Method and device for refilling liquids into the cavity of utility devices with liquid consumption. The present invention relates to a method and a device for refilling liquids into the cavity of utility devices with liquid consumption, such as fountain pens, lighters, eau-de-Cologne atomizers, etc.
The method according to the present invention consists in that the utility device is brought into connection with a storage container from which liquid reaches the cavity of the device due to the excess pressure prevailing above the liquid level above the external air pressure at least at the moment of refilling.
The device for exercising the method is characterized in that the storage container has means for generating overpressure compared to the external air pressure and is provided with a neck with an automatically closing closing element and a tube in order to use the tube with a correspondingly arranged valve attachment on the appliance to be able to work together.
A rubber balloon with a check valve or an air pump, possibly a diaphragm member, can be arranged to generate excess pressure in the storage container.
A valve plate made of elastic material with a capillary opening, on which the advantageously axially displaceable tube rests in a cushioned manner, can be provided as an automatically closing closing element in the neck of the storage container.
The valve attachment on the appliance has a valve plate made of rubber with a capillary opening.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an example embodiment of a device for performing the method according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows as a utility device a filling spring in longitudinal section and Fig. 2 also shows the storage container in section.
According to the embodiment shown, the upper end (in the position of use) of the filling pen 1 with a valve attachment 2 will see ver, instead of the usual, usually consisting of .einem rotatable button for actuating the suction piston existing closure.
In the bore of the valve attachment 2, a valve plate 4 is inserted, which prevents the automatic outflow of the liquid from .dem utility device and at the same time closes the hollow space 9 in the device airtight. The valve plate 4 is advantageously made of rubber and is provided with a capillary opening 5 located in its center.
This capillary opening 5 remains permanently closed as a result of the natural resilience of the rubber material and is only opened in the manner described below when the device is refilled with liquid. The reservoir 6 is provided with a neck 7 on with upwardly directed tube 8, which is axially displaceable bar and by means of the spring 8 'resiliently ge superimposed. The lower tip of the tube 8 lies in its lowest position on the valve plate 11 forming the closing element, e.g.
B. made of rubber, which is provided with a Ka pillar opening 10, which is closed due to the elasticity of the rubber when not in use.
Inwardly to the inwardly to the valve plate 11, a pipe 18 is provided which is connected to a hose 19. This hose extends to the bottom of the storage container.
The outer diameter of the tube 8 is dimensioned so that it fits into the opening 3 of the appliance and can be inserted into the capillary openings 5, 10 of the valve plates 4, 11 by spreading these openings, so that the tube 8 covers the interior of the device Tube 18 connects to the reservoir of the fountain pen.
Means are provided to produce an overpressure above the liquid level at least at the moment of refilling in the Vorratsbe. For this purpose, the reservoir is seen with a neck 6 'ver, to which a rubber balloon 16 is connected according to FIG. Furthermore, a non-return valve 15 and 17 is arranged on the neck 6 'and on the rubber balloon 16, so that an excess air pressure can be produced in the storage container 6 at any time.
Instead of the rubber balloon 16, an air pump or a membrane member can be arranged on the neck 6 '.
The overpressure in the reservoir can prevail permanently or only temporarily when refilling the cavity 9 of the use device. It is therefore irrelevant whether the overpressure is maintained continuously or for a longer period of time or whether it soon disappears again after refilling.
In use, the utility device 1 is set with the opening 3 on the tube 8 and pushed down so that the latter penetrates with its opposite ends through the capillary openings 5 and 10 of the valve plates 4 and 11 and the connection of the space 9 with that produces liquid. Due to the overpressure compared to the external air pressure, which is in space 12 above the liquid level. 18 prevails. or is generated, the liquid is pressed via the hose 19, via the expanded capillary openings 10 and 5 and via the connecting tube 8 into the space 9.
After the device has been filled, it is pulled out of the neck 7, whereupon the capillary openings close again automatically.
The entire neck 7 of the container 6 1 ″ can be easily unscrewed, which makes refilling easy. A rubber ring is inserted between the bearing surfaces, the neck 7 and the storage container as a seal, whereby, as already mentioned, an airtight seal for the purpose of maintaining the overpressure in the storage container is not necessary.
The storage container can advantageously be calibrated in order to be able to refill a corresponding dose of liquid precisely.
The device is extremely simple and versatile. Through the manner described, fountain pens, cigarette lighters, perfume bottles, etc. can be refilled to whoever.
By using the device described before on fountain pens, the useful content of the cavity is significantly increased, since the usual suction piston is completely omitted and only the plug-like valve attachment 2 is screwed. The cavity can be filled with ink from the valve attachment 2 to the feed mechanism in front of the nibs.
The laborious refilling of the fountain pen from the ink bottle by dipping the fountain pen into the bottle itself is also eliminated, the nib tip often being deformed and damaged, apart from the fact that such a refill is only possible as long as the bottle has enough ink contains. In the device described Vorrich the ink can be almost completely used up by means of the rubber loop reaching up to the floor.
