Einlage an Fahrzeugtüren.
Insert on vehicle doors. The invention aims to create an insert on vehicle doors, in particular for motor vehicles.
So far, weather strips have been provided on the doors of vehicles, which, because of their low resilience, usually formed a serious obstacle to the closing of the door leaf, so that the door leaf had to be slammed to ensure that it closed. If the strips were arranged in such a way that they did not present an obstacle, they did not form an airtight seal. This deficiency is to be remedied by the invention.
According to the invention, the insert is characterized by a weather strip carrier with a channel and a locking flange which extends transversely from the rear of the channel, as well as a composite weather strip with an elastic base part pressed into said channel and a sponge rubber buffer part, which is attached to the outside of the base between the legs of the channel of the carrier and against which the door leaf strikes when it is closed.
Furthermore, the insert can have a scrape, which aims to protect the edge of the vehicle floor mat.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the side view of a motor vehicle equipped with the insert. Fig. 2 is a section taken along the line 2-2 of Fig. 1, which represents the Wetterstrei fen in its innermost setting position. Fig. 3 shows a section also laid along the line 2--2 of FIG. 1, but which represents the weather strip in its outermost position.
Fig. 4 shows in cross section and in a perspective view of the weather strip and the associated carrier of the insert.
Fig. 5 shows in cross section and in a perspective view the pawing of the insert. 10 means the superstructure of a motor vehicle with a door panel 11 which can swing outward in the usual way from a door opening. On the superstructure 10 a sleeper 12 is provided on which a sheet metal floor 13 is attached.
From Fig. 2 and 3 it can be seen that when the door leaf 11 is closed, its inside was in a considerable distance from the side surface of the threshold be found. This is necessary to prevent rattling and squeaking caused by the vibration of the chassis and the superstructure while driving. The clearance between the door leaf 11 and the threshold 12 in FIG. 2 is significantly less than as indicated in FIG. 3. These two figures represent the two outermost positions, corresponding to the maximum permissible difference in the construction of the superstructure. In the position according to FIG. 3, the door leaf closes approximately 6 mm closer to the threshold 12 than in the position according to FIG. 3.
In order to obtain a watertight joint between the door leaf and the threshold in all cases, an adjustable weather strip is inserted, on which the door leaf forms the end. Because of the adjustability, it is possible to adapt the weather strip to the distance between the door leaf and the door sill and therefore to offer a minimum amount of resistance to the closing of the door leaf while still maintaining an airtight seal between this and the superstructure.
To achieve this purpose, a weatherstrip carrier is used, which has a channel 14, the longitudinal edges of which are bent downwards to form retention grooves 15. From the upper groove 15 away, the carrier is bent backwards and it extends at a right angle away from the groove to the rear to form a fixed flange 16 to form. This latter ent holds slots 17 through which Halteschrau ben 18 go to hold the flange 16 on the top of the threshold 12.
The actual weather strip consists of a relatively stiff elastic base part 19, for example made of rubber, which is pressed into the channel 14, its edges engaging in the grooves 15 and thereby holding the strip in the channel. A part 20 made of sponge rubber and having a triangular cross-section. is vulcanized with its base to one side of the base part 19 and protrudes to the outside between tween the groove flanges (Fig. 4). This part is the buffer part of the weather strip. The ridge of the sponge rubber part? 0 lies against the door leaf in the closed position and is also deformed so that the cross-section assumes a trapezoidal shape, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
The sponge rubber buffer part offers only a very small obstacle to the closing of the door leaf.
The whole weather strip would be made of sponge rubber. it would not have enough rigidity to hold itself in the grooves 15. If the weather strip were to be made entirely of rubber in a thickness that it is able to hold itself in the groove 14, the deformation of the rubber strip in the form shown in FIG. and 3 seriously prevent the closing of the door leaf. Because this weather strip is designed as a composite link, it holds itself correctly in position and can nevertheless be easily deformed in order to produce a weatherproof seal with a minimum of resistance.
The pawl belonging to the present insert has a sheet metal strip which forms a hollow rod 21 along one edge, while the remaining part of the strip represents a flat support surface 22. The latter contains openings 23 at such a distance from one another that the screws 18 holding the weather strip pass through and can thus also hold the scramble in position.
At the transition point from the hollow bar 21 to the flange 22, a groove 24 is rolled into the strip and a curved decorative strip 25 is placed over the hollow bar 21, one edge of which engages in the groove 24, while the other edge over the free edge of the Hollow bar 21 holds.
The purpose of the Scharreisens is to use the floor mat 26 in the vehicle when entering and leaving the passengers on the threshold less to dirtying and pushing open. The edge of the foot mat 26 extends into the hollow bar 21; therefore it is imperative that the paws are kept in a fixed position regardless of the position of the weatherstrip. For this reason, no provisions are made for lateral adjustment in the support flange 22 of the shame.
When installing the insert, first the weather strip flange 16 is placed on the threshold 12 and then the crowd travel flange 22 is placed on the flange 16. The screws 18 are then used. Then the door leaf is closed and the weather strip is fenced. pushed outwards until his sponge rubber part is flattened into the form visible from FIGS. 2 and 3. The screws 18 are then tightened, so that they strip both the crowd and the weather on the threshold 12 firmly. Finally, the doormat 26 is inserted with its side edges under the hollow bar 21.
The application of the described A location brings the important advantage of the improved conclusion obtained by the composite weather strip with it.
Another advantage is that the weather strip can easily be adapted to changes in the closed position of the door leaf.
