Chronograph timepiece. The object of the present invention is a chronograph timepiece comprising an hour counter actuated by the barrel. This part is characterized by a pinion mounted idle and sliding on a long length, of the axis of the barrel and whose den ture is in continuous engagement with the wheel of the hour counter by its periphery and is, on the other hand, capable of being engaged and disengaged axially by a control member with toothing carried by the cover of the barrel.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the timepiece forming the subject of the invention. Only the components necessary for understanding the invention are represented therein.
Fig. 1 is a plan view, from the side of the dial and FIG. 2 is a section taken along line II-II of FIG. 1.
Referring to the drawing, 1 designates the bay rillet housed in a recess of the plate 2; 3 is the ratchet of the barrel, mounted on the square of the axis 4 which has an extension 5 exceeding the plate and pivoted in an upper bridge 6. The hour counter which is actuated by the barrel comprises a toothed wheel 7 and a reset core 8.
On the extension 5 of the axis, of the barrel and in a circular opening of the plate is mounted idle and sliding a coupling pinion 9 comprising a toothing 10 which, by its periphery, is in continuous engagement with the toothed wheel 7 of the hour counter and which, on the other hand, is capable of being engaged and disengaged axially with a fine toothing 11 provided on the surface of the cover 12 of the barrel.
The hub of the sliding pinion 9 has a peripheral groove or groove 1 & in which is engaged the forked end 14 of a leaf spring 15 fixed by a screw 16 to the bridge 6. The blade 15 tends to hold in. taken in the running position of the counter shown in FIG. 2, the pinion 9 with the teeth 11 of the barrel.
The blade 15 has, on the other hand, near its forked end, an upwardly curved tongue 17 intended to cooperate with a pin 18 'planted in the end of a connecting rod 19 controlled, by means of levers 20 and 21, by the column wheel 22. When, when the chronograph mechanism stops, the. .wheel with column actuates the connecting rod 19, the pin 18 tends .to approach the pinion 9 and engages under the inclined tongue 17, lifting the forked end of the blade 15 and with this the pinion 9 which is put out of engagement of the teeth 11 of the barrel, which causes the stop of the hour counter.
The connecting rod 19 is guided in its pivoting by a city plug 23 cooperating with a guiding surface 24 of the bridge 6. A brake 25, pivoted at 25a and controlled by the connecting rod 19, comes to rest, when stopping of the chronograph mechanism, against the toothed wheel 7 of the hour counter. At the same time, by the position of the pin 23, a hammer 26 controlled by a pusher not shown, is released for resetting.
When the chronograph is started, the column wheel actuates the connecting rod 19 in reverse direction which, at the same time, moves the brake 25 away from the wheel 7, blocks the hammer 26 even the pin 23 and releases the tongue 17 of the blade 15; this brings the pinion 9 back into engagement with the teeth 11 of the barrel.
