Additional patent to main patent no. 250906. Process for the production of a new stilbene dye. The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a new stilbene dye, which is characterized in that 1 mole of 4,4'-dinitrostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid, 1.5 moles of the 2-aminophenol by coupling of diazotized 4-sulfonic acid with 2,
5-dimethoxyaniline obtained monoazo compound and 0.5 mol of the triazole, which is obtained by oxidation of the monoazo compound prepared by coupling diazotized 4-nitro-4'-aminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid with 2-naphthylamine-6-sulfonic acid and by reducing the nitro compound obtained in this way to the corresponding amino compound,
be condensed together in the presence of caustic alkali and that the condensation product is treated with ore pure copper salt.
The new dye is a black-brown powder which dissolves in water to form a dark olive-colored solution and in concentrated sulfuric acid to form a purple-gray solution.
Example: 66.4 parts of the trisodium salt of aminotriazole, which is obtained by oxidation of the 4-nitro-4'-aminothilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid diazotized by coupling with 2-naphthylamine-6 - sulfonic acid and obtained by reducing the nitro compound thus obtained to the corresponding amino compound, 56,
25 parts of the sodium salt of the monoazo compound obtained by coupling diazated 2-aminophenol-4-sulfonic acid with 2,5-dimethoxyaniline, 47.4 parts of the disodium salt of 4,4'-dinitrostilbene-2, 2'-disulfonic acid, 900 parts of water and 145 parts of 10N sodium hydroxide solution are heated under reflux for 15 hours.
The mixture is cooled, made close to neutral with hydrochloric acid and the condensation product is precipitated by adding sodium chloride, filtered off and washed with a little 10% strength aqueous sodium chloride solution. It is suspended again in 1500 parts of water, the suspension is heated to 90 C and a solution of 37.5 parts of crystalline. Copper sulfate in 150 parts of water and 65 parts of 65% aqueous ammonia were added.
The mixture is heated to 90 to 95 ° C. for 12 to 15 hours with stirring and then cooled. 100 parts of common salt are added and the precipitate which has separated out is filtered off. The dye is washed with 1.0% sodium chloride solution and dried. It is a black-brown powder; which in water to form a matt olive solution and in conc. Sulfuric acid is soluble to form a purple-gray solution.
It dyes cotton in matt olive shades, which are characterized by good washfastness and very good lightfastness.
