Meuble pliant.
Folding cabinet. The present invention relates to a folding piece of furniture comprising a rigid element and movable elements capable of being folded down and held on top of each other by articulations and automatic hooking devices.
This folding cabinet is characterized by means intended to maintain said movable elements in the developed position by automatic engagement of a member integral with the rigid element in a housing of the movable elements. The piece of furniture is further characterized by the fact that the maintenance in the folded position of the movable elements is ensured by means of an appropriate inclination of the contact faces of the joints with respect to a plane normal to their axis, so as to produce jamming sufficient to keep the joint concerned in the folded position.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention serving as a camp bed.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the developed bed.
Fig. 2 is. a view similar to FIG. 1 (read folded bed.
Fig. 3 is a view from below the bed. FIG. 4 is a partial profile view corresponding to FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 is a profile view, in vertical section and, on a larger scale, of a detail. Fig. 6 is a section taken along the line V-V of FIG. 5. Figs. 7 and 8 are profile views of two detail variants.
Fig. 9 shows an alternative embodiment of further details.
Fig. 10 is a plan view corresponding to fi-. 9.
The fi-. 11 is a partial sectional view of an alternative embodiment of further details. 6g.12 is a partial sectional view of another variant embodiment of these details.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the camp bed is constituted by a rigid frame formed of three elements 1, 2 and 3, supported by feet 4, and on which is fixed a canvas 5 by means which will be described later. The elements 1, 2 and 3 and the feet 4 can be formed by tubes of any suitable metal.
The end elements 2 and 3 of the frame or at least one of these elements can be raised by any desired amount with respect to the element 1, to allow the user to adopt the position which it suits him best. To this end, the assembly of the various aforementioned elements, as well as the feet 4, is provided by a double articulation in three parts 5, 6 and 7, pivoted at 8 and 9 and the free ends of which are engaged and fixed in the tubes. corresponding frame and feet (fig. 5).
The modification of the inclination of one of the end elements 2 or 3 of the frame with respect to the central element 1 can be obtained by axial displacement of a stop 10, housed in the arm 6 and supported by its head 11. on the inner end face of the arm 5, the imm mobilization of the stop 10 being able to be ensured by engaging a pin, not shown, in one of the holes 12 provided in variable number on the rod of the stop 10 (fig. 5).
In a variant of the adjustment device which has just been described, the stop 10 can be replaced by a screw 13 or by a finger 14 held in position by a pin 15, the screw 13 and the finger 14 being able to be eccentric with respect to the axis of the arms 5 and 6, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
The legs 4 are U-shaped, the horizontal branch 16, which acts as a spacer, is curved towards the inside of the U so that the bed rests on the ground at four points, in the manner usual (fig. 1).
The end elements of the frame are kept developed by the weight of the user's body and the feet 4 support the bed by resting the end face of the arm 7 on the lower lateral surface of the arm 5, their maintenance in position being ensured by in engagement of a nozzle 17 of a spring 18 in a cavity of the arm 7 (fig. 5).
When the bed is folded, the elements 2 to 4 are folded over the central element 1 and they are held in place, on the one hand, by means of an upper nozzle 19 of the spring 18 which acts as the lower nozzle 17 and , on the other hand, by the spring 20 which partially embraces the vertical tube of the feet 4 (fig. 5 and 6).
The locking devices of the various rigid elements of the bed can be provided either on two of the articulations 5, 6, 7 located on the same side, or on the four articulations. In the variant embodiment of the joints shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the feet 4 are held in the unfolded position by engaging a knurled screw 27 in a bore 28 of the lower element 7 of the joint. -The screw 27 is screwed into a tapping provided at the free end of a res out 29 which is, for example, supported by the axis 8.
The axis of the screw 27 is inclined with respect to the axis of its housing 28, so as to ensure a locking without play of the movable elements 4 with respect to the central element 1. The articulation 8 is constituted by a tenon 30, integral with the element 6, and by a yoke 31, integral with the element 5, the lateral faces of the tenon 30, as well as those of the yoke 31, being inclined as shown in fig. 10.
As shown in fig. 11, -an elastic blade 38, fixed by a rivet 39, enters a housing 40 when the two parts of the joint, movable relative to each other, are in the position desired. The locking in this position can be made effective by the penetration of the knurled screw 41 in a thread 42. The locking can also be ensured by the projection of a ball 32 in a threaded hole 37 (fig.12) . The ball 32 is held in a hollow screw 34 by a crimping 35, in which it is held by the fact of the penetration of the screw 34 in threads 36 and 37 belonging to the two movable parts of the joint.
A canvas 21 which supports the body of the user, as in camp beds of a known position, is provided at its two ends with a cover 22 engaged on the movable elements 2 and 3 (fig. 3. ). To ensure sufficient rigidity of the fabric 21, the latter is reinforced, in its middle part which supports the heaviest load, by straight or cross lacing 23 arranged, for example, as shown in FIG. 3. Fasteners 24 can also be provided star the underside of the canvas 21 to ensure the longitudinal tension of the latter.
Transverse fasteners 25 are provided to the right of one of the caps, so that the latter can form a pocket 26 of the tines to receive a bolster or a pillow (FIG. 4).
The canvas of the camp bed can be replaced by a metal mesh, a sheet, an articulated assembly of wooden or metal slats or others, which are also attached to the elements 1, 2 and 3 forming the frame of the wheat. The fixing takes place by means of a known lacing intended to bring the base thus formed to the appropriate tension, whatever the distension due to use.
