Zeitschalter.
Time switch. The invention relates to a time switch, in which an electrical circuit is closed by relative movement between two means depending on a perforated organ, and is characterized in that the relative movement is composed of two different movements, namely a circular movement and a movement transverse to the circular movement.
The invention is intended to make it possible, for example, to regulate switch-ons of a time-arbitrarily variable nature for long periods, for example one or more weeks, with a single perforated disk. The device is primarily intended to be used as an automatic switch for To serve radio receivers, for which the programs are usually published a week in advance.
The goal is to apply the invention in such a way, for example, that imperforate covers are kept available, so that the owner of a timer designed according to the invention can punch holes out of the cover at those times at the beginning of each week automatic activation of the radio receiver is desired.
To clarify the invention, reference is made to the accompanying drawing, which schematically shows an expedient exemplary embodiment.
1 with a pointer axis driven by the drive of the clock is referred to, which makes a full revolution in twenty-four hours. The axle 1 is surrounded by a sprocket 2, which is attached to a suitable base so that @ it does not participate in the rotation of the axle 1.
An arm 3, the free end of which is slit open, as shown at 4, is attached to the axis 1. A cube 5 is arranged displaceably in the slot, and this cube carries a contact pin 6.
In the arm 3 bearings are arranged for an axle 7 on which a gear 8 engaging in the fixed pinion 2 is attached.
On the axis 7 a cam disk 9 is also attached with 'spiral outline. The X-contact pin 6 is pressed against the edge of this cam disk by a helical spring 10 arranged between the cube 5 and a fixed point on the arm 3.
The contact pin 6 moves over a solid metal plate 11 which is covered by a disk in the form of a sheet of paper 12 provided with a grid of lines and suitable text, only part of which is shown.
The line network on the cover pane 1.? consists partly of a .Spirallinie 13 provided near the periphery, which comprises eight full turns, between which seven narrow spiral fields 14 corresponding to the tabs of the week are formed, partly of twenty-four evenly spaced radial lines 15 correspond to the hours of the day.
Finally, five ten-minute lines 16 are arranged between adjoining stairways.
A contact spring 17 grinds give the rotatable axis 1 and is thereby in elec trical connection with the contact pin 6. From the contact spring 17 the circuit goes through a power source 18 to an electromagnetic relay 19 and from here to the letallplatte 11.
When the pointer axis 1 of the timer with arm 3 rotates to the right so that the gear wheel rotates around the fat pinion \? Moved like a planet, the toothed wheel 8 and therefore the cam 9 will rotate to the right about the axis 7. The translation is such that the axis 1 executes seven revolutions in the same time as the axis 7 executes one revolution.
Because the contact pin 6 is pressed against the edge of the cam disk 9 by the spring, it will move in a spiral-shaped path outward on the metal plate 11 covered by the disk 12 by being in the spiral-shaped intermediate space 14 between the different turns of the spiral line 13 runs.
In the cover plate 1? holes 20 are made in rectangles by means of hole pliers, punch or another suitable tool, which correspond to the desired switch-on times. The holes are indicated in black in the drawing.
In the example, perforations are shown at the following points in time: 1llonfa.b 5 p.m. 10 minutes, 1itt- -o-ch and Donnerstab 17 Ulir 20 minutes and Friday 7/7 a.m. 10 minutes. At this point in time, the contact pin comes into conductive contact finitely with the metal plate 11 and closes the circuit through the relay 19,
so that the relay is actuated and in turn closes the circuit to the radio receiver (not shown).
The relay is expediently of the type which, after it has been actuated by an electrical pulse from the power source 18, remains in the current-closing position until it is manually returned to the current-interrupting position.
The metal plate 11 should be arranged in such a way that it is easily accessible, for example by being removable from the timer or by being attached to a hinged flap.
It is also expediently provided with projections or other centering and orientation means for the paper disk 12, which in turn has corresponding recesses for these projections etc. so that it is always in the correct position on the metal plate 11 is attached.
If the timer for automatic: Einseha, ltunb is used by radio receivers, the intention is that 12 holes should be punched in a special paper disk for each week, corresponding to the times for the desired reception throughout the week, whereupon the Paper washer on the b1etalllpla.tte 11 is attached.
Several variants of the invention are of course possible. The cover disk 12 can thus be replaced by an endless belt that runs over a pair of rollers, the contact pin being displaced transversely to the direction of movement of the belt.
Instead of the relay described above, a double-polarized relay can be used, the holes in the cover plate being arranged in such a way that a first current pulse moves the relay into the current-closing position and a second pulse moves the relay into the current-interrupting position.
For. Self-acting local reception, such as for banks, business and brokerage offices as well as restaurants and der- '11, o # eichen, whose recipients mainly work with the local wavelength in order to receive price and stock exchange quotes as well as news at predetermined times an automated local receiver should be constructed,
That is to say, a radio receiver with high-frequency circuits that are permanently tuned to the wavelength of the local broadcasting station. In such a case, the loudspeaker can usefully be located outside the automatic receiver.
According to a modification, the contact pin 6 can be replaced by a light beam and the contact surface 11 by a light-sensitive cell, for example a selenium cell, the change in resistance of which is used with variable lighting for actuating the relay.
