La boîte est fermée par un couvercle sous lequel est disposée une pièce 6 présentant un rebord 7 s'adaptant dans l'enveloppe et un bossage en creux 8 susceptible de s'adapter sur le haut du récipient à transporter. Le couvercle de l'enveloppe comporte une boîte à tétine. Dans ce but,. il est constitué par une boite 9, en forme de gobelet, munie d''un couvercle vissé 10;
Thermally insulated box for transporting a container. The object of the present invention is a thermally insulated box for transporting a container.
Thermally insulated boxes are known intended for transporting containers and in particular baby bottles. Such boxes are in g 6l constituted by an outer casing of substantially cylindrical shape, provided with a cover fixed by screwing or otherwise and lined on the inside with felt. The transported container is thus thermally insulated, which makes it possible to hold a hot or cold liquid.
However, the felt which inside these boxes is putrescible and easily deteriorates, which presents a serious drawback. The attempts made to avoid these drawbacks have led, most of the time, to complicated implementations or to incomplete results.
The object of the present invention is to provide a thermally insulated box, of particularly simple design, in which the above-mentioned drawbacks disappear and which also has various advantages.
This box comprises an envelope, possibly provided itself externally or internally, or both, with a thermal insulation, the whole constituting a housing for the container to be transported, and means holding the container inside this housing by providing an air duct between said container and the walls of the housing and of its closing cover. The appended drawing shows, by way of example, in vertical section, one embodiment of such a box for transporting a baby bottle.
As shown in the drawing, the box has a bare cylindrical casing 1, for example made of plastic, the bottom of which has an annular projection 2 in which the bottom of a cup 3 with two shoulders fits, forming the bottom of a thin sheath 4, for example of aluminum, of molded plastic material or of cardboard; this sheath is held at its other end by a ferrule 5 forming a shoulder of small cross-section resting on the side wall of the outer casing 1.
The box is closed by a cover under which is placed a part 6 having a rim 7 which fits into the casing and a recessed boss 8 capable of fitting on the top of the container to be transported. The cover of the envelope has a pacifier box. For this purpose,. it consists of a box 9, in the shape of a goblet, provided with a screwed cover 10;
a ring 11 is threaded onto this box, on which it is held by a shoulder 12, and carries a thread 13 capable of being aimed at the upper part 14 of the casing of the isothermal box.
The bottle 15 closed by its rubber cap is placed in the box: its bottom fits into the cup 3, while its upper part is held by the part 6, which is itself tightened by the neck at the time closing it. Thanks to the arrangement of the shoulders of the cup, the contact surface between the bi beron and the wall of the envelope or of the inner sheath is reduced to a minimum; the bibe ron is therefore entirely surrounded by an air sheath which provides thermal insulation. When opening, the button 16 provided on the part 6 facilitates its extraction.
To increase the thermal insulation by reducing the convection movements of the air along the insulating sheaths, it is possible to see the filling of the space between the inner sheath 4 and the casing 1 with a rot-proof insulating material.
The shape of the nipple box shown in the drawing allows it to be used as a cup, and its three-piece construction ensures easy cleaning.
Numerous construction variants are possible: it is possible, for example, to remove the inner sheath 4, or to replace the whole of the cup 3, of the sheath 4 and of its centering ring 5 by a single piece; finally, the cover could be a simple flat cover, and its closure be ensured by any other means, such as, for example, a bayonet type attachment.
Such a box can be used for the transport of any container which must be kept away from heat exchange, therefore equally well for the transport of ice or cold liqui as for hot drinks.
