Cylinders, especially for fuel machines. The invention relates to a cylinder, in particular for internal combustion engines, with the inlet and respectively. Outlet slots surround the, respectively, from the cylinder jacket. Cylindrical insert with separate ring-shaped housings, and consists in that the housings are supported radially flexible in a centrally symmetrical manner with the help of two or more bearing points,
to enable radial expansion of the housing without shifting the housing centers from the cylinder axis.
The invention has the advantage that the position of the cylinder jacket BEZW. The cylinder insert is not impaired by expansion of the housing and its connecting lines, as can occur at high wall temperatures and as a result of gas pressures. Another advantage arises from the fact that BEZW between the housing and the cylinder jacket. Zy lindereinsatz a simple and reliable metallic seal can be provided.
If the housing is stored differently, it would have to be between the housing and the cylinder jacket. Cylinder insert a seal must be provided that allows greater displacement between these parts.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is shown schematically.
FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through an internal combustion cylinder and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the internal combustion cylinder at the level of the housing surrounding the outlet slots.
According to Fig. 1, the jacket 1 of the internal combustion cylinder z. B. provided a further not shown flying piston propellant gas machine with the insert 2, which has outlet slots 3 and air inlet slots 4, and attached to the support frame 5 by means of the flanges 6. The slots 3 and 4 are surrounded by housings 7 and 8 which are arranged separately from the cylinder jacket 1 and the insert 2.
The housings 7 and 8 are gela Gert such that a radial expansion of the housing 7 and 8 without shifting the housing centers 9 and 10 from the cylinder axis 11 is made possible by two pins 12 respectively. 13 in the middle plane 14 respectively. 15 of the housing 7 and 8 are arranged centrisymmetrically on. The pins 12 penetrate the cooling jacket 16 of the housing 7, the z. B. is sealed against the pin 12 by a welded connection.
Now the pins 12 and 13 in Plat th 17 respectively. 18 in the axial direction of the. Spigots can be displaced transversely to the cylinder axis 11, the plates 17 being connected to the frame 5 by rails 19, in contrast to the plates 18 which are in direct contact with the frame 5. are. They are flexible in the axial direction of the pins 12 and thus in a direction running transversely to the cylinder axis 11.
On the insert 2, the flanges 20 and 21 of the housings 7 and 8 are secured by seals 22, 23 and 24, e.g. B. rubber rings, sealed in grooves of the insert 2 so that the A set 2 can move freely in the housings 7 and 8 in the direction of the axis 11. Between the seals 22 and 23, compressed air is fed into the groove 25 through the opening 26, in order to prevent the escape of exhaust gases into the environment.
If the housing 7 and 8 expand radially during the heating in loading, the pins 12 and 13 move in the plates 17 and 18. On the other hand, because the housing 7 and 8 are flexibly mounted on the frame 5 in the radial direction on all sides , is a shift of the housing centers 9 and 10 with respect to the cylinder axis 11 respectively. an effect of this expansion on the insert 2 is avoided.
From FIG. 2 it can be seen that the direction in which the pins 12 move when the housing 7 expands radially runs transversely to the outflow direction 27 of the outlet gases through the exhaust port 28.
Namely, if the exhaust pipe 28 is connected to the exhaust pipe by means of an expansion sleeve, the housing 7 is loaded by a gas pressure corresponding to the outlet cross section 29 of the nozzle 28, the resultant of which is directed in the opposite direction to the arrow 27 and thus also transversely to the displacement - Direction of the pin 12 runs.
This also prevents the housing center 9 from being displaced from the cylinder axis 11 by gas pressures.
In internal combustion engines, the housings 7 and 8 generally surround the cylinder insert 2. However, they can also be arranged around the cylinder jacket 1, e.g. B. if a special insert 2 is missing and the cylinder jacket forms one piece with the insert.
Instead of only two bearing points, the housings 7 and 8 can also have three or more bearing points designed as journals or other bearings, centrally symmetrically arranged in a plane, the directions of the displacement in these bearings intersecting at a common point, which lies on the cylinder axis. As a result, the housings are flexibly mounted in the radial direction with respect to thermal expansion, but are always centered on the cylinder axis.
This storage is particularly advantageous for internal combustion engines with a higher pressure in the exhaust line, such as. B. Flying piston propellant gas generator. At the high exhaust gas temperatures of such machines, expansion pieces are required in the exhaust line; but the storage is rigid with respect to the back pressure of the propellant gas line by the elongated axis of the pipe socket connected to the propellant gas line passes through the aforementioned intersection of the bearings.
The invention is not limited to cylinders for internal combustion engines, but also includes cylinders for other Maschi NEN where thermal expansion is to be expected and a displacement of the cylinder jacket BEZW. Cylinder insert from whose axis should be avoided.
In Brennkra.ftzylindern the grooves 25 respectively. the holes 26 z. B. be ruled out to the housing or to a line through which the purge air is fed to the cylinder Zy.
