Gasturbinenaggregat.
Es kann auch eintreffen, dass die Temperatur vor einer der Teilturbinen bei einer gewissen Teilbelastung im Dauerzustand auf einen niedrigeren Wert als bei Vollast eingestellt werden;
Treibmittelströme in Verbindung stehen.

EMI0004.0115
Gas turbine unit. The invention relates to gas turbine aggregates for continuous combustion in at least two .Stufen with high and low pressure turbines, of which a low pressure turbine drives a low pressure compressor, while another low pressure turbine delivers useful power, these in the low pressure turbines parallel to each other in the propellant lines of the unit switched on, but mechanically independent of one another.
Because the achievable output of the low-pressure turbine is almost identical to the output required by the low-pressure compressor when the unit is partially loaded, the unit can be run at almost constant temperature at every operating point as soon as steady-state is reached without using a throttle control , which would result in a severe deterioration in the degree of efficiency under partial loads. In this way the efficiency can be kept high over a large load range. However, this behavior gives rise to certain operational difficulties.
Every time the load increases, an excess of fuel must be injected so that the compressor speed and thus the amount of air flowing through the system should increase, so that excess temperature is obtained at times.
It should be noted that there is an increased performance. higher air flow. corresponds. Such temperature peaks have a disadvantage, since they stress the turbines and actually lower the mean temperature that can be maintained in front of them, which means that the mean efficiency of the unit is lower.
It is also not always possible to keep the temperature at the highest permissible value during continuous operation and at a certain partial load, since then you will not get a completely correct power distribution between the turbines of the unit.
It can also happen that the temperature in front of one of the turbine sections is set at a certain partial load in the steady state to a lower value than at full load;
However, in the event of a further lower load, a new temperature is required for the correct power distribution between the turbines, which is higher than the temperature required at the above-mentioned higher partial load point. The temperature curves partly depend on the speed at which the machines have to run due to external circumstances (e.g. propeller drive or generator drive).
If the required temperature runs in the specified manner according to a curve with a minimum value at a certain partial load, the control process in this area becomes uncertain if the load only depends on the temperature and is controlled by it.
These difficulties can be remedied in the gas turbine unit according to the invention by means which are arranged on the propellant supply line of the first-mentioned low pressure turbine and allow the power output of this turbine to be changed for the purpose of changing the useful power supplied by the unit.
The guest turbine unit can be operated with a thermostat-controlled temperature, which can be kept constant and at the highest suitable value during normal operation. If the unit only has one high-pressure turbine, this expediently drives the high-pressure compressor.
Such a system can be regulated in a very economical manner by the means mentioned, which preferably contain either a throttle valve in front of the turbine driving the low-pressure compressor or act by regulating the nozzle of this turbine.
When the valve throttled or. the nozzles are closed; one does get pressure losses before the low pressure turbine in question and thus a change in its efficiency. At the same time, however, the pressure in front of the I \ Tlederdrucktlrbine delivering useful power increases, and the amount of propellant that passes through this increases, while the amount of propellant through the other turbine is less. The throttling therefore takes place on a gas quantity that is lower, the lower the load is.
It can be seen that as soon as such a partial load has been reached that the capacity of the high-pressure compressor is sufficient to deliver the required amount of air, the throttling in front of the low-pressure turbine driving the low-pressure compressor no longer plays a role, since the amount of gas through the turbine is then zero is.
The invention is described in more detail using the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.
1 shows schematically a gas turbine unit designed according to the invention. 2 shows a detail of the gas turbine unit in section on a larger scale, namely a regulator and a throttle valve that interacts with it in the gas supply line of the low-pressure turbine driving the low-pressure compressor.
Fig. 3 shows a slightly modified imple mentation of this controller.
In the drawings, 10 denotes a low-pressure compressor which is driven by a low-pressure turbine 12 and has a fresh air inlet 14 and an outlet 16 for the compressed air. After passing through a cooler 18, this air is conducted via a line 20 to a high-pressure compressor 22 driven by a high-pressure turbine 24. The air further compressed in this United States is passed through a line 26, a heat exchanger 28 and a line 30 to a high pressure combustion chamber 32.
This be seated a number of fuel nozzles, which fuel is supplied through lines 34 from a valve housing 36, the valves of which are operated by a thermostatically controlled servomotor. The combustion gases flow from the combustion chamber 3.2 through a line 38 to the high pressure turbine 24 and thus form its propellant. After the expansion in the high pressure turbine, the gases go through a line 40 to a low pressure combustion chamber 44,
whose fuel nozzles are fed with fuel through supply lines from a valve housing 36 in the same way as in the high-pressure combustion chamber 32. From the low-pressure combustion chamber 44, two lines go off in parallel, a line 46 to the above-mentioned low-pressure turbine 12 and a line 48 to a low-pressure turbine 50. The latter provides useful power, in the present case, via a gear 52 to a pro peller shaft 54.
The gases expanded in the two low-pressure turbines flow through a common exhaust duct 56 and then out into the open, sweeping around the heat exchanger 28 installed in this exhaust duct and thus releasing some of their heat content to the air flowing in it.
The above compressors and turbines can be of any type known per se and therefore do not need to be described in detail here to whoever. With the help of a thermostat 58 behind the low-pressure combustion chamber 44 as well as a thermostat 60 in the line 38, the aforementioned servomotor is influenced, so that the temperatures of the propellant are regulated to a certain value before it enters the various turbines,
which is held as high as the turbine design allows. The various turbines, in particular the low-pressure turbines 12 and 50, are mechanically independent of one another.
In the line 46, a throttle valve 62 is mounted, which is connected via lever 64 to a piston 66 which is housed in a chamber 68 of a housing 70 un. The housing 70 further has a bore 72 in which a slide 74 runs. One end of the slide 74 rests against a membrane 78 which is connected to the pressure side of the low-pressure compressor 10 through a line 76.
At its opposite end, the slide 74 is under the pressure of a spring 80, the tension of which can be adjusted from the outside by means of a wheel 82. When the air pressure on the pressure side of the compressor rises above a certain desired value, the membrane 78 guides the slide 74 against the action of the spring 80 to the right in FIG.
As a result, pressurized oil flows from a line 84 around a recess 86 in the slide and further through a channel 88 into the space to the right of the piston 66, which is thereby guided to the left, so that the throttle valve 62 controls the flow of propellant through the line 46 throttles.
From the space lying to the left of the piston, the ver displaced pressure oil flows at the same time by a channel 90 is brought through the recess 92 of the slide 74 in connection with a drain line 94 for the pressure oil. After the pressure in the pressure line of the low-pressure compressor 10 has decreased to the predetermined value, the slide 74 moves to its central position according to FIG. 2 back and the movement of the piston 66 stops.
If, on the other hand, the air pressure in the pressure line of the compressor 10 falls, the pressure of the spring 80 outweighs the counterpressure of the membrane 78 and the slide 74 then moves to the left from the middle position shown in FIG. Pressurized oil is then passed through channel 90 to chamber 68 to the left of the piston so that piston 66 will guide valve 62 into the open position.
When the regulator is working in this way, pressurized oil goes through the channel 88 and around the recess 96 of the slide 74 after a drain line 98.
The entire regulation of the gas turbine unit takes place solely by adjusting the flap 62. This is expediently kept completely open when the unit is started, in which a starter motor 100 starts the high-pressure turbine 24. As long as the flap 62 is in this position, the unit works its way up to higher performance and reaches full output after a certain time.
If, on the other hand, the flap 62 is brought into a somewhat throttled position with the aid of the handwheel 82, the low-pressure compressor 10 sets itself to a lower speed than corresponds to full power, with the power supplied by the unit falling at the same time, since the power at constant tem perature in front of the turbines is directly dependent on the air volume.
A certain amount of air and a certain power also corresponds to a certain pressure between the low-pressure and the high-pressure compressor 10 respectively. 22 .. To set the unit gat to a certain desired performance, the flap 62 is therefore set so
that there is a certain certain pressure in the line between the two. Compressor stops. This is done by means of the control device described above, which automatically keeps the corresponding pressure constant for a specific operating position.
If the gas turbine unit is to be set to a different operating point, the tension of the spring 80 is changed by means of the handwheel 82. The slide 74 is then displaced and the piston 66 is actuated in the manner described above, with the result that the flap 62 assumes its new position corresponding to this operating point.
The starter motor 100 can be switched to either the high pressure turbine 24 or the propeller shaft 54 by means of a transmission 102. In this way, the starter motor can be used to drive the vehicle at low speed.
At the same time then. the gas turbine unit switched off by means of an overrunning clutch 104 from the propeller shaft. 116 denotes a quick-acting valve for interrupting the propellant supply downstream of the power turbine 50.
- \ Between. A connecting line 106 with a shut-off element 108 is arranged in the high-pressure combustion chamber 32 and the supply line for the low-pressure turbine 50 which delivers useful power.
By opening this organ and closing a shut-off element 110 in the line 40 between the high-pressure turbine 24 and the low-pressure combustion chamber 44 and by opening a shut-off element 111 in a line 113 that conveniently connects the outlet of the high-pressure turbine to the exhaust duct 56, the unit can can also be driven with the low-pressure compressor 10 completely switched off,
provided that the flap 62 is closed ge. The high-pressure turbine 24 and the low-pressure turbine 50 then work in parallel to one another instead of in series with one another as is otherwise. You can still achieve a significant performance in this way, even if the low pressure compressor 10 must be provided abge. In this operating case, the air is introduced by
that a check valve 112 opens a line 114 going out from the suction side of the compressor 10.
The embodiment of the regulator according to FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIG. 2 only in that the slide 74 is influenced by the pressure behind the high-pressure compressor 22 as well as by the pressure behind the low-pressure compressor 10.
The pressure lines of both compressors are respectively via lines 76. 118 each with a membrane 78 respectively. 79, which are connected to slide 74 via a balance beam 120 and a hinged bracket 122.
If now, during the re gel process, the low-pressure compressor is due to run at a lower speed than the desired speed, while the high-pressure compressor has a higher speed than the operating point for which the flap 62 is set, while the average speed of the two compressors is approximately corresponds to the desired, the excessively high pressure behind the high-pressure compressor will counteract this via the membrane 79,
that the membrane 78 opens the flap 62 unnecessarily and thus delays the achievement of the equilibrium state in the control process.
The low-pressure turbines 12 and 50 can also, in contrast to the illustrated embodiment, each have a low-pressure combustion chamber 44 with fuel feed nozzles for individually regulating the temperature of the turbines fed to the relevant turbines. Propellant flows are in communication.
If the temperature is controlled individually, the gas quantities fed to the turbines are also regulated, since the quantity Q in kg / s = k.
EMI0004.0111
where <I> p </I> is the pressure, <I> T '</I> is the absolute temperature and R is the gas constant. The power of the turbine is proportional
EMI0004.0115
Such an embodiment is obtained if it is assumed that in FIG. 1 there is another chamber 44 behind the one drawn there. The lines 46 and 48 are then each fed from their chamber 44, which in turn are both connected to the line 40 of the high pressure turbine 24 in connec- tion.
In this case too, the distribution of the propellant quantities through the two low-pressure turbines should be effected by throttling by means of the valve 62 and therefore not by changing the temperature. Namely, the temperature of the propellant does not follow sufficiently quickly with a reduction in the amount of fuel supplied, since the propellant can absorb significant amounts of heat from the hot walls of the combustion chamber and the heat exchanger.
