Drying device for the idler belt. When printing fabrics by means of gra fourth pressure rollers, an elastic band, the so-called printing blanket, is usually used as a base.
The purpose of this is to press the goods to be printed evenly against the printing roller and to press them into the colored engraving. Such printing blankets are expensive, and in order to keep their service life as long as possible, they are primarily protected by cleanliness. Repeated washing would severely impair the elasticity and strength of the printing blanket and make clean prints a problem.
To keep the blanket clean, a thinner, washable belt, the idler belt, is run between it and the goods. This is wider than the goods and absorbs the color that has penetrated the goods as well as that which is printed on both sides next to the goods by the printing roller, which protrudes slightly over the goods. The idler belt must be washed after running through it once or several times, otherwise the back of the goods will be soiled.
Replacing the idler belt results in machine downtime. The cleaning and wear and tear of these idler belts mean a great loss in every printing company.
One soon went over to making the followers bKnder out of fabric with a rubber cover, which can be easily cleaned during operation. The belt was closed endlessly and, after the pressure machine, ran through a washing machine with spray pipes and rotating brushes. These conveyor belts were dried by drying cylinders that were heated with steam.
With this type of drying, the temperatures of the cylinders are very difficult or not at all so low that the rubberized or otherwise impregnated follower belts are not destroyed. The lifespan of such is very short in this way. That is also the reason why this otherwise inexpensive method, which made continuous printing possible. could not enforce.
The present invention is now based thereon; that drying is no longer done by drying cylinders, but by hot air. In this way, impermissible heating of the idler belt can be avoided and a longer service life can be achieved, as long-term tests have shown.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei is playing a printing machine with the fiction, according to drying device for the endless idler belt is shown schematically. The endless printing blanket 2 first rests against the impression cylinder 1. Between this and the goods to be printed 3, the endless, e.g. B. rubberized idler belt 4.
As it passes through the pressure rollers 5, it absorbs the penetrating through the goods as well as the side of the printed color and is appropriately cleaned in the washing machine G by means of spray water and brush rollers. The conveyor belt is dried by warm air, which is blown through nozzles 7 and the washed surface of the belt guided in loops 8 is blown.
The drying air can be easily; @ailten at a temperature that does not damage the idler belt.
