In -derselben zeigt:
Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch einen Wassermesser und
Fig. 2 einzelne Teile desselben in grösserem Massstabe;
Fig. 3 zeigt eine Draufsicht auf ein Detail.
Flow meters, in particular water meters.
The subject of the present invention is a flow meter, in particular a water meter, with a permanent magnet fastened in the pressure chamber on the wing axis and an armature arranged in the measurement chamber separated from the pressure chamber by a partition made of non-magnetizable material, which can follow the movements of the permanent magnet synchronously.
In the case of water meters, the need to separate the pressure and measuring space becomes apparent; the magnetic coupling between the wing rotating in the water on the one hand and a magnetic armature located in the measuring room shows significant advantages. According to the invention, the measuring space is now hermetically sealed.
He has a vacuum, e.g. B. of 1 mm Hg. The permanent magnet is given the shape of a body of revolution; it is placed in a casing made of non-magnetizable material.
An example embodiment is shown schematically in the accompanying drawing. In -the same shows:
Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a water knife and
Fig. 2 individual parts of the same on a larger scale;
Fig. 3 shows a plan view of a detail.
In a housing 1 there is a measuring vane 2 resting on tip bearings. The axis of the measuring vane carries a permanent magnet 6, which is designed as a body of rotation, in the present case as a cylinder, which has been magnetized in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The magnet has a sleeve 5 made of non-magnetizable material, e.g. B. made of nickel silver, which consists of one piece with the bearing pin 4. A measuring chamber 11 is provided separately from the pressure chamber 3 arranged in the housing 1.
It has no connection whatsoever to the pressure chamber 1 and is hermetically sealed at the top by a glass pane 14. The measuring room is evacuated. The box 7 forms one piece with the partition wall between the pressure and measurement space. It takes on the permanent magnet 6. On its lower side it wears a ring 19 made of permanent magnetic material. The purpose of this ring is to hold back magnetizable foreign bodies from the permanent magnet 6. In the measuring space 11 is the armature 10, which protrudes in a U-shape over the sides of the can 7 and is synchronously carried along by the permanent magnet 6 if the former moves.
The armature axle carries a pinion which transmits the rotation to a known measuring mechanism. The description of this known AI measuring unit can be dispensed with here.
The material used for the permanent magnet itself is expediently one of the new building materials which achieve their optimal magnetic conditions at short lengths in the direction of the magnetic flux and at relatively large cross-sections. These properties allow the construction of a magnetic coupling which, compared to known types, is much smaller for a given torque and which, in particular for the coupling parts contained in the fluid space, enable the most favorable types of construction with regard to vortex formation. The design of the permanent magnet itself as a body of rotation prevents additional braking due to vortex formation.
Since the substances, which, as described, are preferably used to manufacture the permanent magnet 6, are in no way corrosion-proof, the arrangement of a casing made of non-magnetizable material is provided. As a result, it can be achieved that the adhesion of magnetic foreign bodies that are in the water space is reduced. Since the novel magnetic material can only be reworked by grinding, this grinding can be saved with the described arrangement, as only the sleeve containing the magnet has to be dimensionally accurate. In particular, there is also no need to regrind a bearing journal on the magnet itself.
The ring 19 made of magnetic steel protects the permanent magnet 6 from foreign bodies. The ring is magnetized in the direction of the axis of rotation. As a result, magnetic poles are formed on the two end faces, the lower one of which protrudes into the liquid and attracts the magnetizable foreign bodies floating in the water. In order to avoid. that the upper edge of the ring also attracts magnetic foreign bodies, it is embedded in the housing wall 7.
