Chronograph with two push buttons. The object of the present invention is a chronograph with two buttons: one of the push buttons acting on a lever for starting and stopping the chronograph, the other; on a lever i for supporting a hammer. reset.
This chronograph is characterized by a star with n teeth carrying two cams with n / 2 bosses: each, the star, being actuated by the first lever and retained by a jumper, and the two cams, respectively cooperating with the rocker of, return and with the hammer d''lu: chronograph.
The appended des: slin represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the chromograph forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view: overall in plan and FIGS. 2 and 3 are detailed elevation and profile views.
In the embodiment shown, the chronograph includes a case and a movement; ordinary with minute wheel and chronograph wheel 1. The latter is driven at will by a deflection wheel 2 mounted on a rocker 3 pivoted at 4.
The free end i of this lever carries an eccentric screw 3ca which: cooperates su # essivèment a.vee each of the bo-sage of a solid cam 6a: of the star 5 with six teeth whose position is. determined by a saltire 7.
i The button for the chronograph 10 agil: on the end of a starting and stopping lever 8 pivoted at 9 and the free end of which has a finger intended to drag the star d 'one tooth each time button 10 is pushed. The lever 8 also carries a pin 11 bringing the hammer back to rest position from -rem: s, e to zero 12 rotated:
in 13. The latter itself carries a pin 14 engaging in a notch at the end of a spring 15 intended to maintain it. in its position before the function: of resetting, when the chronograph is not in the counting position.
The push button 17 acts on the hammer 12 via the pin 20 of the lever 18 pivoted at 19.
A return spring with two leaves: 21 acts, on the one hand, on the lever 18 and, on the other hand, on the lever: of: control 8 and tends to hand hold push buttons 10 and 17 in their position rest.
When the chronograph is in the counting position, 1: the reset hammer is locked by one of the bosses: of a cam 6 on which an arm 16 rests on this hammer,: this cam being integral of the cam 6a and the star.
The operation of this chronograph is as follows :.
At the start of the tQmps interval to be timed, the counting wheels are set in motion by pressing button 10 for the first time.
The latter acts by the lever 8 on the star, and the cam 6 then assumes the position shown in fig. 1. in which the base carrying the return wheel 2 is brought into counting position by its return spring 22.
Simultaneously, the pin 11 of the lever 8 moves away the reset hammer 12, the pin 14 of which engages in the notch .du - spring "of safety 15 and whose branch 16 is then locked by one of the 5 bosses: from the -came 6a.
At the end of the time interval, the. Counting wheels are stopped by a second pressure on button 10, which again acts, by lever 8, on the star. Cam 6 moves lever 3 away from idler wheel 2.
From that moment, the resetting hammer -is protected against inadvertent resetting by means of the pin 14 which: is retained by the spring 15 so as to require a certain pressure on the button 17 from the operator to cause the reset to zero via the vier 18.
As a variant, the angle between two successive teeth of the star could be reduced, as could the angle between the bosses of the two cams. The shape of the teeth. may also be the subject of variants within the scope of the invention.
The advantage of the chronograph described is the great simplicity of manufacturing and the safe operation of the main organ -constituted by -the star and ssescames. It is obvious that the two cams and the star can be milled in a single piece, of metal,
-or although the two cams could be tappo.rtées on the star or fixed on its axis.
