where X and Y mean two residues which split off during the reaction, with the exception of an NH group contained in one of them, can act.
You can, for example, 1-phenyl-cyclopentane-l-carbonic acid or a reactive derivative thereof, z. B. a halide, anhydride or an ester, in the presence or absence of condensing agents and Ver distribution agents with ss-dimethylamino-ethyl amine or a metal compound of 1 phenyl-cyclopentane-l-carboxamide with a reactive ester of ss-dimethyl implement amino-ethanol.
The new compound obtained, 1-phenyl-cyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid, B-dimethylamino-ethylamide, is a base with a boiling point of 128 to 135 under 0.2 mm pressure; its hydrochloride melts at 152 to 153. The compound is intended to find therapeutic use.
Example .T 20.8 parts of 1-phenyl-cyelopentane-l-carboxylic acid chloride, dissolved in 200 parts of absolute benzene, are converted into a solution of 8.8 parts of f-dimethylamino-ethylamine in 100% Parts of absolute benzene were added dropwise. The mixture is heated to boiling under reflux for 2 hours. After cooling, the mixture is stirred with water, separated and the base is completely removed from the benzene solution by shaking out with dilute hydrochloric acid.
The combined aqueous solutions are extracted with ether, the base is released with potash and taken up in ether. The 1-phenyl-cyclopene-1-carboxylic acid-ß-dimethylamino-ethylamide obtained boils at 128 to 135 under 0.2 mm pressure.
Somewhat better yields are obtained when using an excess of diamine, that is from 1.2 to 2 mol to 1 mol of acid chloride.
Instead of the acid chloride, other halides of 1-phenyl-cyelopentane-1-carboxylic acid, the acid itself, its ester or its anhydride can also be used.
Example 2: 18.9 parts of 1-phenyl-cyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid amide are mixed with 100 parts of absolute toluene and 5 parts of finely pulverized sodium amide and heated with stirring until the Ammonia formation is ended. After cooling, 10.7 parts of β-dimethylamino-ethyl chloride in 150 parts of absolute toluene are added, the mixture is stirred for some time at room temperature and then heated to 90 to 100 for 2 hours.
The cooled reaction product is mixed with 100 parts of water, separated in a separating funnel and the toluene solution washed a few times with water. Then the basic components are extracted with dilute acid, the combined acidic solutions are made alkaline and etherified. After drying with sodium sulphate and evaporating the ether solutions, an oil with a boiling point of 128 to 135 under 0.2 mm pressure.
