Gasentladungslampe.
Gas discharge lamp. The invention relates to a gas discharge lamp with a cooling jacket which is transparent to the emission radiation inside. housed discharge tube, this tube is mounted inside the cooling jacket so that the wall distances between the discharge tube and cooling jacket are different. In this way, it is possible to extract various radiation intensities from the lamp, provided the cooling medium has an absorbent effect on the emission radiation, since different thick layers of coolant are switched on between the discharge path and the outer surface of the lamp.
A straight discharge tube will preferably be chosen and it will be placed eccentrically in a cylindrical cooling jacket. A simple rotation of the lamp around the axis of this cooling jacket will then bring the desired effect, i.e. H. Switch on an absorption layer of different sizes for the rays between the discharge tube and the lighting object. The drawing shows, for example, an embodiment of the gas discharge lamp according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section through its longitudinal axis, while Fig. 2 is a side view of the lamp in the same position.
Only one end of the lamp is shown and described; the other is exactly the same.
In one for ultraviolet, rays through cylinder 1, which is fully fitted and cemented in a cuff 2, a straight, ultraviolet light generating discharge tube 3 is eccentrically placed under. Lamp axis and tube axis are parallel. The power supply wire 4 is in the interior of a hood 5 from the tube withdrawn, the electrode is labeled @ 6.
The edges of the hood 5 are based on a cylindrical rubber seal 7, which is drilled in its center for the passage of the wire 4 and in a recess of a set 8, which is the closed end of the for the supply of the cooling medium, which consists of a gas or a liquid can be available, provided tube 9 forms.
The cuff 2 is provided with a thread 10 and screwed into the socket 11 made of insulating material, for the purpose of pressing the cuff and cylinder tube 1 firmly against the base 1'2 of the socket, where a seal 13 is located. Socket 11 and seal 13 are both drilled out to allow passage of the aforementioned at rate B.
In another thread 14 of the socket 11, a pierced plug 15 is screwed, which serves to press a pack 1.6 against a shoulder of the socket 11 and the extension 8 to the tube 9; secure in place. This tube 9 carries at one end a connection sleeve 17 to which the power supply wire is connected.
The tube 9 is set up against the end 18 opposite the cylinder 1 for receiving a hose, not shown. The connection is covered by a cover 1.9, which also serves as hand protection. The inside of the tube 1 is. connected to the cooling space 21 by spirally wound channels 22, the mouths of which form a ring around the extension 8. As a result, turbulence in the medium management and better utilization of the same is achieved.
The inside of the quartz cylinder 1 located approach 8 of the tube 9 has an internal thread which merges into a conical recess Ver, the axis of which coincides with that of the hole seen for the passage of the wire 4 before. A slotted screw 20 with a conical end is screwed into the internal thread. This screw is pierced and serves to receive the wire 4, which, when the screw is turned against the conical recess, is clamped by the pliers formed by the screw tip and is thus intimately connected to the tube 9.
The other end of the lamp is exactly the same. The axis of the discharge tube 3 does not overlap le s 1 h with that of the quartz cylinder 1 . The tube is therefore mounted eccentrically in the interior of this cylinder, so that the distance between the tube wall and the cooling jacket wall, i.e. the thickness of the coolant, is different everywhere. By using one or the other side of the lamp you can change its radiation effect within wide limits.
The lamp could also have a shape other than straight with the same properties as those described.
If a liquid is used as the cooling medium, it can contain absorbents for certain parts of the spectrum.
