Description
Electrically heated press pad for vulcanizing rubber soles onto shoe uppers.
When rubber soles are glued to the upper part of the shoe, the sole is pressed on by a membrane which is inflated by compressed air, clings to the entire surface of the sole and exerts the required pressure. In order to shorten the time during which the sole has to be kept under pressure, the membrane surface exerting the pressure is heated. The heat accelerates the drying of the adhesive and thus shortens the time it takes to press the membrane. The required temperature for the usual adhesives is 60 to 80 C. The membrane is usually made of rubber with a built-in electrical heating element.
The fastening of rubber soles to shoe uppers by vulcanization takes place in the same way as gluing. There is only a difference in the temperatures used.
Gluing can take place at any temperature up to 80 C, regardless of the time required. The vulcanization of rubber soles can only take place at temperatures above 120 C and at these temperatures the membrane becomes unusable in a short time.
The invention enables rubber soles to be vulcanized onto shoe uppers without damaging the membrane and relates to an electrically heated PreBpolster for vulcanizing rubber soles onto shoe uppers, in which a heating element made of metal fabric is arranged on the outer surface of the press pad membrane for the purpose of the heating element touches the rubber sole directly during vulcanization. The radiator is made of metal mesh, which allows it to nestle completely against the surface of the sole.
Due to the direct contact between the heating element and the sole, the heat required to vulcanize the sole is transferred to the sole with almost no loss.
By pressing the heating element into the rubber sole, which has become soft as a result of the heating at the beginning of vulcanization, the soles with symbols, e.g. B. decorations with inscriptions, numbers or letters are provided.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Room 1 for the pressure medium (e.g.
Compressed air) is limited by a flat vessel 2 and a membrane 3 that closes the vessel. The heating element 4 with the stops 6 for the shoe upper with the sole 5 is attached to this membrane.
