Sind also län gere Zeit z.
Pump system with several centrifugal pumps working in parallel. The invention relates to a pumping system with a plurality of centrifugal pumps working in parallel, which convey into a common pressure control line and of which at least one can be temporarily shut down.
In pumping systems of this type it was previously necessary to close or automatically close or close (Rüekschlapklal) pen or valves) in order to prevent the material conveyed by the working pumps from flowing back through temporarily stopped pumps. Such closing organs have the disadvantage that they become leaky over time, especially if the conveyed material contains suspended matter.
These adhere to the parts of the closing organs exposed to them, especially to the sealing and guide surfaces and to the internal movement mechanisms, causing leaks, uneconomical operation of the system and operational disruptions.
It is the purpose of the invention to avoid these parts after. The invention consists in the fact that the conveyed material is initially guided upwards in separate pressure pipes emanating from the individual pumps up to a highest point, which increases the dirt-side conveyed goods level. That this increase is at least equal to the total resistance height, which in the continuing \ feil of the pressure pipeline system occurs when one of the pumps is shut down,
class the separate pressure pipes are combined at the earliest at the highest point to form a common pressure line and that means are provided to ventilate the pressure line system at its highest point.
The elevation is to be measured between an upper level, which is tangent to the lower inner wall of each pressure pipe at its highest point, and a lower level, which is at. the conveyed goods level on the pressure side coincides. If the outflow mouth of the common pressure line is not located below, but above the pressure-side conveying fluid level, this must be taken into account in the resistance level. In the latter, it should also be taken into account that the conveyed material can have an increased air content and consequently a reduced specific weight after passing through the ventilation device.
In a pumping system built according to the invention, when none of the pumps is at a standstill, the resistance level may exceed the elevation. If, however, only one of the pumps is shut down, the level of resistance drops so far that the pressure pipe of the shut down pump is ventilated and that no material to be conveyed can flow into this pressure pipe.
The latter fills with air up to the level of the conveyed material level on the suction side, and a corresponding length of conveyed material flows back through the pump, where the pump flushes very effectively. This eliminates the need for closing organs of such a type that they would have to come into action when individual pumps or the entire system were shut down, and the disadvantages described are therefore completely eliminated.
As a further improvement, it is advisable to arrange the common pressure line in its first part in a descending manner and to make its cross-sectional area there at least 1.5 times as large as in its further course. The first part of the common pressure line then acts as an air separator and the harmful contribution made by the increased air content of the conveyed material after passing through the ventilation device to the resistance level is reduced.
In order to make this air separation particularly effective, it has proven to be expedient to arrange the opening of each separate pressure pipe into the common pressure line in such a way that the emerging conveyed material has a tangential component in the same direction for all pressure pipes, which is at least 0 .l times the size of the axial component.
Furthermore, it is advisable to take into account a certain increase in the air content from the outset by ensuring that the excess is at least 1.2 times the resistance level that would arise if one of the pips were to stand still if the material to be conveyed was free of air would.
Finally, it is advisable to design the ventilation device in such a way that it can also be used to control the state of contamination of the pressure line system.
For this purpose, at least one pipeline can be provided to ventilate the pressure line system, which visibly discharges into the atmosphere, the height of this opening being selected so that when all pumps are in full operation, conveyed material cannot escape from the opening as long as the system is clean is, however, that conveyed material emerges from it as soon as the contamination of the pressure control system has progressed of the kind
that the level of resistance that occurs when a pump is at a standstill threatens to exceed the excess. In this way, a device is created in the simplest and cheapest way, which not only puts the correct operation of the arrangement according to the invention under effective control, but which also benefits the efficiency of the entire pumping system.
The invention will be described in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
FIG. 1 shows the elevation, FIG. 2 the outline of this exemplary embodiment.
Three centrifugal pumps 1, 2 and 3 working in parallel are driven by electric motors 4 with vertical shafts 5. The Krei selpumps 1, 2 and 3 are arranged below the suction-side conveyed goods level 6 so that they are constantly filled and therefore always ready for use. The float 7 follows the fluctuations of the suction-side conveyed material level 6 and transmits them to the electrical switching device 9 with the aid of the long-distance line 8. This keeps all three pumps 1, 2 and 3 in operation when the level 6 is high.
If the mirror 6 sinks, it first switches off one of the electric motors 4, thereby stopping the pump it drives. If the mirror 6 continues to sink, it stops further pumps until it has finally stopped all pumps. Conversely, when the level 6 rises, it starts one pump after the other until all pumps work at the highest level 6.
In addition to this, the electrical switching device 9 may contain a time switch which interchanges the electrical lines leading to the electric motors 4 at certain time intervals in the circuit, so that if, for. B. a pump is stopped, z. B. the Piunpe 1 only stands still during one of the time intervals, but in the next here with the pump 2 changes, this in the next with the pump 3, this in the next with the pump 1 and so on.
This automatically not only ensures that all pumps are used evenly, but also that all pumps are subjected to the flushing process described below from time to time.
The conveyed material is initially guided upwards in separate pressure pipes 10 going from the individual pumps 1, 2 and 3 up to a highest point 11, which increases the pressure-side conveyed material level, not shown, and this superelevation is. chosen so that it is at least equal to the total resistance level, which then arises in the further running part 12, 13 of the pressure line. When only one of the pumps is stopped. At the highest point 11, the separate pressure pipes 10 are combined to form common pressure line by opening into the first part 12 of the same.
The water is arranged in a descending manner and its cross-sectional area is at least 1.5 times as large as the cross-section that the common pressure line has in its further course 13.
The ventilation line 14 is connected to the upper end of the first part 12 and opens into the atmosphere at the point 16 which is also visible from the inside of the building through the window 15.
If all three pumps are in operation, the conveyed material in the common pressure line will generally be above point 11, possibly in ventilation line 14, so that part 12 is completely or almost completely filled. The line 16 is, however, placed so high that no conveyed material can escape from it as long as the pressure line 13 is clean. If one of the pumps is stopped, the flow direction in its pressure pipe 10 is initially reversed, the conveyed material begins to flow backwards through the pump and flush the same.
Meanwhile, however, the resistance level in the lines 12 and 13 has decreased, the ventilation 14 has supplied air, the conveyed material level in part 12 has fallen below the point 11 and the return flow to the shutdown pump is interrupted since her. Its pressure pipe 10 then empties, effectively flushing the pump backwards, down to the level of the conveyed material level 6 on the suction side, and the pump remains in this state until it is next switched on.
In order to separate the air entrained by the conveyed material again, the common pressure line is arranged descending in its first part 12, and its cross-sectional area there is at least 1.5 times as large as in its further course 13. In addition, at the confluence of the pipes 10 in the part 12 pipe bend 17 can be provided, the discharge direction is chosen so that the exiting conveyed material has a tangential component in the same direction for all pressure pipes 10, which is at least 0.1 times as large as the axial component. Here, the conveyed material is given a twist about the axis of the part 12.
As a result, the air bubbles ben the axis of the part 12 and rise again unchecked. It is advisable to take into account the low air content that still remains despite these ventilation measures by selecting the elevation of point 11 above the pressure-side conveyed goods level so that it equals at least 1.2 times the resistance level, which is common seed pressure line 12, 13 would arise when one of the pumps stopped if the material to be conveyed were lift-free.
The height of the mouth 16 of the ventilation pipe 14 is chosen such that when all pumps are in full operation, the conveyed material cannot escape from the mouth 16 as long as the system is clean, but the conveyed material emerges from it as soon as the Druekleitun12, 13 are contaminated Art has progressed that the level of resistance, which arises in the line 12, 13 when one of the pumps was at a standstill, threatens to exceed the elevation of point 1.1 above the conveyed material level on the pressure side.
An outflow of conveyed material from the mouth 16 shows the operator that it is. It is now time to clean the pressure line, not only to prevent backflow of conveyed material from a shutdown pump, but also to restore the good efficiency of the entire system.
It is a particular advantage of a PLunp system built according to the invention that it automatically defends itself against contamination of the common pressure line and usually removes it again automatically. The risk of contamination is particularly great when the current speed is low. So are longer time z. B. only one or two of the pumps in operation, the pressure line 13 can dirty pro gressively. The level of resistance then increases to such an extent that backflow occurs through the third pump.
However, this increases the suction-side conveyed goods level 6, the float 7 activates all pumps until the level 6 has sunk again, and this process is repeated until the pressure line 13 is clean again.
In the suction lines of the pumps assembly slide 18 are arranged to be able to remove and revise pumps both during the operation of the other and in particular without having to empty the suction sump 19 ent.
The invention extends not only to open piping systems, but also to closed ones. Because, store z. B. on the suction and the pressure side Fördergutssp- gel gas pressures that are different from the pressure of the atmosphere, it is only necessary in order to achieve the same effect, also to expose the lIündLmg 16 of the ventilation 14 to a gas pressure that from which the atmosphere is different.
