking lie, a flake litter device for evenly applying the flakes to the flake receiving device and a device for generating the electrical field, with the object to be deeply flocculated and the surface of the flake receiving device bearing between the two two electrodes, between which there is an almost homogeneous electrical field, are arranged in such a way that the surface of the object to be deeply attracted and provided with adhesive and the surface of the flake receiving device carrying the flakes face one another.
The drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the device for carrying out the method according to the invention, which is especially suitable for filling a strip-shaped object. With 20a to 20e guide rollers are designated for guiding the tape 21. Above the roller 20a an adhesive device 22 is angeord net, which consists of a spray nozzle 22a, with which the adhesive is sprayed onto the tape 21, and a stripper and distributor 22b, the the adhesive is evenly distributed over the tape 21.
The thickness of the adhesive order can be varied depending on the amount of adhesive coming out of the nozzle and on the distance between the stripper 22b and the belt 21. 23 is a flock pick-up device with a conveyor belt 24 on which the flocks 25 used for flooding come to lie. The conveyor belt 24 is designed as an endless belt, which is guided through the two rollers 34a, 34b and driven by a device not shown. Above the receiving device 23, the flake scattering device 26 is attached, which essentially has a container 26a. has a sieve-like bottom 26b and a movable rake 26e which can be moved by hand, for example.
For the sake of clarity, only those for the electrodes 27a, 27b, which are preferably connected to a DC voltage source, are schematically indicated by the device for generating the electric field. In order to obtain an electric field between the electrodes that is as homogeneous as possible, these are designed as plates lying parallel to one another, between which the two strips 21 and 24 run parallel to one another and parallel to the electrode plates. The width of the plates 27a, 27b corresponds approximately to the width of the strips 21 and 24.
The homogeneous electrical field is thus directed perpendicular to the two tapes, so that the flakes strike perpendicularly to the surface of the tape 21 provided with adhesive and remain there with one end. A drying device 28, a suction device 29 with suction nozzles, a supply roll 32 and a top roll 33 are provided as further devices. The drying can be carried out in a known manner with warm air, indirect radiation or infrared or high-frequency heating. A flake collecting container 30 serves to receive the excess flakes 31.
The operation of the described device is as follows. First, the flakes for flocking are brought into the container 26a. Then the facility is put into operation. The tape 21 to be deeply loosened runs over the guide roller 20a, where it is seen with adhesive, then over the roller 20b between the electrodes 27a, 27b, over the rollers 20c and 20d through the drying device 28, where the adhesive is dried , so that the flue stick firmly, continue over the roller 20e past the AbsangTorri.chtung 29,
which separates the non-sticky flakes and finally places them on the top roller 33. At the same time, both the flake scattering device 26 and the flake pick-up device 23 are put into operation. Furthermore, the voltage is applied to the electrodes 27a, 27b.
When the rake 26c is operated, the flakes fall through the holes of the sieve-like bottom 26b onto the conveyor belt 4, which runs beneath the belt 21 between the electrodes 27tt, 27b, the speeds of the Bands 21. and 2-1 must be selected so that the desired population density is achieved. At most, excess flakes 31 reach the flake collecting container 30 and can be used again later.
Particularly suitable flake materials are cotton, wool, natural and artificial silk, asbestos, nylon, felt and cellulose. Even with non-stop flocking, the most varied of effects can be achieved depending on the flake material used, in particular depending on the length of the flakes, as is already indicated in the main patent. The objects to be flocked are materials that can be produced in tape form, such as paper, cardboard, sheet metal, celluloid, leather.
Non-stop production can be achieved not only with a hand-shaped object, but also when the object to be flocked has any shape and is attached to a band-shaped carrier that takes on the role of the Ban of the 21 in the device described.
Measures can be taken to limit the flocking to the object to be flocked, for example by only providing the object to be flocked with adhesive, or that the electric field is only switched on when it is closed The object being blocked is between the electrodes.
