An diesen Ka nal7 schliesst hintendas, Kühlluftrohr 2 an.
SehaR damper. The subject matter of the invention is a silencer for exhaust pipes of explosion engines.
According to the invention means are provided to divide the exhaust gases, to set them in vortex motion, to cool them down and to break the sound waves. Passages are provided for cooling air.
In the drawing, for example, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: FIG. 1 shows a view, FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section, FIG. 3 shows a cross section along the line 1-I in FIG. 2 on a larger scale,
4 shows a cross section along the line II-II in FIG. 2 on a larger scale and FIG. 5 shows a cross section along the line III-III in FIG. 2, also on a larger scale.
The silencer shown has a gas distributor and cooling air inlet piece to be connected to an exhaust pipe of an explosion engine (not shown in the drawing), which is provided with a cooling air pipe 2. The cooling air pipe 2) has transverse bores 3 at its rear end.
The distributor and inlet piece 1 is conical and has a hollow cylindrical connection piece 4, which is divided into three channels 5 , which run parallel to the Ke ", #, elma, The distributor and inlet piece 1 has cooling air inlet channels 6 located between the channels 5 , which are opposite the axis converge and open into a central channel 7 . The cooling air tube 2 connects to this channel 7 at the rear.
A corrugated pipe jacket 8 connects the inlet piece 1 to a sleeve 9 through which the pipe 2 passes axially. The corrugated pipe jacket is attached to a cylindrical shoulder on the circumference of parts 1 and 9, e.g. B. by welding or robbing. On the rear end of the sleeve 9 there is a narrowing mouth piece 10 with a cylindrical end part 11 e.g. B. welded.
A screw body 12 is mounted in the corrugated tube, which has an axial bore through which the cooling air tube 2 passes. The exhaust gas, e flow in the direction of the dash-dotted arrows into the connecting piece, 4 and become. by dividing the channels 5 into three partial flows, which enter separately from one another between the partition walls 12 ′ of the screw body 12.
At the conical constriction 13 of the sleeve 9 the partial flows reunite, whereby the flow velocity of the gases increases. The conical surfaces 15 and 16 on the sleeve 9 or on the mouthpiece 10 create a chamber 17 into which the gases flow with the formation of eddies. With the perforated part of the air pipe 2, the outlets mix with the cooling air from pipe 2.
The central cooling air pipe 2 and the d, 1-Ircl-1 corrugated pipe jacket, which is cooled by the outside air, have the task of cooling the exhaust gases. The flow of exhaust gas is deflected by the partition walls, 12 ', with an intense centrifugal force. The corrugated pipe jacket is flushed.
The corrugated pipe jacket has ring-shaped baffles, which contribute to sound absorption through multiple refraction of the sound waves. The sound attenuation is supported by dividing the gas flow into several partial flows and by guiding them in the shape of a screw line in the pipe jacket, and also by combining the partial flows when the gas flow is narrowed and finally by the flow through a vortex chamber with simultaneous air mixing.
