Harnstoff, Diphenylharnetoff, Methylharn- stoff, Thioharnstoff, Dicyanidiamid, Guanidin, Glyoxalmono- urein

Process for finishing textile fabrics It is known that the substances commonly used in the crease-proof finishing of cellulose fabrics, e.g. Methylol compounds of aminoplast-forming substances that reduce the tensile strength of fabrics made from native cellulose and the abrasion resistance of fabrics made from regenerated cellulose.
To avoid this, you already have polymers or mixed polymers, z.8. Polyaerylic acid ester, used in the anti-crease finish. However, fabrics treated in this way are not resistant to trichlorethylene. You also have to accept that the textile character is partially lost due to excessive stiffening.
Furthermore, plastic dispersions are known which are obtained by polymerization of mixtures of N-methylolamides of acrylic or methacrylic acid and other polymerizable compounds. These plastic dispersions have already been proposed for the production of impregnations for textile fabrics.
In French Patent No. 1,181,170, a process for the production of non-woven fiber material is described ben, wherein a non-bonded non-woven fabric is impregnated with a Bindemit tel, which is a) a water-soluble reaction product of an aminoplast-forming substance with formaldehyde and b) a water-insoluble one Contains polymer from ethylenically un saturated monomers, one of the monomers being an acrylic or methacrylic acid hydroxyalkyl ester with two to six carbon atoms in the hydroxyalkyl radical.
Belgian patent specification no. 550 356 relates to a process for finishing fiber material, in which the material is treated with a liquor which contains the following three components: a) A dispersion of a synthetic polymer. All flexible and elastic polymers should be usable. b) An aqueous dispersion of a condensate which is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents and consists of an aminoplast-forming substance and formaldehyde.
c) The substance and formaldehyde form a water-soluble condensate from an aminoplast.
Neither of these two publications discloses the possibility of using a polymer in which N-methylolacrylamide or methaerylamide is also polymerized.
However, as comparative tests show, it is precisely this measure that gives unpredictably better results than a method combined from the content of the two patents, namely higher crease angles, considerably improved wash resistance of the finish and better abrasion resistance without having to accept major losses in tensile strength.
The invention now relates to a process for finishing textile fabrics which contain at least 25% by weight cellulose fibers by impregnation with an aqueous liquor which a) one in the molecule at least two nitrogen atoms and at least two methylol groups bonded to nitrogen and / or etherified Me - reaction product containing ethylene groups of an aminoplast-forming substance with formaldehyde and b) contains a copolymer,
Freeing the impregnated fabric from excess impregnation liquid, drying and heating to over 100 to about 200C for polycondensation of the aminoplasts, characterized in that one of 1 to 25 wt .-% of a compound of the formula is used as copolymer b)
EMI0004.0007
where R1 is hydrogen or the methyl group, and 99 to 75% by weight of an ester of an acid of the formula
EMI0004.0011
where R2 is hydrogen or the methyl group is used.
The copolymer b) used is particularly advantageously one composed of 3 to 15% by weight of an N-methylolamide of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and 99 to 75% by weight, and particularly advantageously 97 to 85% by weight, of an ester, formed from acrylic or methacrylic acid and a monovalent,
saturated aliphatic alcohol with 1 to 5 carbon atoms. When carrying out the process, the impregnated fabrics are freed from excess impregnation liquid until they still contain 60 to 100% by weight of impregnation liquid, based on the weight of the untreated fabric (squeezing effect = 60-100%), then preferably at 90 to 160 C ge and then to over 100 to about 200 C,
preferably to 120 to 180 C, heated. Of the aminoplast-forming substances, the N-methylol compounds of which are used, the main ones are compounds of the formula
