Method and device for determining at least one exact boundary of a bare body. As is well known, the exact setting of the end points of the measuring section on the bodies to be measured because of the excess radiation, diffraction phenomena and the like that do not allow a sharp measuring edge to arise, makes some difficulties in optical measuring devices.
The main purpose of the present invention is to remedy these difficulties. It relates to a method for determining at least one precise delimitation of a bare body and to a device for carrying out this method.
The method is characterized in that the body is introduced into a beam of rays that actually depicts at least one mark in such a way that a piece of surface forming the delimitation of the body to be determined is cut from the image plane, and in an observation device set on this image plane the image of the mark generated in the direct beam path in the same and the image of the same mark that is generated by the rays reflected on the surface piece, be observed.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it has a mark plate illuminated by a light source and actually mapped by a projection lens, facing an observation lens with an eyepiece, and in that a holding device for the body is arranged between the two objects.
If not only one limitation is to be determined, but rather the distance between two limitations is to be determined in order to measure the body, the body is preferably placed on a table that can be adjusted and rotated by measurable amounts. A microscope can be used for observation, the objective of which has the same aperture and focal length as the projection objective. In the accompanying drawing, for example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown schematically.
An aerial image of a mark 4 illuminated by a light source 1 by means of gondenser 2, in the form of a line on the reticle 3 perpendicular to the plane of the drawing, is taken through an objective 5 in a plane 6 in which a measuring point 7a of the body 7 to be measured is located designed. These imaging rays are picked up by an objective 8 and produce a further image of the mark 4, which is viewed through an eyepiece 1.1, on a reticle 9 which is displaceable by means of an adjusting screw 10 and carries an auxiliary mark 13.
The test specimen is adjusted to the optical device by means of a holding device 12 located between the objectives, the optical axis of which is denoted by 1.1.
In order to be able to measure with the device, the image of the mark 4 is first brought to cover the auxiliary mark 13 by adjusting the reticle 9 by means of the adjusting screw 10. Then the surface piece of the test piece 7 in which the measuring point 7a is located is moved to the optical axis 14. Here can. one can observe that suddenly another image of the line mark 4 becomes visible, which has the same shape as the profile of the test object 7 in the imaging plane 6. The round test specimen 7 is now first displaced parallel to the optical axis 14 until the measuring point 7a is exactly cut by the plane 6.
The mirrored mark wan changes on the reticle 9, the correct position corresponding to a reversal point of the wandering movement. If the boundary surface is flat, it must be directed parallel to the optical axis. In the parallel position, the mirrored mark no longer moves parallel to the optical axis when the test object is moved.
The test piece is then moved in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis until the mirrored mark coincides with the auxiliary mark 13, the direct mark image gradually disappearing. If the measuring point 7a lies in a surface which is curved in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis, the vertex thereof is aligned with the center by bringing the mirrored mark with its vertex to coincide with the auxiliary mark 13. Immediately before this setting moment, however, the original image of mark 4 has disappeared. Here with the correct measuring position is reached.
The associated measured value is now read on the llesseinriehtuiig of the holding device 12. The same setting process is then repeated with the other end point of the specified measuring section, the test specimen being placed in position 7 'shown in dashed lines, then the value associated with the beer being read off and the desired measurement determined.
The above-described observation of the becoming visible of another mark image and the disappearance of the other comes about as follows: As long as the test object 7 does not crop the imaging beam, it also reaches the objective 8 completely and generates an image of the mark 4 on the reticle 9 in full strength. But as soon as the test specimen 7 pushes into the beam, it will gradually mask the rays that run between it and the optical axis 14.
At the same time, however, some of the rays are also reflected at the measuring point 7a, which rays also generate a further image of the mark 4 on the reticle 9 lying to the side of the optical axis. If the optical axis 14 Tan gent on the test object at the point of the measuring point 7a, only reflected rays reach the objective 8, which create the image of the mark 4 that coincides with the auxiliary mark 13.
With the device, gauge blocks, snap gauges, plug gauges, optical Glaskör and the like can be measured more whose surface plan, convex or concave - can be seen in the measuring plane 6 - to the optical axis. It is also possible to capture areas which - seen in the plane of the drawing - are concave with respect to the optical axis, as long as a not too strong curvature of the test object and a sufficiently high aperture of the lenses allow the rays to get to and from the measuring point.
It is not necessary that the surfaces are polished to a high quality, rather surfaces that appear almost matt still reflect enough, even if the images of the brand then suffer from sharpness due to the roughness.
The measuring process can also be carried out in certain cases with sufficient accuracy without a line mark in the ocular image plane. In this case, the directly designed image of the mark is used to adjust the reflected image.
In addition to the important application area above, the method described can be used in general to determine the boundary line of a bare body. In this case it is only necessary to form the marks to be mapped as line grids and to set them so that the lines run obliquely to the boundary surface of the body. The exact profile is then determined at all the points where the grid lines are not normal to the curve, through the intersection of the mirrored grid line with the corresponding original line. In this case, it will be particularly advantageous to design the device as a projection device so that the image can be captured on a drawing sheet.
