ungefähr drei biss viermal so gross.
Method of making an asbestos-cement pipe. The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of asbestos cement pipes, which are preferably used to conduct water or other liquids under high pressure, and a pipe produced by the method.
According to the method of the invention, a plastic mixture of cement and asbestos fibers is pressed through a nozzle with a fixed core and the fibers are aligned beforehand so that all fibers lie in the longitudinal direction of the tube, the material being compressed before pressing.
The device according to the invention for carrying out the method has a stationary shaping nozzle with a concentric core located therein, a conveyor snow for supplying the plastic mixture of cement and asbestos fibers, as well as rotatable guide vanes which are located between the screw end and the nozzle align the fibers and distribute the material evenly.
When carrying out the method you use z. B. a plastic mixture of hydraulic cement, such as port land cement, asbestos fibers and water, where fillers or other additional substances can be used.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention, which at the same time serves to illustrate an implementation example of the method according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of a molding machine, Fig. 2 is a side view of the same and Fig. 3 is a cross section through the filling funnel along lines 3-3 of FIGS. 2 and 4, FIG. 4 being a longitudinal section along lines 4 -4 of FIG.
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal section through a tube showing the direction of the fibers. The tube is made of a plastic. fibrous cement mix consisting mainly of Portland cement containing about 10-20 percent by weight of dry substance of opened tufts or flakes of relatively short asbestos fibers, with or without the addition of suitable inert materials and fillers. Sufficient water is added to the mixture so that it forms a moist (as opposed to wet) mass with plastic properties.
The material is brought into a funnel 10 of the machine, in front of which it is fed to the screw conveyor 11 in the housing 12, which is preferably provided with a removable casing 13. The filling funnel has a feed device, which can best be seen in FIG. 3 and is used to stuff the material into the screw flights 21. The feed device consists of a pivotable jaw 14 which is attached to one side of the filling funnel and is attached to an oscillating shaft 15. The shaft is pivoted by an eccentric disk 16 by means of an arm 17 and the crank 18.
The rear end 20 of the screw is secured to the rotating shaft 23 by a key 22. The shaft 23 rests at two or more distant points in suitable drawer supports 24, only one of which is shown, and is driven by an electric motor via a coupling 26 and via a gear (not shown) which is housed in a housing 25 attracted. Any other suitable means can of course serve as the drive.
The front end 19 of the worm rests on a bearing pin 27 which is supported by an arm assembly 28 against the inner wall. The support consists of a number of arms 29, usually four, which are arranged at an angle in order to better absorb the thrust generated when the material is pressed out. The arms 29 are to be shaped so that the thinnest possible gap is created in the material flow. The cross-section of the arms does not have to be at an angle to the axis, as shown, but can also extend in the direction of the screw axis. The machine is provided with guide vanes 30, three or four of which are mounted on a sleeve 31 which in turn is arranged at the front end 19 of the screw and rotates with the same.
The wing surfaces are net angeord with respect to the axis of rotation that they lie at an angle that corresponds to the pitch of the screw. The wings 30 can also be designed so that the slope with respect to the axis of rotation is adjustable. The blades 30 are arranged with respect to the Schneoke so that they lie in the screw channel and thus in the Ma material flow that comes from the same. The wings can be arranged either in front of or behind the fixed support arms 29. The arrangement in front of the support arms 29, which is shown in the drawing, is more expedient.
The purpose of the guide vanes 30 is to distribute the material flow evenly and to align the asbestos fibers in the longitudinal direction of the tube; they pass this current on in the longitudinal direction. The end result is that the helical stream of material conveyed through the auger is compressed into a uniform mass that forms the wall of the tube. This no longer shows the helical flow of material. The asbestos fibers in the tube wall are intimately mixed with the other constituents of the mass.
As if from Fig. 4 can be seen, has the antechamber 3? a convex wall that forms an inlet that tapers from the screw to the nozzle opening and thus compresses the material on the way to the Formd.üsenöf ± nun @g. The entrance to the antechamber is considerably larger than the exit and in general
about three to four times as big. Through the interaction of the screw conveyor and the constriction in the chamber, the mass of the material is collected and compacted in the chamber so that no cavities are created. When the mass passes between the arms 29 of the support, it is divided, but the resulting parts are united ver and enter into a bond with each other when the mass is sealed ver in the antechamber.
The molding nozzle 33 is attached to the front end of the housing 12 by screw bolts 34 or similar means. A stationary concentric core 35 is located inside the molding nozzle. The core is firmly attached to a rod 36 with the support 28 so that it cannot wobble.
A nut 37 on the threaded end of the rod allows the core to be changed. After removal of the forming nozzle, the support 28 can be pulled out of the front end of the housing to allow removal or replacement of the screw. Mold nozzles and cores of different sizes can be used in the machine to produce tubes of different diameters without different wall thicknesses.
As the compacted asbestos cement paste is pressed through the space between the stationary nozzle and the core, a uniform, straight tube of a certain diameter and predetermined wall thickness is created, which has smooth inner and outer surfaces and no kinks, dents or bulges having.
The pressed tube 38 shown in FIG. 5 consists of cement which is uniformly interspersed with longitudinally extending fibers 39, the fibers therefore being essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube and being firmly embedded in the cement and connected to it.
After the tube has been pressed out, it is strong enough to retain its shape so that it can be cut into specified lengths and handled without deformation. The cut tubes harden and this process can be accelerated by using a drying oven.
