Antriebsvorrichtung an Fahrrädern.
Drive device on bicycles. The present invention relates to a drive device on bicycles. According to the invention, the seat post is guided axially displaceably in the frame tube leading from the saddle to the bottom bracket and is in drive connection with the bottom bracket shaft via a shift rod and a drive device that acts in one direction of rotation,
that when moving the seat tube downwards due to the weight of the rider on the saddle the bottom bracket shaft an additional torque is given in the direction of travel.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely Fig. 1 shows the drive device partially in a plane of the bicycle are the longitudinal section and Fig. 2 is a section through the device along the line II-II in Fig. 1.
In the example shown, 1 designates the bottom bracket shell and 2 the saddle of a bicycle. 3 and 4 are respectively from the saddle. from the bottom bracket shell to the rear wheel leading frame tubes, and 5 and 6 are respectively the saddle. the bottom bracket housing with the handlebar guide connecting frame menrohre of the bike. With 7 the saddle support is referred to, which is axially displaceably mounted in the frame tube 8 leading to the bottom bracket housing.
The conventional bottom bracket shaft 9 is mounted in the bottom bracket housing 1; in the same housing a countershaft 10 is mounted in front. On the countershaft 10, three gears 11, 14 and 15 are mounted, as well as a ratchet wheel 13 and a shift lever 16, on which a pawl 18 is articulated at 17.
While the two gears 14 and 15 are wedged with the countershaft, the ratchet wheel 13, the shift lever 16 and the gear 11 are loose, that is, rotatably mounted on the countershaft with respect to the latter; the gear wheel 11 and the ratchet wheel 13 are firmly screwed to each other; The gears 14 and 15 are also combined into a solid whole.
The gears 11 and 14 mesh with two gears 19 and 20, which consist of a single piece and are rotatably mounted on the pedal bearing shaft 9; The gear wheel 15 is in permanent engagement with a gear wheel 21 which is firmly seated on the bottom bracket shaft 9. blit 2 2 is a arranged in the interior of the frame tube 8 switching rod referred to, the telstütze at one end with the Sat 7 firmly connected and at the other end is axially guided in a bearing 23 of the bottom bracket housing.
The shift lever 16 has a radial to the axis of the countershaft 10 ver running slot 24, in which a pin 25 anchored in the shift rod 22 leads ge.
The operation of the drive device described above be as follows: As soon as the saddle 2 is loaded, the seat post 7 and thus also the switching rod 22 moves downward in the direction of the arrow A shown in Fig. 1. Here, the shift lever 16 is in the direction of Arrow B pivoted. This pivoting movement is communicated to the ratchet wheel 13 by means of the switching pawl 18 and this is set in rotation together with the gear wheel 11.
This rotary movement is communicated via the gear pair 19 and 20 to the gear pair 14 and 15, which transmits the rotary movement to the gear 21 of the pedal bearing shaft 9, the latter being given an additional torque in the direction of the arrow C, which torque is the bicycle driving forward helps. On the bottom bracket shaft 9, the pedal levers and pedals of the bicycle are keyed in the usual way (not shown in the drawing).
A spring (not shown) moves the seat post 7 together with the shift rod 22 upwards in the direction of arrow D, that is, returned to the starting position as soon as the pressure on the saddle 2 is reduced, which is the case, for example when the driver lifts off the saddle in order to shift his weight more or less onto the pedals, as is usually done, for example, when a greater driving resistance or incline resistance is to be overcome.
Instead of constantly standing on the pedals as before, the driver can alternately shift his or her weight onto the pedals and onto the saddle, which is far less tiring for the driver than when he is constantly on the pedals. During the upward stroke of the shift rod 22, the pawl 18 disengages and slides over the teeth of the ratchet wheel 13 to immediately fall back into it as soon as the seat post 7 and the shift rod '22 move downwards again.
The excess of the gear arranged between the bottom bracket and the countershaft is expediently chosen so that the number of revolutions of the bottom bracket shaft is greater than that of the countershaft.
