Description
Spring-loaded clamping screw for electrical power connections. For the connection of electrical conductors made of a metal, in which the conductor shows flexibility under pressure, various types of screw terminals and clamping screws have been developed. Some simple solutions consisted of accommodating a cylindrical coil spring in a cavity in the helical shaft.
The spring rests on a compression piece protruding from the screw base and is pressed together when the clamping screw is tightened, so that sufficient contact is always ensured even if the conductor cross-section is outwardly or converged. If the screw is not in use, the screw and spring should be captive in the screw.
For this purpose, a conical spring was used, the wider end of which is clamped in the screw shaft, while the narrower end of the spring has a structurally simple clamping hood which, however, is more expensive to manufacture than a screw with a cylindrical screw spring due to the conical spring. According to the invention, in order to be able to retain the manufacturing advantage of the cylindrically shaped helical spring, its fastening in the screw shaft is effected by
that the cavity towards the screw head is narrower than in the rest of the part and the spring holds fast there. The pressure piece is guided in the cavity and is firmly attached to the loose spring end with a conical pin.
The accompanying drawing shows, in section and greatly enlarged, an embodiment of a screw according to the invention. 1 is the screw head and 2, the screw shaft with a cavity 3, is the one against the screw head Approach 4 has a smaller diameter than the rest of the cavity. In the latter, a piston-like pressure piece 5 is guided with a mandrel 6 over which a cylindrical helical spring 7 is tightened. The other end of the spring is firmly clamped in the narrower part of the cavity 3 .
