Process for the production of molded fibrous bodies with felted fiber structure and decorative surface effects. In the production of fibreboard and wood-like molded fibrous articles, a felting structure is created by swelling and dewatering of the feltable fibers. It is known to add an extender in the form of wood flour, cork dust, chalk, kaolin and the like to these feltable fibers.
On the other hand, it is also known to mix coarse and fine fibers in the production of such fiber boards in order to facilitate drainage, or to mix coarse-fiber, bulky fibers and fiber bundles with the feltable fibers in order to obtain a certain amount after drainage To increase the volume and thus achieve good sound-insulating properties of the finished panel, or to store fine matting fibers in poorly matting, coarse fibrous structures in order to obtain more compact masses.
According to the process according to the invention, molded fibrous bodies with a felted fiber structure and decorative surface effects are produced from aqueous suspension in such a way that large-sized and large-area fabrics are embedded in a water-containing fibrous pulp in relation to the wood sanding,
that the embedded materials are at least partially visible on the surface after the bodies have hardened and dried and stand out from the base material through their color and drawing. As such lumpy and large-area fabrics, z. B. pieces of wood, cork pieces, plastic splinters, wood shavings, milling chips, pieces of bark or textile strips are embedded.
It is also possible at the same time to embed substances of different types, which are large and lumpy in relation to wood pulp.
For the rest of the implementation of the process according to the invention, all previously known fiber molded article manufacturing processes from the cardboard, insulating board and synthetic wood industries can be used, and it will be explained in more detail below how the process according to the invention can be carried out, for example . The flow ble pulp preparations with or without binders can, for.
B. during the manufacture of the pulp preparation position with the lumpy and large-area substances in relation to wood pulp and the pulp molded bodies are poured or pressed with these admixtures. However, it is also possible to put the lumpy and large-area materials in the molds or on the drainage screens and only then pour in or press in the pulp preparation.
In the latter way, it is possible to create inlays and mosaic-like surface effects during the manufacturing process of molded fiber bodies. In the process according to the invention, the substances to be embedded can not only be colored, if desired, but also at least superficially, e.g. B. to be impregnated against the influences of moisture and water, so that the inlays and embedding under the influence of moisture in the interior of the fabric body do not generate any tension and warp or burst.
At the same time, the impregnation can act as a binding agent between fiber and embedding material. Synthetic resin emulsions in water are particularly suitable for this because they have good binding properties with wet fibers. Compared to the previous methods for generating decorative effects on fibrous bodies, such as
Veneering, graining with photographic printing methods, etc., the method according to the invention offers the advantage that the surface drawings can be generated during the manufacturing process of the fibrous bodies and in many cases no post-processing processes are necessary. Depending on the additives, particularly effective surface drawings can be created by slightly sanding the panels. Surface effects are obtained that have not previously been achieved with any other method.
Another advantage of the process is the possibility of sanding or planing such panels without losing the decorative effect, as the stored materials constantly reappear on the surface. The creation of these surface drawings is therefore comparable to continuous coloring in the fabric, where the color always comes into its own despite being sanded off.
Example: 10 parts of wood pulp are suspended in l 1) 110 parts of water and impregnated with? 00 parts of synthetic resin emulsion (phenoplast) and mixed with 1 part of coarse wood shavings. The whole pulp is preformed in a molding machine, the molded cake is dried and hardened in a heating press or drying chamber, with the embedded planing chips being at least partially visible on the surface and standing out from the base material.
The pulp can be dyed in two as a whole, creating increased contrasts.
