Wir vermeiden also die dünne Wasserauf- ,schlämmung, in welcher die Fasern schwim- =men, und benutzen statt dessen den Ansatz aus Fasern und Faserschleim mit -wenig Wasser unmittWlbar zum Formen. Diese feuchte, formbare Mischung besitzt nur eine ;
EMI0003.0010
Raumgewicht <SEP> 823 <SEP> kg/m3
<tb> Biegefestigkeit <SEP> 144 <SEP> kg/cm'
<tb> Druckfestigkeit <SEP> 133 <SEP> kg/cm2 <SEP> (in <SEP> Platten richtung <SEP> geprüft).
EMI0003.0019
Raumgewicht <SEP> 850 <SEP> hg/m3
<tb> Biegefestigkeit <SEP> 116 <SEP> kg/cm'
<tb> Druckfestigkeit <SEP> 103 <SEP> kg/cm@ <SEP> (in <SEP> Platten richtung <SEP> geprüft).
Process for the production of a material from feltable organic fibers. The invention relates to a method for producing a material which has properties similar to wood and which can be further processed in any way. As starting materials, feltable organic fibers, preferably before Halzfas, ern, as z.
B. by defibrating, grinding, boiling or grinding .gewonnen or z. B. as a vibrator material, as so-called Sanerkraut, etc. incurred during fiber processing, used.
Instead of actual wood fibers, woody fibers of other types, such as reed fibers, straw fibers and woody fibers, can also be used. and waste from other plants, including annuals, are used.
A process has already been proposed (compare Swiss Patent No. 240464), according to which waste materials are made from sawdust, wood shavings and the like without any fraying by adding aqueous fiber slime as a binding agent and then shaping and drying, if necessary using of heat and pressure, plates and molded parts in the volume between 200 and 1400 kg / m 'are made.
It has now been found that the binding proposed in the process of the above-mentioned patent for opane-shaped starting materials by aqueous fiber slimes even with starting materials that consist of feltable organic fibers, such as. B. in wood fibers or similar fibers obtained by defibrating, grinding, boiling or grinding, can be used in an equally advantageous manner.
The preparation of fiberboard made of feltable fibers has hitherto been carried out in such a way that the fibers are mixed with a great deal of water so that they float in it, and then the thin fiber pulp thus obtained is sucked off on permeable substrates. However, this known method of operation requires very large amounts of water, since at least 100 parts of water are used for one part of dry fiber.
As a result of this strong dilution, very large amounts of water must be removed from the thin slurry of fibers in the formation of the fibreboard or the molded parts from the felting fibers, a method that requires a considerable amount of equipment and energy and expensive measures, such as wastewater treatment or recovery and: making the diversion of large amounts of water necessary.
The disadvantages are avoided in the invention in that the fibers are mixed with an aqueous fiber slime to form a spreadable, moist mass with a solids content of at least 20%, at most 60% The mass then shapes and dries.
So we avoid the thin water slurry in which the fibers swim, and instead use the approach of fibers and fiber slime with a little water for shaping. This moist, malleable mixture has only one;
relatively small amount of water that can only be partially squeezed out under pressure. The spreadable approach can easily be introduced between heated plates or iri-heated molds, with one side, the plate or mold being expediently water-permeable in a further embodiment of the method according to the invention, e.g.
B. has a screen pad or is provided on the surface with a perforated or porous substance.
The formation or drying of the batch is preferably carried out at pressures between 1 and 50 kg / cm 'and at temperatures from 100.degree. To 200.degree. C., temperature and pressure being able to be applied simultaneously or in any order one after the other. The pulp fiber used as a binder is conveniently produced by wet milling with preferably a squeezing effect, e.g.
B. between smooth stones in a Dutchman. As starting materials for the slime, all possible chen cellulosic products can be used, such. B. the wood itself, the most varied of cellulose, but also reeds and all other Gmund materials, which contain cellulose and cellulose-like substances in a more or less pure form.
- The one under the new procedure. The panels and molded parts produced, which, depending on the pressures used, have bulk weights between 300 and 1400 kg / m @, have good strength values, above all one. good splitting strength because. them over with plenty of water.
The known processes produced do not have a pronounced layer structure, since fibers in all three dimensions are practically in the material when the scatterable mass is filled.
Because of these favorable properties, the material obtained by the method according to the invention is advantageously suitable for the production of floors, walls, roof and ceiling coverings, and also for the production of doors, door frames, window frames and picture frames. Finally, furniture, refrigerators, packaging containers and other hollow bodies can also be made from the material. If necessary, varnishes or veneers can be applied.
Some of the multiple variations of the method according to the invention are illustrated by the following examples: Example <I> 1 </I> 2000 g wood fiber, calculated dry, produced by defibrating wood chips, are in a mixer.
with 100 g cellulose fiber slime, calculated dry, this slime being used in the form of a 3.5% strength aqueous slurry, mixed for 10 minutes and, with further addition of water, the batch is made to a solids content of 20%. The moist, spreadable mass is then placed between the heated layers of a press to produce a plate.
a sieve is arranged under the mass. The heating layers are heated to 170 C and are connected to a. Pressure of 4 kg / cm2 on the mass. A plate with the masses is created. 500'X 500 X 10 mm, which is removed from the press after 40 minutes of hot pressing. The resulting material has a density of 770 kg / m 'and a flexural strength, measured according to DIN 7701, of 88 <B> kg / cm'. </B>
The production of the aqueous pulp fiber slime takes place in the following way: In a 200-liter Dutch machine with a stone grinder, 15 kg of soda pulp are ground with plenty of water for 13 hours. The resulting slime, which has an almost gelatinous consistency, is adjusted to a solid content of approx. 3.5%.
Example <I> 2: </I> Otherwise exactly according to the procedure of Example 1, 2000 g of vibrator fibers with 200 g of pulp fiber slime, calculated dry, are worked up to a plate with a pressure of 10 kg / cm '. The values achieved are as follows:
EMI0003.0010
Volume weight <SEP> 823 <SEP> kg / m3
<tb> flexural strength <SEP> 144 <SEP> kg / cm '
<tb> Compressive strength <SEP> 133 <SEP> kg / cm2 <SEP> (tested in <SEP> plate direction <SEP>).
<I> Example 3: </I> Otherwise exactly according to the procedure of Example 1, 2000 g of so-called sour cabbage, a waste material from fiber processing, are added with 200 g of pulp fiber slime, calculated dry, with a pressing pressure of 20 kg / cm @ processed into a plate. The scored. Values are as follows:
EMI0003.0019
Volume weight <SEP> 850 <SEP> hg / m3
<tb> Flexural strength <SEP> 116 <SEP> kg / cm '
<tb> Compressive strength <SEP> 103 <SEP> kg / cm @ <SEP> (tested in <SEP> plate direction <SEP>).
Instead of the soda pulp used in the above examples, a wood fiber slime can also be used. This sore z. B. manufactured as follows: In a 200-liter Dutch machine with a stone grinder, 20 kg of beech wood veneer waste is ground with plenty of water for 18 hours. The resulting slime is adjusted to a solids content of approx. 6.5%.
The results obtained with this slimy substance are very similar to those described in the examples above.
